@@llp7261 It's a type of kitchen cloth usually made of linen or cotton used for drying dishes or mopping up tables and surfaces. It dates back to about the 18th century where they were used to keep tea pots warm and cover up baked goods. Now it's pretty much a British household staple and they come in awesome designs. They make great souvenirs and I actually hang some of them up as posters.

I have some tea towels, I’ve no idea what they’re made out of exactly but they don’t dry anything. They’re like micro fibre they just smear the water around. It makes me angrier than a tea towel ever should, yet I still use them and haven’t bought any different ones... First world problems.

i am irish and back in ireland we always had them so in america we brought them with us and they are thinner then normal dish towels and don’t absorb much

You should watch Little Dorrit. It's her first starring role and she's fantastic in it. I was really shocked having discovered that her career didn't really take off after it and it was only 8 years later when The Queen was released that she became really famous.

In the UK we have tea towels and hand towels in the kitchen, tea towels are thin and absorbent for your dishes and the hand towel is only for your hands. The theory is that the tea towel stays cleaner

Yes it will hold value. Unless Brexit fucks us in the ass and the value o the pound drops again. But then even if the queens face was on it, it would of dropped all the same. I’m thinking of keeping a few coins and note with the queens face of it. So in like 60 years I can pass it to my grandkids and maybe they will do a show and tell in class with them
