I remember when there were neopet happy meals (aging myself here) and I would BEG my parents to get me happy meals just for the neopet inside and we would trade them at my daycare such good times!! I never got to play the game because we didn’t have internet though so now I can live my childhood dream!!
I went out of my way and saved almost 10 dollars just so I could buy 5 or 6? I needed those codes! The speckled or starry painted chombies! The memories come back ❤

Man… as someone who always sucked at restocking I feel a weird satisfaction knowing it’s not really a thing anymore, but also insanely angry that bots are what ruined it. I was always salty though cause my internet is and was so garbage it made restocking impossible.

I remember I first started to play Neopets around 2006 when I got my first computer and low-key, I was OBSESSED with it. Neopets was pretty much on par with Club Penguin; literally everyone and anyone was talking about it. You couldn't meet a single person who didn't have an account, or at the very least, some basic knowledge of what Neopets was. I haven't played in a very long time, I think I stopped somewhere around 2010 after I lost the password to my account and I couldn't access my email, so it sort of faded to obscurity. But seeing Amanda's fresh and informative introspective on Neopets, sprinkled with some of her on-brand wit and humor, honestly makes me want to make a new account and start anew from the ground up.

I've been playing Neopets on and off since I was 9 (33 now!). Been around since the very beginning, and it's been so crazy seeing all the ups and downs of the website, and how much it has changed, but also.. in a way, stayed the same. This, plus Neopets more present social media presence these days, has really inspired me to log back in and hopefully get back into the swing of playing!

"Neopets is hard" that is so true! I played neopets in the portuguese "server " and while I was out for some years, all the servers (outside the english one) went down.. I heard neopets were coming back and I decided to see how it was, I found my old account and I was having fun.. But I was stuck in the non-existent portuguese server with even more broken code and with weird glimpses of the english one... It took me hours to simply EXIT the server and put the page in full english... I felt like me and my neopets were existing in a parallel universe that looked alright but the more we stayed, the more stranger it got... Like the universe was slowing broking and we saw through wormholes (probably some broken codes and forgotten links) what the real universe should be like and all I had to do to end this was switch to the english option but I didn't knew how! I don't know how my child self managed to play this shit

I'm old and playing again. Neopets is so diverse and quite educational. You can run a shop, invest in stocks, negotiate deals on the trading post... there's simple physics games like Golf, puzzle games... you can get jobs and you have to figure out what'll make you the most points... There is way more to Neopets than a lot of games (like Animal Crossing) that people aren't "ashamed" of to play. And like you said... it hasn't died in over 20 years! (I was THERE in '99!) If they just stop massing with it... like that NFT nonsense... and actually developed it, Disney will come a-knocking before long.

The Baby Pteri is the funniest baby pet. TIP: If your pet gets sick, but the cure is too expensive or hard to find, feed your pet some poisonous jelly. This will literally replace the illness your pet has with NeoMonia. The cure, medicinal soap, is generally one of the easier cures to get.

I've stuck around this whole time due to the Art community that surrounds the Beauty Contest - I cannot describe how satisfying it feels to earn BC trophies for your pet lookups. Neopets genuinely fueled my insanely high art output in middle/high school. The site's been in a rough shape for the last ~5 years, but it's great to see things are turning around. And I love finding people like you who love the site as much as me 😄

I played it all the time when I was a kid. I remember when McDonald's had the toys with the codes attached to the toys. I would be in the playplace (I was a kid lol) and would pick up tags that other kids would rip off because the codes gave you online prizes like paintbrushes and the like XD
i joined Neopets about a month ago on a whim, never played it in my life, only really knew it from hearsay and PetPet Park(which i DID play, extensively) and then around that time new started coming out about neopets and it's been really exciting to see just checked, my first neopet is over 40 days old, n like,, im so proud!!! I feel lucky being able to experience all this(even though i'm constantly faced with reminder that I'm missing out on a lot of flash-based content) I've been having fun wandering around the map, playing solitaire(its all i do, i swear) and feeding my pets. I just started this video because I have never once understood how to play neopets. I loved the look of it as a kid and even had a Jubjub plush I got from Limited Too. I would always try to make an account but because 1. I couldn’t have a pink and blue Jubjub immediately to match my plush and 2. I just couldn’t understand how to start, i never got far with it. Also, that bunny is adorable, its like her head wasn’t screwed on all the way.

