High-gain metal tones in a low-wattage amp? You betcha! The Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Badlander 25W tube combo is a streamlined, fire-breathing Recto-style amp you have to hear to believe. Shop it today at Sweetwater 👉 imp.i114863.net/kjeRZ3
Incredible combo. Best for recording. Great clean amp too. Don’t let reviews get in the way. Most folks don’t know s..t and can’t even spell three letter words. Wtf. Boogie rules.
I just bought this and am waiting on delivery…. I was kinda nervous not knowing exactly what this amp could do never having played one before. Not nervous anymore…. absolutely excited now . Thanks Don and Nick for this awesome demonstration.
Dear mesa boogie, I use your products till the early 2000s. I appreciate your r&d in el84 power tubes, from the Caliber 22, to this incredible Badlander. Lots of congrats for the sound you obtain from these tubes. But now, pls, give 6L6s another chance! Lots of guitarists doesn’t need tube rectification, simulclass possibility or el84s pushed power and want a mark-ish tone… so, after mini rectos, 25/35 marks, give us a three channels Mark V 50watts with just 2 6L6s in power section… simple and direct! Thx ☺️
If you like the sound of this amp then you are going to love that the Badlander heads have a Cab IR setting with direct to computer use that makes the amp sound like this.
Also Boogie's lay out inside is awful for a tech to work on They lay circuits on top of each other so you have to dismantle stuff you normally wouldn't have to and components get very hot that way and melt easier Friedman or even Marshall is the better way to go from a maintenance perspective IMO they sound better as well and less complicated Too many things to go wrong But I'm an old school kind of guy Yet it and forget it
I picked up my badlander 100 from you at launch. I’ve been making videos with the badlander 25 for a couple weeks. It’s a great amp. I’m glad you guys are doing the video with the combo and a mic on the speaker. That’s awesome. I’m not a huge fan of combos just because I like using what we cab I want, so carrying the extra amp doesn’t make sense for me. But there’s so many times I’d like a one item solution. Sounds great guys. Good job.
Love your videos and gear demos. I would like to see you do some amp demos with MIM Fenders and some of the Inspired By Gibson Epiphones. May sound crazy but I bet there’s a lot of others out there too. Thanks and love your store too!
Awesome piece of gear with rock solid Mesa Boogie quality. Nevertheless very expensive. This is made in US, but when it comes to tone, the PRS MT15 is a very tough competitor with great sound and a pair of 6L6 !) which is almost overkill. For that price, Mesa could have included EL34 power tubes. And BTW when Ola played the Badlander, it chugged like hell. I wonder what this guy did to make it almost not chug at all. Maybe it´s in the fingers 🤔
Ola's pickups are high output, though. That Les Paul has PAF's which are most likely unpotted. Unpotted PAFs normally have a more hollow sound. I actually like what I'm hearing from this, especially when Nick played through it. Plus it's got my favorite speaker in it.
And here I was reading your comment like he must have checked the price and it’s actually under $600.. Then I check the price 🤦🏻♂️ I got the Gojira neural dsp vst. That’ll have to suffice for this lifetime. 😖
this would be a total killer package with some good IR plug ins Even with the IRs that comes with the Amp it started to come alive and didn't sound so boxy.
@@Jalliams Hey James. He's playing more than one riff in the open, but the one that starts around 38 seconds reminded me of Walk by Pantera, although with less crunch obviously. I'm honestly more old school with my metal so not familiar with Sevendust. I love the sound of this amp though and am considering one.
I had the 50w combo for a while. I ended up selling it, but I was super surprised at how excellent the cleans were. Definitely didn't seem like an afterthought. Sounds like this one will be the same way!
Hi, Conner! Thanks for your message, Happy Thanksgiving. “Boxy” is often a byproduct of the speaker cab you use, not the amp. 25 tube watts are still pretty loud, Vox AC15 and AC30 are 15 and 30 watts respective. Not knowing the playing situation you’re in, I can’t be more specific about whether the amp has enough output. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! I knew where you going as soon as you said "deliver the goods" :D Pretty interested in getting one of these - I had a rectoverb 25 and really missed the cab clone interface.
Not sure why the LP was down a half step and Strat 440 LoL usually the other way around Very cool Oh well Personally subjective but did not care for this "fire breather" I had an old 80's MK head that way utterly fantastic but not sure what happened here Is this a Gibson offering ?? Didn't they buy Boogie ?? The amp A Timmons uses blows this away IMO Loaded with features though I guess I'm too old fashioned Also I bet this sounds better with a 4-12 or a different speaker Usually where they cut any proverbial corner's Not meaning to bash but not for me Sorry
Wayyyyy to much $$$ for this. Man what a shame… Not to mention anything with EL84s sounds so thin compared to EL34s or 6l6s. It’s just tooooo much bite. I’d rather spend money on used Badlander 50/100 for the same price range. Or better yet, preferably, an old school two channel recto.

got any codes bruh…
I definitely love the sound..and love the way you demonstrate this amp. Love all your demos.
I wonder when sweetwater is going to get you to do Alvarez acoustic demos; especially the rarest $1000 US dollar models?
Don if you played Pantera - Walk i will buy this amp :)
Incredible combo.
Best for recording.
Great clean amp too.
Don’t let reviews get in the way.

