Nintendo won because they showed a shit ton of quality games that are out this year, exclusively for the system (or third party titles exclusive for the system as a hand held like Rocket League, Skyrim, NBA, Fifa, etc.) + gave us things to look forward to in 2018 + big announcement for 2019+. You can't just take one part of that equation and say that was all they did.

Speaking on what Greg was talking about with Playstation's PreShow... Everyone was saying that the show starts at 9PM Est. Then Everytime I seen Sony talk about it they was like "Playstation live 8PM Est" and I was hype to watch at 8 but I was confused as a viewer since I was getting different information. And why 8 came and I saw it was just the PreShow I was just like aww man until they was like HERE'S NEW CRASH FOOTAGE and now I was just deathly confused at this point. I think they should've spoke about there being announcements at the PreShow to less confuse fans and to have a higher viewer rate too
Here's something to think about: the first e3 conference was in 1995, before streaming and before the proliferation of internet on every device. Before regular basis data mining and before massive leaks. E3 has changed from what it once was because the world has changed. So I pose a question: how would you have felt about this E3 if there were no leaks, and the press conferences that were filled with games you already heard about were in fact surprises? I think our outlook would be dramatically different.
I have a feeling Sony is going to start saving their "shocks" for their PSX conferences and their E3 conferences will just be for gamplay trailers or things already announced.
The Battlefront 2 gameplay made me smile, legit made me happy. It's cool to see actual gameplay of games I want.
The best part about Easy Allies is they don't have a toxic fan base that dislikes videos because they get triggered by a guest supporting racial or gender equality.

Microsoft and Ubisoft had the best surprises and the best presentation
To be honest was Ubisoft. Mario + Rabbids looks really rad, Skull & Bones new IP, Beyond and Good 2!
this guy makes a compelling argument for Ubi. Also, his point on weather people legitimately thought there wouldn't be a Pokémon or metroid game on switch was spot-on.
Look, I loved the Nintendo announcements. But I wonder why no one is mentioning that they did NOT talk about Virtual Console or Online again, and even more worrying: They only announced ONE new 3rd party game (Rocket League). And this worries me a bit.
Because Nintendo doesn't only have e3 to reveal games and news. They also have Nintendo Direct. A few months ago they made a Direct for some of the indie games coming to the Switch this year and next. They'll have a Direct for the VC, too. They announced in this e3 that many third party are working on games for the Switch. It's a new system that just came out 3 months ago, no surprise if more new 3rd party would be revealed later since some received their dev kits later. Why don't you look back at the first 6 months of the Xbone and PS4 and see whow many new 3rd party games they had.

@ 14:11 Love the love for The Last Night!! Game of show for me. I continue to be excited for Detroit and Ni No Kuni and Sea of Thieves and cuphead et al, but those were known quantities. And while others were aware of The Last Night it was new to me. I also thought that A Way Out and Deep Rock Galactic were incredibly exciting announcements.

Just remember, by the time the Super Switch hits those two will realize that Splatoon is the peer of Smash and Kart.

Nintendo's Direct was purely directed at Switch games, which is why tons of 3DS news followed afterward.
Sony showed cool games that arent out anytime soon. MS showed a bunch of fun looking games, but could have done with some AAA heavy hitters. And Nintendo made me more confident in the Switch's future.
Showing a logo is not enough for E3. Ubisoft won hands down, thrashed the competition.

But for a game that was shown 2yrs ago. Where is it? Metroid might of been a logo. But we could get a video on a Direct by the end of the year, gameplay next years E3 and probably a released day. At the end of the day we know its in development and its coming. Rumors are out to sleep.
Oh I have no doubt that Nintendo will get Prime 4 out quicker than Shenmue 3.

I'm very much not a Nintendo guy. I don't care for the characters they have or type of games (I do respect that they take risks with every iteration of Mario, Zelda etc). So their games they showed don't do anything for me. That being said, I understand. That if you are a Nintendo fan then they absolutely nailed it.
For me it was Sony who won. They offered me hardly anything new. But what they did show was exactly what I'm looking forward to for the next year or two.
All conferences were at least good, even EA had a cool few things, especially A Way Out.

