Eppu Normaali started out as a punk band in the late 70's but they ended up being more of an AOR band. Their heyday was roughly from early 80's to early 90's, though they are still sort of active.
At 12:25 you were SENT a treasure of a record. I heard of those Comedians. You BETTER get a needle cuz if you like funny sketches you will love it. That record is really hard to find. And they shipped it too you!

The Weber and Fields record is from 1915, It looks like you have Weber and Fields' autographs in the deadwax, which is quite cool. They were a big vaudeville comedy duo late 19th century / early 20th century. The Henry Burr record is from 1918.
"Are You From Heaven" was recorded Feb. 18th, 1918. "Then I'll Find My Paradise" was recorded October 10th, 1917. Runs at 80rpm. The copy I sent Jarrett was a duplicate that I had.
Thanks Jarrett for another awesome video! I collect all kinds of records including Edison cylinders and 78s. I don't own any Edison Diamond records, but I think they were played at 80 rpm (close enough to 78) and were played with a diamond stylus and used "Hill and valley" modulation as you say (that is, up and down rather than side to side). You might play these OK if you got hold of an old vintage record player from the 1970s. With a stereo or stereo-compatible cartridge, and a 78 stylus fitted (these were usually 'flip-over' with a stylus for LP vinyl one side, and 78 the other side), it would probably play the Edison records OK, since a stereo (or compatible) stylus has to be free to move side to side AND up and down. Don't go earlier than 1970s, though, as the older mono only players would not be good. Alternatively you could play them on a crappy-Crosley since you won't damage the records, they were designed for much higher tracking pressures than even a Crosley would deliver!

They've sold about two million records since they started as a punk rock band in the late 1970s. That's pretty inpressive if you think that they sing in Finnish and there's only about five million people living in Finland. Went to The Parlour Trick "bandcamp" site and purhcased this album. It 's so hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for reviewing it so I could find them. Amazing album. They don't sell the dark vinyl version that you received, but the red will do. It's the music that counts.
That Volume 22 by Vinyl Moon looks terrific, loving the design and already introduced me to a great band called Panther Martin (they got such a Modest Mouse feel, but still a unique style on their music).
AFAIK the last round of 78 rpm singles were released in 1958 in the US and three years later in the UK. If you find any Elvis on 78 you have something highly collectible!

You can play edison disc, because your cartridge in turntable is 100 times lighter than a edison player soundbox, and your cartridge have flexible cantaliver so it's can go up and down without destroying record
I think you need to take a closer look at that last Vinyl Moon album cover (the one with the owl), I saw a square shaped indentation on the inside of the gatefold...
You also got me into collecting vinyl and thanks to you I have spent almost 1000 euros in 1 week on equipment and the vinyl itself haha. I love it though so thanks... i guess
@vinyleyezz that the parlor trick album is a rare limited to 250 autographed copy that has two secret messages one on each side of the vinyl that is pretty cool.

It is pronounced something like “Merjan Dede - Doonya”. They have a lot of really amazing and unique music here in Turkey and a lot of themes are related to planet Earth and native land, which can both be called Dünya. At least, as I understood
At least here in the UK I think audio recordings over 75 years old are exempt from copyright. If the law is similar in the USA you could probably play those old 78s and Edison discs in a video without falling foul of copyright.
You should make a video where you buy a Vinyl Record mystery box on Ebay and open it Live. There are a lot of videos out there of mystery boxes, but none with Vinyl.. I dunno, just an idea.

You should get the Ortofon 78! It looks like the Ortofon 2M red but it is grey. It is perfect for playing shellac records.
