The problem with olive oil is that it used to be squeezed only from the pulp, but today it is also squeezed from the pit. Modern olive oil, like other vegetable oils, contains oxidizing and pro-inflammatory linoleic acids. Olive oil is the most frequently counterfeited product.
Yikes!
When buying olive oil and it says pomace on the container, avoid it. I only purchase the extra virgin variety.
I switched to glass container olive oil for recycling issues. Bummer to learn they use plastic in the manufacturing. I would think metal would be more durable.
Single source organic cold-pressed olive oil in opaque glass.
“I’m not sure why you’re eating a salad” ??
Does tallow, butter or ghee contain phthalates?
Dr, what are your thoughts on melting Coconut for use in cooking?
Is the Cobram Estate an Aussie olive oil 😫
I've been into nutrition for about 14 years, around 7 years carnivore, tried various varieties, now doing pretty much the same version as you minus the dairy and still I keep learning new to me useful information when watching your videos. Thank you so much
Couple this with UC Davis study in 2020 finding that 82% of Avocado Oil is Rancid or Mixed with Other Oils. Only 2 brands were pure and nonoxidized: Chosen Foods and Marianne's Avocado Oil. But Chosen Foods on this Mamavation study revealed 1130 ppb and Marianne's isn't listed.
Just so you’re aware, you didn’t match the correct one for the California Olive Ranch, it shows it as 2,646 ppb…the one you stated was from O California brand
Kinda off topic but does anyone know if hair oils are bad for you. My gf just got hair oil at the mall and it has soybean amd sunflower oil. Just curious if this is harmful
Yes, because your skin is absorbing those harmful oils and they can get into your blood stream and cause many problems.
I use the Dittmans kalamata olive oil in glass. Wonder how good that is.
Kalamata is in Peloponese , Greece. My aunt has Greek origins and i know that Greek virgin oil especially from Peloponese and Crete( if poss,cold-pressed concentrated oil) is supreme. Solid A class+.
I didnt look the whole video, but if you want to find out if your olive oil has perfect quality, put it in the fridge over night... if its good quality, it gets thick and changes its viscosity.. if not, then you know you have bad quality which isnt really pure olive oil..
on top of that, can somebody please help me with a problem? i always use ghee for cooking in my stainless steel pan and its impossible to cook eggs without sticking... it only happens with ghee, with butter there is no sticking but butter always gets brown... any ideas?
Paul has this intelligent but intense *unpredictability*....and it is fascinating.
I feel that Paul is always one or two research studies ahead of me and the rest of us.
Most Portuguese olive oils that i have found are only ~6% linoleic acid.
@PaulHartXYZ the butter in the supermarket I go to is in a cardboard container. . The sticks of butter are wrapped in wax paper.
Will the fat in grassfed beef wrapped in plastic absorb phthalates also? Any meat wrapped in plastic? Chicken, lamb, pork from butcher. Prosciutto, salami, cheese wrapped in plastic from the store.
Yes. Anything in plastic.
Very informative thank you
Coconut oil then.
My local farm sells glass containers of their own grass fed cow’s Raw Milk and Yogurt. They can even mix in their own produced maple syrup into the yogurt as well if you want it flavored. They give a deposit back toward the next purchase when you return the glass containers. They also sell raw cheese spreads and wild home baked sour dough bread (a great treat). Raw local honey as well.
As far as olive oils, just don’t use them, the Dr. said it all at the beginning when he said the olive and avocado itself should have no chemicals in them, so just eat those raw straight up and skip any oils. Problem solved!
You literally helped no one...Sorry, but "My local farm" is not attainable for the vast majority of the human population
@@bwink23 Not sure why it's not attainable? What's holding people back? Please explain.
I use olive oil
I had some olive oil the other day after weeks on my meat based elimination diet and was shocked to feel inflamed after consuming it. It was supposed to be 100% olive oil from Italy that I purchased at costco.
What do you guys think about coconut oil?
What do you think about Jovial Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil?
Patini. Comes in a metal can. Hopefully if there’s a plastic liner in there that’s not giving off any issues.
Pls just give us the brand of the best olive oil PLEASE.
Don’t eat it
Bertoli is very good and tested in germany every year for contermination. Don't know if you can get it in the USA.
@@URCRINGEwhat is rbd?
Refined, bleached, deodorized is rbd.
How about Bryan Johnson's snake oil, or Gundry's from Morocco?
I've never stayed at an AB&B but i think it's dangerous to use anything there that has been opened as far as food product goes. Who knows who may have done something to it, people are not right and if you are an owner you can get sued, that's just crazy.
Dr Paul what about Walnut oil for cooking?
Walnuts are a seed, its a seed oil.
What about Bryan Johnson’s olive oil?
I live
in Italy
and buy
straight
from the
farmers .
Paul, what about meats wrapped in plastic? Will the meat contain Phthalates?
How do the waxes and coatings applied to the produce used to make these oils weigh in? I think many have abandoned using Apeel, but there are similar products out there.
Literally the bottle in his hand in the video tab is the SAME bottle in my kitchen.. to be fair I didn't buy it, my dad did. I've been using Organic Macadamia Nut Oil
Why do you only sell the tallow in 3 packs?
Order straight from Greece or Italy, like I do
Ha, ha
Yeah. That's realistic.
Ha, ha
Yeah. That's realistic.
They have mafia too. They dilute the oil with other things too. Watch documentaries on olive oil wars and documentaries on US customs. We have local olive oil. Is best to consume our own oil.
That doesn’t mean the factory doesn’t use plastic
Are there any links or lists to show the most phthalate free EVOO on the UK market?
Which of those oils were the best? I tried to skip through but didn’t catch it
Is there anything that isn't poison
Is olive oil ok to use for baking in the oven?
Glad you are quoting a study, with references. Do it more often.
So I'm confused, just buy cold pressed in gren or brown bottles right???
How do you get you magnesium? I’m very curious 🤔
Why doesn't anyone talk much about coconut oil for cooking? The cool ones use tallow. I know its good but isn't coconut, in glass, an easy choice ?
Can you do a video on sparkling water? I’ve seen unsettling studies
Any link? I drink sparkling water sometimes because it has healthy minerals in it. Just make sure it has no sugar or anything else in it.
@ nah no link, I just saw that sparkling water was an endocrine disrupter.. I’m talking normal sparkling water like pellegrino or topo chico
Wagyu beef tallow, and ghee 👶 😊
So Is Bragg the best mainstream olive oil?
Btw the fruit not in a plastic container are litterally on a plastic shelf of the fridge in the door lol
At end he said’Not sure why your eating salads’. And yet cucumbers tomatoes red capsicum are all fruits & salad ingredients. I know Paul approves of fruits🤔
How do you get company’s to get away from using plastic when dealing with olive oil ?
Oh, I thank you so much. I’ve been getting the wrong olive oil. The one in the middle that is.
Please do a video on cold pressed seed oils
Seed oils are bad for you. Period. The end.
