    I gotta respect Bink for the position he’s taking. The era that most hip hop heads miss that had great music was because of producers and beatmakers of this caliber. Creating your OWN sound and expression, separating yourself is what pushed the music forward. In a world where copying is overlooked and tolerated cause everybody just wants the bag, you’ll never see the quality of hip hop improve. It’s a real shame…

    This made me like Bink! even more. He feels the same way as some of the aspiring beatmakers/producers feel. It's hard to have your own sound when you have someone in the game telling you to sound like another producer. A lot of hip hop artists aren't forward thinking. They living into the now riding the wave instead of being themselves. You'll come to find that some of your favorite artists didn't really like some of the songs that made them pop. Labels say, "My way or the highway". At the end of the day most artists gotta eat and when they see that window they JUMP!

  • @SDSOverfiend

    I hear Bink… but Timbaland inclusion was basically to break up the monotony and get another established Superstar producer to push the Album. None of the Singles where Bink Produced. Even Tone and Poke/Trackmasters got love.

  • @ericmclean4291
    @ericmclean4291 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I understand why Bink don't like it but every producer should do it. I have him as the best hip-hop producer ever because he knew when to conform for the artist and when to make artist conform to his style. And he definitely has his own style that the greats acknowledge. His work with the other Rocafella artists, especially Philadelphia Freeway and Dipset, displayed it. He work with Joe Budden probably shows the uniqueness of one of his sounds the most. Lastly, look for that he had Drake do for Lord Knows.

  • @toupsbo5406

    He salty!! Producers been biting from each others sounds/style for the longest, that’s how they stay relevant! Just Blaze was versatile, he can’t just stick to one type of sound/style if he’s going to make beats for a whole record label (rocafella). Even Babyface and Jam & Lewis had to bite a little from Teddy Riley back in the 90’s. Even Primo kind of bit from Easy Mo Bee on Das Efx Real hip-hop, and the whole west coast was bitting from Dre… that’s just the way it goes. R-Kelly’s production stayed relevant throughout the years cause he knew when and how to bite from what was hot at the moment! That’s the business, no need to be salty about it. Even Swizz Beats was kind of biting from Dame Grease when he was coming up. Get over it Bink!

    Most of our greats are students at heart, and Justblaze is a master at production, sonics & sequencing b/c he's a student of the game. He could sound like anybody b/c he studied them, nothing wrong with that. Both these brothers know music, but Justblaze was coming into the game after many pioneers of the sounds of hiphop. Primo, PRock, QTip, Dre, RZA, etc... Even Bink's influence began w/ Notts & Q-Tip. But Bink made a conscience decision to embrace not being a "chameleon", but rather his own style & sound. Justblaze is one fav of all time, but he eventually cultivated & weaved in his own unique way of production as time went on. Everyone isn't bold enough to come into the game w/ innovation. Especially during a time that when they didn't like it or understand it, they simply told you it was whack lol. Nowadays, producers have no problem doing the exact same production, and using the exact same loops from downloaded sound packs. Diff time, diff game

If 1 or 2 producers said you jacked them in the beginning of you career, it makes sense as most new producers base their work on the people they like the most. But if you have 5 or 6 producers coming for you when you're established in the game then you made a conscious decision to jack them.

    Bink not lying. When I started making noise in 2006-2007 as a music producer, I sent beat cds to every A & R in the game “LUMBAJACK Tracks”.. and one landed on G desk at the ROC and next thing I know “Show Me What You Got” and “Touch The Sky” comes out. Those tracks were on that CD. In return and as a hush move (IMO) I got clearance to use Jay vocals on Juvenile’s single “Way I Be Leanin” off his “Reality Check” album at a time when he wasn’t clearing his vocals for anyone to use.

    Bruh production just like rapping, everyone is influencing everyone. If you listen to Just early records busta joint, Buck Shot and even who want what, it was very swizz beat or ensonic esq. However all your records have the same drums underneath with the same fills and drops ro different rhythms. Even you don't know and 1900 hustler sound VERY DIFFERENT, if you listen close. I know a lot of producers who learned how to EQ being in a session with Teddy Riley, doesn't mean they took his swag. Honestly Bink sounds mad that they jumped behind Just and not him. Even Ye accused Just of the same but Jay himself defended Just. I don't understand in our culture why the competition makes us enemies. Jay and Nas still manage to share space even though they went at each other. Math I'm tired of this narrative yall gotta start asking more direct challenging questions imho cause these dudes will paint a narrative that makes them always appear as their ego sees. Melle Mel and Eminem that's what I wanna see. A real convo cause that narrative is important

    I’ve seen videos of Blaze producing …. He can play a lot of instruments and produce any style ….. I don’t know, I mean, if Dame or Jay or a rapper at that time is asking for a specific vibe, why wouldn’t a person that can mimic styles do that?
    I think producers who have 1 set sound or style is because they’re limited or they’re hiding their range ….. I would have to see a situation where Blaze just blatantly remade a beat, sample and all ….