You don't win e3 by showing a logo, you show uncharted lost legacy trailer(exclusive), days gone gameplay (exclusive), shadow of the colossus remake in game footage (exclusive), you show the best god of war trailer ever made (exclusive), you end the show with 9 minutes of Spider-Man PS4 Gameplay ! (Exclusive) ..Sony destroyed imo

There are people who "Drawing Pickachu" and " make a Metroid empty Logo" and there are people who make a "old Final Fantasy cg presentation" and a "Kingdom Something 3 release in 2030" ... just saying
While I personally don't think an E3 has to surprise us, it does have to WOW us. Sony's conference had very few games that excited me, either to play or to know exist, and this applies to Bethesda and EA as well (abeit Sony having more than one or two games that fit that category). Nintendo, Ubi, and Microsoft not only surprised us, but they also showed a lot of games that looked interesting/fun to play. Admittedly, my preference order has not changed because of this (I ain't never buying an Xbox anytime soon), but in terms of conferences I can't help but agree with y'all.
I saw things pros and cons for all the conferences. Not really feeling like anything stood out especially from the others. We got a lot of games we've seen before which is okay, but not the most exciting. And a lot less release dates and games coming soon than expected. Sony had the least surprises for us, but the games the showed again are looking awesome. Microsoft had several new titles/surprises, coupled with hardware and platform announcements which helps excitement imo. Nintendo showed a couple surprises but none we'll likely see in the next 12 months. That said, mario looks great.
Personally I thought Xbox did best. They did exactly what Greg and Tim always say they want from conferences, which is game announcement after game announcement. The console announcement was exciting, and then 44 games of all variations and genres. Loved it. The big miss was putting the porche on stage. It was a nice car, and I love Forza, but c'mon, thats not why were here. And I didn't care for the gimicks on Sony's stage like the hanging zombie actors.

Nintendo is giving a pretty solid 2017 holiday of games for switch if we are looking at it as a new console, which it is. They are throwing out a bunch of big hitters this year and who cares if any are ports. If you have a Wii U and no switch you have a right to be disappointed, if you never touched the Wii U with a 10 foot pole you have no grounds to be salty. Mario Kart is awesome and Breath of the Wild is just woo doggy.
Sooooo EA spent too much time on madden? They showed ZERO gameplay... I hate when "gaming professional" look down on sports games. Real gamers can appreciate games from every genre. Am I wrong?

Nintendo had the perfect mix of games coming now and ones to be excited for. It really wasn't that close this year.
While it's completely subjective who showed the better games or had the best conference, I will agree that Nintendo did have a really good balance of things to be excited about for the remainder of the year, what's coming in the near future, and then just a tease about the far off beyond that.

Why does there have to be a winner? Can we not all just enjoy video games as a whole? Why does there have to be a battle about everything? They all have their place and I enjoy them all. I am going to get my Xbox One X, and I am going to enjoy playing it the same way that I enjoy playing my Switch and PS4.

I'll give Nintendo credit for Splatoon and Arms, even if I have no interest in them but it hardly compares to say Sony's massive list of big IPs! Hell i think the only big series that Sony have stuck with from the ps1 all the way through to ps4 is GT but again, its just an opinion, no need to take it so seriously

I watched every press confrence and I preferred the Xbox and Bethesda ones personally, whos gonna give you 6 teraflops... X gonna give it to ya!
I think if you deliver the hype, you win e3. Imo Nintendo did that a little bit better than the others.
It's not the best indicator but man there weren't a lot of people really excited for Xbox One X. I think at $500 that is going to be a hard system to market. Especially when people can play a majority of those games on PC.

I think it's pretty obvious who the best is... Atari's new 7800 is coming next year I hear. 8 bit graphics and backwards compatibility. Better than the 5200.

I enjoyed all of the conferences besides EA's, I do agree that Nintendo won for best conference, simply because i will most likely play all the games that were announced. Sony and Microsoft were about the same for me, nothing amazing but still good. The only reason i liked Ubisofts conference was because of the Beyond Good and Evil 2 announcement, I know it's still a long way off until that game gets released but the first game is still one of my all time favorite games. Seems like we're going to be getting a lot of games toward the later months of the year, which is fine, i have plenty of backlog games i need to catch up on in the meantime. Great video as always :)

All I wanted was Bloodborne 2 and instead they showed me a tonne of games we already knew about and none even coming this year or even with proper dates. Extremely upset with the Sony conference tbh
I base it off what I see with gameplay and Sony blew it out of the water with here's our games and here's actual gameplay that's all I want and I got it. I love Nintendo but a lot of the games I wasn't into other than Kirby and Mario

Cos Microsoft's and Ubisoft's were pretty much the same... everyone had good pacing this year except EA.
Tim says the best conferences are the ones that guide you through and have something for everyone, but Sony's and Nintendo's didn't guide you through and there wasn't a lot of variety in Sony's.
PlayStation showed trailers for 2 DLC's, one of which we already saw gameplay of last year. They show a God of War trailer when we already got a gameplay sessions last year. We get another trailer for Detroit. We get another gameplay for Days Gone, which was cool. Besides that we had an announcement for a remake of a game that we had a HD remaster of already, but still nice, and a Monster Hunter game that isn't exclusive. Besides a spectacular Spider-Man gameplay (no pun intended), the rest of the conference was just VR. Sony didn't really show anything new that's exclusive, stop viewing it as a win.
Without watching the video IMO Nintendo hands down had the best conference

93brice I would agree but I don't think it's fair to compare. Every other conference had to compete with double the time, Microsoft with 3 times longer. If Nintendo had double their time there'd be a stupid amount of filler as well.
Yes and no I would agree there would boring filler if Nintendo was longer but one that was there choice to make it shorter and two all their announcements trumped anything I seen this E3 but would have made Sony and Microsoft a lot closer I can agree with that

Metroid 4 wont be on the switch till....2019 if not longer,zelda took what 3 yrs,after they showed it,and they had game footage then.
I like Nintendo but the promise of more third party support has yet to be met... we all expected metroid and pokemon to show up on the switch... who wants to bet that we'll get a smash bro's on the switch eventually as well?... I guess i was expecting some new multiplat launching on the switch like south park or something.