Great demo , thanks Don and Nick
Dam that sounds great!!! The cleans are superb!!!!
What an awesome demo! Loved the heavy gain demos and all of the presenter’s cool guitars. Thanks for the video!
I’m not the buyer for this amp but I’m really glad this exists.

You NEED an Electradyne. You're welcome

Over $1800 for combo to save you some time.

Thanks for posting those vids. I had been watching them for the past week. knew this weas coming since last month but was waiting for the combo vid.
@@kingoftherailsconcertvidz Thank you, I'm very glad they are helping some folks out.
They make great sounding amps. But most of the models they make are too expensive for the average consumer.
CA aint cheap
clean channel sounds great ... the dirt sounds cool... it just sounds 'small' for a guy use to a 50 watt 5153

Don is the best. Doesn’t matter the product/if I’m even interested…I’ll check out vids b/c he’s doing them.
Sounds good, I like the cleans and the gain sounds. Usually I like one and hate the other. Only thing is the price is way too high.
This looks AWESOME! 2 identical channels with CabClone IR! I wonder how good the cleans are for a pedal platform...
I want the Mark V so bad but this amp's tone is beautifull
Sounds great. Guess another trip to the store is in order. Salad bar, here I come😂.
Nick cracked that egg right open!
Amazing sound.
People that claim "too boxy" obviously don't do any serious studio work.

Nice "Deliverin' the Goods" solo
I wish they would offer this amp with a bigger enclosure. The size is holding back some of the tone.
Here I thought it was gonna be like $600 or $700 lol
And here I was reading your comment like he must have checked the price and it’s actually under $600.. Then I check the price 🤦🏻♂️ I got the Gojira neural dsp vst. That’ll have to suffice for this lifetime. 😖
You can barely get a Mesa mini cab for under $600 these days. Mesa must think people are flowing in throw away cash right now.
they just printed monies… into oblivion… it should cost actual silver at this point
Go for a Friedman BE mini head and save $$$$...!!!🤫
i figured over 1000 but almost 2000 for 25 watts i didnt think it would be that much. But its def a nice amp if i had the money i wouldnt hesitate
Cant wait to get the 100W head version.
I do like the amp ..sounds good on Les Paul and Strat ..
Nice Rammstein inspired riffs🤘
Delivering The Goods! 🤘
My thoughts are..if your going to go that high in price..you might as well save for the 100 watt amp head version?
Yes especially because it has the 20/50/100 watt switch
this would be a total killer package with some good IR plug ins Even with the IRs that comes with the Amp it started to come alive and didn't sound so boxy.
Lovely riffage at the beginning, Don! Was that intentionally channeling, ‘Feel So’ by Sevendust? V cool.
Great sounding amp!
Cheers
Clearly "channeling" Pantera my friend.
@@adamscottv ~ immediately looking up Pantera. Lol. Which track? Seems that Sevendust were channeling them too!

I felt the same with the 50 combo
How does this amp compare to the Mesa Rectoverb 25 (which is a little Beast) - with gorgeous pristine-Cleans.
Im interested but does 25w have enough headroom or will it sound boxy?

TH-cam makes it sound small. You’d be pretty surprised by these 25 watt mesas
How do I get a job with sweetwater doing the metal amp demos? That would be fun. I got some killer chuggy riffs all day.
Love the heavier aspects if this amp 🤘🔥🤘🎸🖤
😅
I’m not a guitar player, but that was a great and funny review! 😃
I could see 1200 maybe 1500 but man…. Does sound good though
I didn't care for the tone The Fillmore and Cali sound much better That one Andy Timmons used as well Their old first run amps were awesome
I knew where you going as soon as you said "deliver the goods" :D
Pretty interested in getting one of these - I had a rectoverb 25 and really missed the cab clone interface.
Sounds great to me, but i wish it was cheaper.
This ones a bargain vs the Mk5 25w combo at $2149
Aparently we have to wait for Ola to hear a proper metal tone from this amp.
Bagus suara gitar nya 👍
I like the Guitar better then the amp!
Absolutely
Amazing tones with a talented player keep it up👍. #Donhastalent
Rock machine. Not modern metal imo.
Agree. I keep a Mesa in one corner of the room, 5150 in another, and ENGL ironball that does a bit of everything.
Yea that sucker has a ton of mids.
Don can shred..🤟🏼🤟🏼
Sounds sweet, but out of my price range.

that intro clip sound muffled
Jack Black, is that you.....??
i have determined by listening with my iphone x speakers that i don't really like this amp
Lol that sounds like hot garbage compared to a dual rec
Gibson strikes again 😭
Boxy

All mesas are overpriced a bit
Awful to work on as well
Great amp if you DONT know haw to play a guitar as demonstrated at the beginning of this vidio
