    I was so worried the neck was going to cave, but you pulled through it incredibly well. I'm surprised you didn't have a blowtorch at the ready. And when you throw a ball that big, even the centering can wear you out. Well thrown. And I love that you're showing finished pots at the end now.

    Hello! how are you? I love your videos and your work! I would like to know what material are the plates that you put red on the potter's wheel, to exchange the pieces? Thanks a lot! (Lorena from Argentina)

    OMG you make it look so easy. I struggle. Both to center that much clay and to close the top. I'm torn between giving up and trying harder! Lol

      Mary Kidd I was just thinking that too - it looks so effortless but I know it’s the opposite! I want to start potting. My mum did in the 70s - 90s so hopefully it is in my blood!

      you cant give up clay is like cocaine , you get addicted. try using your clay a little softer , talk to your supplier tell them what you want to do they might suggest a different clay. i struggled centering and making big pieces, i made my earthenware clay a little softer and surprised my self, that was last year , everyone got big flowerpots for xmas, have also softened some of my stoneware clay and had good results. Don't give up

    I believe that jiggling sounds when center means that a change of bearings should happen

    The problem I have is that my clay dries out half way through every pull

    • @guatBush
      @guatBush 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try slowing down the wheel or pulling slightly faster. That happens when the slip on the body runs out where you are pulling.