Also saving up to buy map pieces! There are several, but the most sought-after ones are lab ray and pet pet lab ray which give random affects including species and color change, and the forgotten beach which can give dubloons and 10k np!
I'm just starting the video now but I'm so excited for this. Your Neopets video a couple months ago got me thinking about Neopets again for the first time in over 10 years. When I heard about the leadership change a couple weeks ago, I decided to get back into it and I've been having so much fun. I was lucky I was able to get back into my old account (albeit it getting hacked and all my stuff stolen) so I wasn't starting from complete scratch. I've been seeing so many other returning players. It's very exciting!
I just got back into Neopets after almost a decade of not playing because of Maybe: Salem talking about it and then TH-cam recommending things to me, and this video cleared up some things for me so thanks so much! I really am praying for the true Neopets renaissance it deserves.
Hi friend! Local bunny professional here. A few things that cause wry neck (the head tilt) are treatable! An inner ear infection or e. Cuniculi. can both cause it. You can treat with Fenbendazole! Things like Panacur or Safeguard (my preference) have fenbendazole as their active ingredient. Safeguard (goat liquid) is a safe drug that can be bought online. Sometimes more than 30 days is needed. 1st week: 0.3cc per pound 2-3rd week: 0.2cc per pound 4th week+: 0.1CC per pound. I know you may have already had her looked at, but I just wanted to offer up an idea of how to help her :)
oh yeah he’s a longterm EC bunny! he was rescued as a baby from a backyard breeder with an untreated EC flare up, and as a result his tilt is totally permanent. the rescue he spent the first year of his life with put him through his initial treatments and now he’s doing really good with just the occasional roll here & there. we keep a supply of fenbendazole & meclizine to use as needed & we keep an eye on him for flare ups & to make sure his down-eye is hanging in there and what not!! thank you SO much for sharing all this here!!! it’s awesome to see experts like you readily sharing information in case its needed. it’s really hard to find straightforward, reputable advice about e. Cuniculi & how to prevent the lasting neurological impacts that Rootbeer is living with now as a result of his initial caretakers not treating it. I can’t imagine being the owner of a rabbit who wakes up one day with a tilt out of no where and not knowing what to do, & I know it happens a lot! i’m lucky enough to have a background in vet med & have an awesome exotic vet team that help me give him the best possible quality of life we can, but even i didnt know much about it before meeting & adopting Rootbeer, so it’s definitely something that more rabbit owners need to be educated about!💕

