Hi Eddie. Thank you, this was very helpful. Now I'm just waiting on you to release a tutorial on how to use this application as a vst plugin in Cubase. You promised us this about 5 years ago already haha!
@@eddiemajour8481 I use Cubase but I also have access to Logic Pro X. I just basically want to know how to capture a song with arpeggios into Cubase and export it as audio. I've also been wondering if you could plug this into a program like Logic...
Although you explained how to ‘layering” parts, is there a way to ZONE parts across the keyboard ?? Some parts I may want to layer and some parts I may want to split. Is this possible?
Hi! Great videos! I have my keyboard hooked up via usb going into Studio One. It works great in Voice mode, but I cant figure out how to get each of the 16 channels routed to its own track in Pattern mode in my DAW. Is this possible? If so, can you please do a video or post with the info? THANK YOU and God Bless!
Hi Eddie, hope your doing fine. It's me again with another short question you might know the answer to. I think I've finally mastered the effects on separate channels on my Moxf. A second problem occurs when I use Cubase-effects on a Moxf-channel. For example: If I add a 'send-effect' on a channel assigned to the Moxf it effects all the Moxf (assigned) channels. So I have the same question again (how to separate effects) using the effects provided by Cubase? B.t.w. 'were' waiting on your first composition using your Motif ;-) Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello, It sounds like you are now using the editor inside of Cubase. You will need to make sure that each track is routed probably (isolated). I do not have the Motif keyboard (I switch to the Montage about a year or so ago), but, it could be that Cubase is listening to all tracks from the main output. I don’t have the editor with me to give you a proper walkthrough, but, check out the Yamaha site. They Alsace a plethora of information on the editor and respective keyboard. BTW - I will be posting tutorials on the Montage soon.
Serg Pavlov, Sorry for the long delay. You can save your settings by going to File and Save As in the editor. This should recall your settings on both the Rack and the editor simultaneously. I hope this helped.
Hi Ed, just a quick question if I may: I'd like some information about the "overall-effect" in the Moxf editor in comparison with the "individual instruments effect". When I change an effect for an instrument on (for example channel-3) the effect seems to be affecting all channels. I change the effect opening the right pane btw. Here I seem to be able to select an individual effect for an individual instrument, or am I wrong? Thanks in advance for your reply or reference to a part of your tutorial in case I've missed your explanation.
Hi there, Yes - you should be able to apply the effects to the specific voice selected. Now, you simply clicked the pan to the left to get to the effects, you might end up applying the effect to the "Common" parts/to all parts. Here is what you should do (I don't have the edit since the last time I post), but, doing this will do what you are trying to do: 1. Look to the right area of the editor 2. Click the line that read "Part Common" 3. Then, select the part that you want to apply the effect to 4. Then, click effect If when you click on "Part Common" there is no dropdown to select the part, then, simply click on the big "C" right below the word "Part Common" to deselect it. At that point, you can just select the part/voice/channel from the left and then select your effect to the right. I am interested to know if it worked out for you. Again, I am giving the instructions based on what I remember when I had the Motif XF & Editor. Now I use the Montage board and hope to post some video on that one too soon. Let me know.
Thanks for your quick reply! It's getting clear to me now how to change the effects for a single track and the overall effect. For me this is a huge step forward! Until now I was practically "strangling" Cubase to balance the effects in a composition. Thanks again and looking forward to new video's of your Montage. See you arround ;-)
Orlando Productions, You can simply go to File at the top left and click Save As and choose a location to set it. Alternatively, you can save it on you Motif XF directly and recall it later through the Motif.
Thanks for the comment. I have been extremely busy with work lately; but, I will be posting pretty soon...Be sure to subscribe so you can get a notice when the new video is up.
Thanks for your tutorials and your time. Hope you get to make a few more cause you speak in an understandable way. Greetings,
Ed

Hahaha! Man, that was a while back and I no longer own a MOTIF. I need to get back on this. What DAW do you use?

How do i connect my Q49 Midi Keyboard to the Motif XF Editor?
please show a video on how to record midi from the motif into a DAW like Cubase.
+Sebastian Stephan,
Do you already have the data recorded on your keyboard or just want to learn how to record live from the Motif to your DAW?

Hi. I have a motif xs rack. How to rename and save user multi in editor? And does it saved in rack too?
