10:40 Reveals his prejudice with that comment. What does that have to do with road safety? Are cyclists putting fingers up at others without reason? Why is someone cycling along in the middle of the road guilty of something, just because there are cars behind? Its not possible to cycle above 20 mph in most cases. A bike doesn't hold traffic up, it's part of the moving traffic unless the person has literally come to a stop. So sick and tired of 'going slowly sometimes' argument being used to counter any request to improve road safety. Honestly sick to death
TVL Cycling can I use your footage please as it features one of my videos? Keep up the good work in trying to keep the West Midlands safe for cycling!!
Not all police handle the footage well. I have uploaded footage of other cars driving through a red light and the police didn't care much, stating "We can't do much." was their answer. Looks like we have so called "bad eggs" among the police as well in certain countries.
Yes, Police are prepared to spend a lot of time saying they don't have time, and lying about law enforcement. I take video of a red light jumper to the police and the officer pretended the law was that you could pass up to 2 seconds after the light went red, after which they'd prosecute. the officer then watched the driver run the light 3 seconds after it turned red, and had to change his story to avoid working for a living.
Mikey has been labeled a vigilante for reporting motor vehicle drivers using mobile phones whilst driving, I would like to point out first driving while using a hand held mobile is against the law, second Mikey is just riding his bike from A to B he does not go out searching for drivers on their mobiles, and third having got proof of a driver breaking the law he reports this to the relevant authority he does not take the law into his own hands, Vigilantism is the act of preventing, investigating, and punishing perceived offenses and crimes without legal authority. And the way some drivers respond to being caught they should go on an anger management course.
Standard crapping reporting by anti-cycling reporters A programme I was on said I was a VC, a vigilante cyclist, when and I've only even given evidence to the police that I have recorded as I rode my bike.

There's a video of Mickey stopping a vehicle using the wrong lane at a junction to 'beat' the traffic. Mickey stands in front of the vehicle and orders them to reverse back and use the correct lane. This has happened on more than one occasion.... that is the definition of vigilantism! While I commend Mikey reporting drivers breaking the law, especially mobile phone use while driving, he does not have the authority to order motorists around, he does not have the authority to force drivers to perform manoeuvres nor does he have the authority to block the carriageway, even if the driver is at fault. By all means, take videos and notes and report them to the proper authority but, by blocking the carriageway and ordering drivers to reverse is preventing, investigating and punishing and taking the law into his own hands!

How many cyclist are reported ( I see many going through red lights and not stopping at crossings, I was nearly knocked over by one) or is it just motorists reported?
There's a big difference in nearly or actually being hit by someone on a bike and someone in a car. Police do operations to catch red light jumping cyclist, and given the evidence, they do this disproportionately more for cyclists than they do for motorists. Little wonder, given the encouragement from the Police, that drivers kill 5 people per day on average in the UK and seriously injure a great many more.
The problem is,.with video evidence, the authorities can take action against car drivers relatively easily because of reg plates and dvla data. However, when a cyclist is filmed breaking laws,.it's almost impossible to find the person
@@TheVexatiousLitigantis going through a red light illegal for cyclists, motorbikes, cars and lorries alike or is it not? Whether there's a difference between damage done to a person by a push bike or car is irrelevant to the law, only the level of 'punishment' for breaking that law would apply! Cyclists use this excuse all the time... that a push bike won't cause nearly as much damage as a car... but going through a red light is as illegal for a cyclist as it is for a car driver. Are you saying cyclists should be exempt from the law because they don't cause as much damage, compared to a car, to a person they hit while illegally running a red light? Seems to me you're wanting preferential treatment because you ride a pushbike!

I have cameras on my car and some of the driving I see is shocking
Using your mobile phone whilst driving should be an instant ban.
