ONE OND ONLY! HE WILL LIVE FOREVER, THE BEST OF THE BEST! MOST SENSETIVE AND BY THE ABSOLUTELIVELY UNTOUCHABLE! NO ONE IS LIKE JACO!!!!! LOVE YOU FOREVER, THE GIFT YOU GAVE US IS UNMEASURABLE!
Music and composition that is so virtuosic and beautiful, it takes my breath away. It resonates even more, when you have been fortunate to experience Jaco and Michael play live. They were the best of the best 🙏❤️
Such an amazing song which shows a tender Jaco! As a fellow bi-polar artist I get the manic Jaco but rare to find the depressive Jaco! Forever love what we shared and lost with this genius!
Jaco was good. I think this album helped cement his career as a fret- less bassist. If you think he could have played as well with Zawinal and Short in the Weather Report you should reassess your feelings about him. He was a lucky guy who had his hand held until he walked into a bar and had his head busted. That's what happens to people when they get all jacked on cocaine and walk into a rough bar telling everyone there that your I.Q. is "way over 200." He probably wasn't all that smart, was he?
dude what do you know about life. cocaine sucks, and makes people become big headed. But Jaco was a really, really good composer, which takes a lot of EQ, and fuck IQ, a much overrated standard, which measures qualities that don't help much in real life. Wayne Shorter -sic- and Joe Zawinul both have spoken highly about Jaco. He was more then just good; like Hendrix, he was a pioneer, directing bassplayers what direction to take. Listen more.
It is a shame that Jaco was insecure about his own abilities, this is a common failing among creative people-they lose perspective, and if you have an upbringing which does not favor developing a healthy ego, you can get it twisted. I recall hearing that Jaco had a bit of a rough beginning, it is just tragic that men feel they must demonstrate hostility to feel empowered. RIP, what a loss to the music world.
I'm not sure I understand your comment. Are you saying Jaco was a lucky guy right place/right time until his death? The man was a master who re-defined the instrument. He also suffered from a mental illness that went largely went untreated. Many people with mental illness function well when on medication. The problem is when under control they think they don't need their meds anymore. So sad to loose such a talent. Maybe you should reassess your evaluation of a genius.
@@mister1G Yes mate, I hear what you are saying and I completely agree with you, the music is what we live 'in' - I have no interest in self-styled analysts or critics, there is the music and we serve it and are nourished by it. Cheers.
Michel, Jaco and Michael drink french wine in a café above our heads in Dreamland.
3 great musicians.
This is one of those songs that usually brings me to tears. It is so sad that Jaco didn't live longer, but what a life he lived!
beyond epic and beautiful, one of my favorite recordings of all time
Music that says it all! Jaco, Brecker, written by Colombier. Everyone should hear this! Class !

Michael Gorman it’s just the music. I want to belong to that world! No comments no judgements, just music telling a beautiful story in your mind!