Some other tips/suggestions... - If you have an old account from the early 00s and haven't logged in since the 00s it's prob gone because they purged inactive accounts back then, you can always check, but this is just a heads-up because it happened to my very first account from like 2002-ish 😅 - There are actually a couple of sites that list pets that are stuck in the pound, this can be a good way to get painted pets or even occasionally the limited pets for newbies. - If you're on the NeoBoards be careful to only mention official fansites (listed on the Community Central page) or you can get in trouble. - You can customise your userlookup and pet pages. Be careful to stick to things that are allowed, but you can absolutely make your pets into little OCs and use their pet psge like that if you like doing that kind of thing. There are also premade lookups which are a safe bet. - Collecting things in-game is really fun and lots of the items are adorable or funny. Jellyneo has item checklists. - If neohomes come back those are also really fun, it's a bit like a digital dollhouse type thing where you decorate the rooms, but it does cost NP. - Food Club is a really good way to make NP, I regularly get close to 1mill in under a month between that and other dailies. I'd recommend just looking it up and following someone else's bets, there's even a site that helps make placing the bets easier and how much you can get is tied to the age of your account so you should be fine once you've done your dailies for a while. - Stock market is also a good source of NP, eventually. The idea is to buy 1000 stocks at 15NP (or two sets of 500 stocks at 15NP while you build up variety) each day, and sell them when they hit a decent profit (I wait until they're over 110%). - This was touched on but as a reminder... Advent calender in December so you get free stuff every day you go collect it, and there's often an avatar. - It's worth chucking most of your junk in you safety deposit box. There's an avatar for 1000 different items, but also there are events that run where keeping junk that's labelled rare but doesn't sell for much is really useful. The last event like that had a Faerie Paint Brush as a prize you could get and it wasn't that hard to get if you do your dailies. - There are lists of the best games to play for the most NP if you want that. - The Daily Neopets is another website that is good for info. - NeoQuest 1 and 2 are fun and not bad for NP, there are step by step walkthroughs online. They take a bit of time but they're like really oldschool browser based RPG games. - If you like simulator or tycoon type games there's Plushie Tycoon which runs monthly and there are really good guides where if you folow them (and start on the 25th or 26th of the month) you can't go wrong (and can easily start over if you do) and it'll get you a trophy and an avatar as well as some NP if you make profit in it. It doesn't cost actual NP it's almost like a game within a game. - The maximum number of side accounts you can have is 4 (so 5 total accounts). Jellyneo has a good guide on what you can and can't do on them. I have 4 side accounts because I have a different theme going on each of them xD - If you get a Faerie Quest you can't use the Shop Wizard(s) but you can go to the NeoBoards and there's usually at least one board called something like "SSW help" in the "Quests" board where you can post the item you need, if not you can just make your own thread with the item you need in the title and usually someone will respond within minutes. - Daily/Weekly Quests were added this past month and that'll net you at least 20,000NP per day by itself if you finish all of your quests listed there every day, and most days there are more NP available. The shop at the Healing Springs counts for the "buy an item" quest so I'd recommend doing that that way if you have the patience. - Currently the cheapest food in user shops is "Gummy Pirate Candies" for like 2NP if you can't get soup from the Soup Faerie, and there's loads of those available. - Sometimes the apps for Neopets (you'll see them when you first go to the site or if you're not logged in) give some NP on the actual site. - If you can't fight Jetsam Ace in the Battledome there's the Koi Warrior or if you're not as strong the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot drops Neocola tokens which sell decently. (there are lots of guides though) - You can actually paint a pet multiple times and some colours come with clothes you get to keep. There's a few guides on this, but a popular one is to paint a pet Stealth colour then paint over it with glowing so you keep the clothes from stealth but the pet itself is a different colour. Any wearables you get this way you keep in your closet and can mix and match. Just make sure to do the one without clothes (the actual pet colour) last. I did it accidentally once not knowing it was a thing and it turned out so pretty! There are lists of which pet colours give wearables, and which can't wear them. That last tip is more for down the line, but might be handy for coming up with dreamies. Pretty much all of the tips have further info online which is pretty easy to track down and I'm probably not saying anything people don't know. I've played for yonks, my original account was made in like 2002 or something. My current main is like 13 years old and I've came and went a couple of times but played at least a little bit each year. I agree that so many of the recent changes/additions to the site really are pretty promising and exciting. Even considering I've been playing all that time, I still got new info from this video! I actually didn't knoe that that was how the wishing well worked. I used to put a couple NP in as a kid and an item and obviously nothing happened so I guessed that it was just a random activity that didn't do much. It seems like a good way for me to actually do what I was trying to do as a kid and work on growing my usuki and plushie collections because some of that stuff gets costly 😅 I'm really hoping that once they finish getting things tidied up they'll bring some new sparkle to NeoHomes. I also really want them to bring back the Habitarium game, it seems like a great chance to bring it back, it was a good source of NP and it was really fun. Of course that's for later, they have a massive job on their hands rn as it is! (not to mention the show that's coming eek) -please excuse any typos! (also the length)

I absolutely adore the Altador quest. It cant get reaaaally hard, so I recommend you use a guide. It's soooo fun! You technically need Flash, but there are ways to get around that

Another useful tip: Grarrls and Skeiths can eat any kind of item! So you can feed them all that trash you find! But be careful too, sometimes they eat stuff on their own, so don't leave rare items in your inventory 😅

I remember I first started to play Neopets around 2006 when I got my first computer and low-key, I was OBSESSED with it. Neopets was pretty much on par with Club Penguin; literally everyone and anyone was talking about it. You couldn't meet a single person who didn't have an account, or at the very least, some basic knowledge of what Neopets was. I haven't played in a very long time, I think I stopped somewhere around 2010 after I lost the password to my account and I couldn't access my email, so it sort of faded to obscurity. But seeing Amanda's fresh and informative introspective on Neopets, sprinkled with some of her on-brand wit and humor, honestly makes me want to make a new account and start anew from the ground up.

