Saw this last night. Can relate to this on a deeply personal level. That last hug between older Elliott and Chad. What I wouldnt give to be able to have that. Thanks for putting this on my radar, Perri. Wouldn't have watched it otherwise.
I just got out of this movie and holy shit you were not kidding. Was not expecting all the tears. Now I feel like I want to re examine the way I look at the world entirely
@@bluescat59 no i like good movies. Not ones with a gen z lifetime type plot. Literally called that he was gonna die from the very beginning. None of it was even cohesive. Nothing thought provoking. Emotional moments were cheap and unearned. Characters were unlikeable and one dimensional.
Just finished watching this movie and wow did not expect to cry towards the end. A really great coming of age movie. Easily one of the best movies of the year so far
I finally watched this movie and I cried. Oh god did I cry. It inspired me to write something to my younger self. What I wouldn’t do to go back and personally talk to my younger self.
I want to check out this movie. I like Megan Park as a actress. I’ve haven’t seen her first movie The Fallout, but I will check that out too. I’m happy to hear she’s becoming an excellent writer and director. Thanks Perri!!!
I work as an Uber driver in Sundance and I always ask my passengers what movie has been your favorite and definitely My Old Ass was mentioned a lot this year also What's Inside
Had the exact same takeaways! Incredible film. Sad I couldn’t catch it in theaters at all, but everyone should check this out. One of the best movies of the year
I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't see this in theaters. I saw the trailer, got a pretty ho-hum impression of the film, and so I didn't give the movie much thought and saw something else. My Old Ass didn't have a very long theatrical run, so I just watched it on streaming and I loved it. I wish I would have seen this review sooner, it would have made me bypass the trailer.
This review nails it. About the director, the rising stars, and the best summary of the theme I’ve seen. I didn’t expect to be so waylaid emotionally. Hug the ones you love.
I agree, however, why you gave Aubrey Plaza's brilliant supporting turn such short-shrift is baffling. She was truly great! One of the most complex, honest performances she's ever given. Oh well, I guess it's all subjective.
This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Gave me the same type of feelings as Jojo Rabbit. Hilarious, fantastical, and emotionally powerful. So relatable …Fantastic movie.
Yeah except jojo rabbit was a good movie. Like if jojo rabbit was directed and written by lifetime and uhh we just wanna have wacky things happen so we’ll just use shrooms even though they don’t even do that. Oh and everyone can see the imaginary friend this time for some reason. Oh and we’ll make the lesbian girl realize that she just hadn’t found the right man yet.

Thank you for shining a light on these movies for us, Perri 🙌🏻
Such a beautiful and genuine story that discusses the intricacies of romance, along with appreciating what you have before it’s gone.

I’ll definitely check this out. If you loved it so much then I definitely need to see it!

Excellent movie. Percy Hynes White was also very good in it, the review dropped the ball a bit in not mentioning him. Highly recommend this film.

My 2 favorites right there!
Got to do Sundance virtually this year but damn I wish I could’ve seen this one but it was only available in person! I’m so jealous!
I want to see this! Thanks for the review🎉

I saw this one at Sydney Film Festival and I adored this film, can not wait to rewatch!

What a wonderful movie! This is a great movie, plenty to reflect on, tear up about, and love the people in your life. Wow!
Like with this one, the title will give reviews a second, juvenile but wonderful, dimension.
Just got out of the film and it was so good. It made me feel like I need to start living for myself rather than someone else
I stop watching when i see she was going to stay with Chad, to me is a 2, and that 2 is only for Audrey.
As I type, this review has been up for 5 hours. That's not old.
Wow
