Amazing game, i'm in chapter 2, big Gothic fan, this scratches that itch while waiting for Gothic remake perfectly. I'd be so happy for more games like this
Just picked up this game off this video, where have the last 6 hours gone ! loving the world even though it's kicking my ass ! but the sense of progression that comes with eat bit of better equipment you get is AMAZING !!!
@@LXXVIIZONE That’s awesome! I agree for sure, I can’t tell you how many times my stubborn ass kept getting wrecked but had to see it through and eventually once I did, it felt great. Let me know how the rest goes!
The game is inspired by Gothic - inspired to the extent people call it 2D Gothic. For those who have never heard of Gothic - most immersive adventure rpg ever created - there are mechanics in this game that are still not in games today and those mechanics are great.
One mechanic - when you get better in swordfighting your animations actually change, and you get more combos and also the character's attacks are getting faster. I can't remember another game having this mechanic
Well done, very thorough without being drawn out. You have earned a new subscriber. I agree with you analysis of the game btw, it’s one of the best I’ve played in a long time.
Soulslike crpg? What? Not even close. Medieval? Not really. Its a good game but its too woke, sadly its a problem that ruins immersion too much. Not a bad video but its very inaccurate and a bit exagerated. The more i played, the more i was dissapointed it was a dei checklist. I think the publisher forced them to do it. Most people will be be upset when realising how linear the story and progression is, sure there are secrets and good quests but you will find these mostly by reading a guide. Backtracking also becomes a big problem
For one, it is a medieval setting. It’s a Celtic setting with armor, bows, and melee weapons. Roman architecture, ruins, Viking style nemeton. As for the woke part I have zero clue what you’re talking about, I would like at least one woke example. Also the souls like combat wasn’t my opinion, it is stated on the steam description, which is part of what I said caught my eye. But at the end of the day, it’s just my opinion, and I appreciate you checking it out and taking the time to comment and talk about it.
@@samtheashen I feel like its trendy to simply call games woke that include strong female characters. Drova is not a "woke" game at all. There is no non-binary talk, and no transgender NPCs. You can build yourself to have a female voice on a male body, but that's about it. It is sooooo so far away, from what the newest Dragon Age looks like. People that call Drova woke are simply stupid. I see comments by this Neyreyan guy everywhere. He left a negative review on steam, leaves bad comments in the community discussion and seems to leave bad comments on TH-cam too. This guy really seems so insecure and full of hate, that he is obsessed with downtalking Drova everywhere. It is hilarious but also kind of sad, considering that he could damage a small Indie study over his obsession to include politcs into discussion where they don't belong.
@@maduit Wow that goes deeper than I thought lol but I definitely never once thought the game was being woke or anything, it never even crossed my mind. Having played the new dragon age as a massive dragon age fan, it’s a whole other can of worms.. too upset to talk about it. But it’s not even the wokeness there, it’s the Disney like writing with none of the levity or dark themes from the previous games.
Awesome game, still in chapter one after 20 hours and still very much fun.
@@Uloil369 I took soooo long in the first chapter 😂
@samtheashen Yeah, i enter Nemeton after 20 hours, there was a lot of to do in other locations.

@@vaidotasdarulis absolutely agreed, gothic remake is still sitting on my steam wishlist, it’s been a while though..
@@samtheashen Let them cook, but if you have that itch try checking out Archolos which is like probably the best Gothic game after G1 and G2
I love the game. Looking forward to 100% it.

I think that Neva will be the indie game of the year.