I've been playing Neopets on and off since I was 9 (33 now!). Been around since the very beginning, and it's been so crazy seeing all the ups and downs of the website, and how much it has changed, but also.. in a way, stayed the same. This, plus Neopets more present social media presence these days, has really inspired me to log back in and hopefully get back into the swing of playing!
i was expecting a few tutorials and was delighted to see a more 'philosophical' take. i think a lot of older games where you set your own goals freak out new players

"Neopets is hard" that is so true! I played neopets in the portuguese "server " and while I was out for some years, all the servers (outside the english one) went down.. I heard neopets were coming back and I decided to see how it was, I found my old account and I was having fun.. But I was stuck in the non-existent portuguese server with even more broken code and with weird glimpses of the english one... It took me hours to simply EXIT the server and put the page in full english... I felt like me and my neopets were existing in a parallel universe that looked alright but the more we stayed, the more stranger it got... Like the universe was slowing broking and we saw through wormholes (probably some broken codes and forgotten links) what the real universe should be like and all I had to do to end this was switch to the english option but I didn't knew how!

Neopets is so diverse and quite educational. You can run a shop, invest in stocks, negotiate deals on the trading post... there's simple physics games like Golf, puzzle games... you can get jobs and you have to figure out what'll make you the most points...
There is way more to Neopets than a lot of games (like Animal Crossing) that people aren't "ashamed" of to play. And like you said... it hasn't died in over 20 years! (I was THERE in '99!)
If they just stop massing with it... like that NFT nonsense... and actually developed it, Disney will come a-knocking before long.

TIP: If your pet gets sick, but the cure is too expensive or hard to find, feed your pet some poisonous jelly. This will literally replace the illness your pet has with NeoMonia. The cure, medicinal soap, is generally one of the easier cures to get.

I've been playing on and off since probably 2001ish. I've stuck around this whole time due to the Art community that surrounds the Beauty Contest - I cannot describe how satisfying it feels to earn BC trophies for your pet lookups. Neopets genuinely fueled my insanely high art output in middle/high school. The site's been in a rough shape for the last ~5 years, but it's great to see things are turning around. And I love finding people like you who love the site as much as me 😄
The BC contests + my dad pirating photoshop when I was ten= the two single most formative things in my life, no joke. I was an art major. And it started with a zafara with way too much dodge and burn

I played it all the time when I was a kid. I remember when McDonald's had the toys with the codes attached to the toys. I would be in the playplace (I was a kid lol) and would pick up tags that other kids would rip off because the codes gave you online prizes like paintbrushes and the like XD
i joined Neopets about a month ago on a whim, never played it in my life, only really knew it from hearsay and PetPet Park(which i DID play, extensively) and then around that time new started coming out about neopets and it's been really exciting to see
just checked, my first neopet is over 40 days old, n like,, im so proud!!! I feel lucky being able to experience all this(even though i'm constantly faced with reminder that I'm missing out on a lot of flash-based content) I've been having fun wandering around the map, playing solitaire(its all i do, i swear) and feeding my pets. I just started this video because I have never once understood how to play neopets. I loved the look of it as a kid and even had a Jubjub plush I got from Limited Too. I would always try to make an account but because 1. I couldn’t have a pink and blue Jubjub immediately to match my plush and 2. I just couldn’t understand how to start, i never got far with it. Also, that bunny is adorable, its like her head wasn’t screwed on all the way.

Also saving up to buy map pieces! There are several, but the most sought-after ones are lab ray and pet pet lab ray which give random affects including species and color change, and the forgotten beach which can give dubloons and 10k np!

I'm just starting the video now but I'm so excited for this. Your Neopets video a couple months ago got me thinking about Neopets again for the first time in over 10 years. When I heard about the leadership change a couple weeks ago, I decided to get back into it and I've been having so much fun. I was lucky I was able to get back into my old account (albeit it getting hacked and all my stuff stolen) so I wasn't starting from complete scratch. I've been seeing so many other returning players. It's very exciting!

Hi friend! Local bunny professional here. A few things that cause wry neck (the head tilt) are treatable! An inner ear infection or e. Cuniculi. can both cause it.
You can treat with Fenbendazole! Things like Panacur or Safeguard (my preference) have fenbendazole as their active ingredient. Safeguard (goat liquid) is a safe drug that can be bought online. Sometimes more than 30 days is needed.
1st week: 0.3cc per pound
2-3rd week: 0.2cc per pound
4th week+: 0.1CC per pound.
I know you may have already had her looked at, but I just wanted to offer up an idea of how to help her :)
Oh and if you do try it make sure to give her plenty of roughage and maybe some pumpkin to help keep her tummy feeling good :)
oh yeah he’s a longterm EC bunny! he was rescued as a baby from a backyard breeder with an untreated EC flare up, and as a result his tilt is totally permanent. the rescue he spent the first year of his life with put him through his initial treatments and now he’s doing really good with just the occasional roll here & there. we keep a supply of fenbendazole & meclizine to use as needed & we keep an eye on him for flare ups & to make sure his down-eye is hanging in there and what not!!

