Sir the point is that even in Andrew Heywood it is not mentioned that invasion of Afghanistan is not a reason for communism's collapse.
It is outrightly wrong to reject the statement, we can't take the words of some book as gospels of truth- he may have identified these reasons but can't there be anymore?
The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan was one of several factors contributing to the downfall of the USSR:
1. Economic Strain: The war in Afghanistan was costly for the Soviet Union both financially and militarily. It drained resources from an already struggling Soviet economy, exacerbating existing economic problems such as stagnation and inefficiency. The financial burden of the war contributed to economic strain and further weakened the Soviet state.
2. Military Morale and Losses: The Soviet military suffered significant casualties and faced fierce resistance from Afghan guerilla fighters, which undermined morale and raised questions about the efficacy of Soviet military power. The protracted conflict eroded confidence in the Soviet leadership and military establishment.
3. International Isolation: The invasion of Afghanistan led to condemnation from much of the international community and strained Soviet relations with Western countries. The Soviet Union faced diplomatic isolation and economic sanctions, further weakening its position on the world stage.
4. Domestic Dissent: The war in Afghanistan exacerbated existing domestic discontent within the Soviet Union. The conflict highlighted the failures of Soviet policies and priorities, fueling dissent and opposition to the government.
5. Drain on Resources: The Soviet Union's commitment to the war in Afghanistan diverted resources away from addressing pressing domestic issues, such as economic reform and social welfare. This misallocation of resources contributed to the overall decline of the Soviet economy and weakened the government's ability to govern effectively

The Question related to squence the books of Karl Marx in according to their Publishing time was wrong as The German Ideology was first published in 1932, but it was not the last in order in any option, This Question must be challenged.
yes, it should be challenged because there is no evidence that the book was published in 1845/46

how can balwant rai is correct? it was formed to look into CDP(community dev prog) and NES(national extension service), in no way it talked specifically about panchayati raj. singhvi comm particularly talks about panchayati raj and was first to ask for legalisation or accord constitutional status. please look into it sir.

There are more than half a dozen committee on panchayati Raj institutions but the first and fore most was Balwant Rai Mehta committee ..yes it is correct that it was constituted to look into the working of community development program but it came out with recommendations on 3 tear panchayati Raj ...in fact most of its recommendations find place in the final amendment act passed in the parliament hence in my view nta is correct in giving preference to this committee over the LM Singhvi commitee... but NTA should not have asked such question because BOTH THE COMMITTEE WERE RELATED TO PANCHAYATI RAJ INSTITUTIONS

@SumitGuptaGGB to get in jnu you must need 230 and above coz one of my friend said who already in jnu that in 2022 Paper was very easy nd cutoff gone somewhere 255 for general in jnu . So put the same statistics this year too

If we go through the NCERT Political Science of class 12 World Politics, it may be gleaned that the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan did harm the already devastated USSR economy. However, cultural and economic forces somewhat led to and accelerated the end of Communism. For eg, when people of East saw rapid economic growth in the West Germany, opening up of MacDonald stores, music concerts, media & films circulation etc all led to rising aspirations among common folks of USSR.
So, NTA official answer key could be correct here.

Marx said that it is the 'base' (economic structure) constituted by its relations of production which determines the 'superstructure' (polity, law etc). It is 'economic forces which shape the course of history and not the ideas'.
