    Definitely try these on before you buy them. Sizes between the different boots varies. Especially between the Nevada's and Wyomings. I bought the Wyomings in my true to size and they were about a size too big. Then I figured Crispi would have the same sizes across the board and bought a smaller size in the Nevada's, which ended up being too small. When trying them on make sure to wear the socks you'll hunt in and allow for feet swelling (a little room). I'd say the Nevada's are true to size and the Wyomings are one size too large. Waterproofing has been excellent, but I decided to go with Kenetrek Mtn Extreme after all the sizing issues. Kenetreks are softer on the bottom of my feet compared to Nevadas, but both seem to perform well.

      The WY/ID's are designed to have a more roomy toe box, so that makes sense why you are experiencing the fit you are.

    Bought my first Crispi boots 12-15 years ago. Most comfortable boot I have owned. When I needed another pair, they were discontinued. The GTX I ordered... I can't wear them, comfort was gone. Now I'm looking at trying another brand. Been thru Danner, Vasque, Kennetrek and a few others. Looking at Lowa or Meindl.

      Lowa Hunter GTX evo extreme are a brilliant pair of boots. I’ve had mine for three years, rand is a little beat up but still waterproof no cracking to leather. Super comfy.
      Buying my second pair just to rotate in with my old pair. The hanwags are good boots too. Hear a lot of bad reviews for Meindl boots.

    I’m a big Zamberlin guy. But I purchased my first pair of crispy boots. The Colorado GTX and the quality shows. I wonder how they came up with the name Krispy though?

      From Saint Crispin and Crispinian. Two third century patron saint of shoemakers, cobblers, and leatherworkers.
      Great question. You can learn more from the site below.

    Never owned Crispi's but I cannot recommend vibram megagrip soles enough, it's a super sticky rubber but lasts surprisingly long, it's even good on ice.

    Thanks for the video and information. I have the Summit GTX BlackOvis edition. Love them but hate the insoles. Is that why you didn't mention anything about the insoles is because the lack of performance of them?

      I have 2 pairs on Kenetreks. One insulated and one not. Absolutely love them. The insoles are great. They offer a couple different insoles for different feet. May be worth checking them out.

    • @BlackOvis
      @BlackOvis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt, thank you for commenting. No insole is going to be perfect for everyone, the ones they come with are pretty standar (hoping to cover the greatest amount of people). To get the best performance out of any boot you should get a more customized insole. We sell Superfeet, they have a insole that works amazing for every foot!

    I have a friend who purchased a pair of Crispi boots from Black Ovis tried them on walked around maybe 20 yards and they hurt his feet. Black Ovis wouldn’t except them back and he was out almost $400. This is a guy who has to save a long time for that kind of purchase. Needless to say, it was a painful hit to him. Here is a guy who got me and 4 other hunting buddies to buy Crispi Boots. Buyer beware.