Nintendo and Ubisoft, easily. Nintendo made me happy I owned a Switch, Ubi just really surprised me.
I honestly thought Nintendo's was trash. The two best announcements had no footage at all, Xenoblade looks like a PS2 game, and there where like barely any 3rd party software. It would of been cool to see that new DBZ game come to switch for instance.

It's Kinda Funny (pun intended) how the audience for these guys is clearly different from the majority of the internet. I have been watching TH-cam videos all day for days about E3 and the rest of the internet is clearly in favour that Ubisoft is the winner with Sony being a clear second. Come in here though and it's like Nintendo was the only conference. Most other people think Nintendo was ok with a lot of great things announced but nothing great shown. Just saying, it's Kinda Funny.
Pretty sure you weren't checking all of the Internet there. Where I was going everyone was saying Nintendo won and that Ubisoft was second. Shows that we both went to bias location so we don't really know how the whole internet feels. But one thing that I know is some people like to hate on Nintendo (especially sony and microsoft fanboys) so they won't accept an e3 win from Nintendo.
Obviously, I haven't checked the whole internet. That would be quite literally impossible. And yes, maybe the places I checked were biased. Bias is one of those unavoidable things. I don't think that to be the case though, some of these places if anything were very obviously biased against Sony or Ubisoft even and yet they still thought Sony won or Ubi won and not Nintendo. I haven't seen any other sites or communities that think Nintendo won other than this one either, not overwhelmingly anyways. I'm not saying they don't exist but you kinda need to look for them.
You are correct, people do like to hate on Nintendo, and with good reason. Nintendo has some shitty business practices, they are slow to adopt new tech that they didn't develop, they don't play well with others and they don't really listen to what fans want so much as they dictate to their fans what they think their fans should want. That being said, Ubisoft is even worse as far as shitty business practices go and Sony gets way more hate from the Microsoft crowd than Nintendo. So again, I don't think that's the case.
I'm willing to admit the possibility that I'm wrong, but these are my observations. Not drawing any concrete conclusions, just reporting what I see.... and what I think is Kinda Funny. ;)
What? there is "Nintendo won E3" written everywhere, and Mario Odyssey is the most searched and watched game of this E3 and the most appreciated by the majority of the media. We can argue that Ubisoft had a better presentation, but Sony second not even in your dreams. (the only surprise of that conference was a remake of a great game sure, but still a remake)

well you should search for who won e3 videos.. almost everyone said Nintendo takes the cake and it's obvious that Nintendo won.... people just don't like to lose (Sony and Microsoft fanboys) most people will never agree that Nintendo won because of how they think Nintendo is only for kids (which I find kinda funny ;) ) but it depends on which company you follow and whoever you believe won then that's your opinion...but tbh Nintendo clearly won this year's e3
If Sony had come out with hypothetically a teaser image of Uncharted 5 or Microsoft came with a Halo 6 I don't think anyone would say they'd have won because of it.
Also with the Pokemon announcement it's the exact same thing. I think Sony won by a decent margin because while not everything shown was new the stuff that we saw all looked really good. Xbox showed far too much to try to entice everyone instead of focusing on maybe 4 or 5 real big ones.

Anthem and A Way Out were really impressive looking so EA is next. The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2 look good but were expected. Bonus points for both of them coming in 2017.
Microsoft is the only one that dropped the ball completely in my opinion. Xbox One X is a stupid name and probably won't sell at that price. The only new AAA exclusive they announced was Forza, which is niche. Crackdown 3 is in trouble I think and Sea of Thieves is not for me. State of Decay 2 might be cool but I'm not counting down the days to that either.

Nintendo has no 3rd party games coming. MH XX is not coming to the west. How is this different than the Wii U.
I'll never understand why people get so excited about Nintendo titles. I liked them when I was 10 but at 26 years old they're nowhere near as exciting. An open world Zelda is just another open world game to me.

I agree nintendo won but it wasn't amazing in anyway but, expectations were so low for them. Sony has knocked it out of the park 4 years straight since 2013. Sony had expectations it had to meet and while a solid show it wasn't better than 2013, 2014, 2015, or 2016.