I can’t imagine being the owner of a rabbit who wakes up one day with a tilt out of no where and not knowing what to do, & I know it happens a lot! i’m lucky enough to have a background in vet med & have an awesome exotic vet team that help me give him the best possible quality of life we can, but even i didnt know much about it before meeting & adopting Rootbeer, so it’s definitely something that more rabbit owners need to be educated about!💕

I remember playing Neopets at University in the early 00s. Great to see it's still going!
Some other tips/suggestions...
- If you have an old account from the early 00s and haven't logged in since the 00s it's prob gone because they purged inactive accounts back then, you can always check, but this is just a heads-up because it happened to my very first account from like 2002-ish 😅
- There are actually a couple of sites that list pets that are stuck in the pound, this can be a good way to get painted pets or even occasionally the limited pets for newbies.
- If you're on the NeoBoards be careful to only mention official fansites (listed on the Community Central page) or you can get in trouble.
- You can customise your userlookup and pet pages. Be careful to stick to things that are allowed, but you can absolutely make your pets into little OCs and use their pet psge like that if you like doing that kind of thing. There are also premade lookups which are a safe bet.
- Collecting things in-game is really fun and lots of the items are adorable or funny. Jellyneo has item checklists.
- If neohomes come back those are also really fun, it's a bit like a digital dollhouse type thing where you decorate the rooms, but it does cost NP.
- Food Club is a really good way to make NP, I regularly get close to 1mill in under a month between that and other dailies. I'd recommend just looking it up and following someone else's bets, there's even a site that helps make placing the bets easier and how much you can get is tied to the age of your account so you should be fine once you've done your dailies for a while.
- Stock market is also a good source of NP, eventually. The idea is to buy 1000 stocks at 15NP (or two sets of 500 stocks at 15NP while you build up variety) each day, and sell them when they hit a decent profit (I wait until they're over 110%).
- This was touched on but as a reminder... Advent calender in December so you get free stuff every day you go collect it, and there's often an avatar.
- It's worth chucking most of your junk in you safety deposit box. There's an avatar for 1000 different items, but also there are events that run where keeping junk that's labelled rare but doesn't sell for much is really useful. The last event like that had a Faerie Paint Brush as a prize you could get and it wasn't that hard to get if you do your dailies.
- There are lists of the best games to play for the most NP if you want that.
- The Daily Neopets is another website that is good for info.
- NeoQuest 1 and 2 are fun and not bad for NP, there are step by step walkthroughs online. They take a bit of time but they're like really oldschool browser based RPG games.
- If you like simulator or tycoon type games there's Plushie Tycoon which runs monthly and there are really good guides where if you folow them (and start on the 25th or 26th of the month) you can't go wrong (and can easily start over if you do) and it'll get you a trophy and an avatar as well as some NP if you make profit in it. It doesn't cost actual NP it's almost like a game within a game.
- The maximum number of side accounts you can have is 4 (so 5 total accounts). Jellyneo has a good guide on what you can and can't do on them. I have 4 side accounts because I have a different theme going on each of them xD
- If you get a Faerie Quest you can't use the Shop Wizard(s) but you can go to the NeoBoards and there's usually at least one board called something like "SSW help" in the "Quests" board where you can post the item you need, if not you can just make your own thread with the item you need in the title and usually someone will respond within minutes.
- Daily/Weekly Quests were added this past month and that'll net you at least 20,000NP per day by itself if you finish all of your quests listed there every day, and most days there are more NP available. The shop at the Healing Springs counts for the "buy an item" quest so I'd recommend doing that that way if you have the patience.
- Currently the cheapest food in user shops is "Gummy Pirate Candies" for like 2NP if you can't get soup from the Soup Faerie, and there's loads of those available.
- Sometimes the apps for Neopets (you'll see them when you first go to the site or if you're not logged in) give some NP on the actual site.
- If you can't fight Jetsam Ace in the Battledome there's the Koi Warrior or if you're not as strong the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot drops Neocola tokens which sell decently. (there are lots of guides though)
- You can actually paint a pet multiple times and some colours come with clothes you get to keep. There's a few guides on this, but a popular one is to paint a pet Stealth colour then paint over it with glowing so you keep the clothes from stealth but the pet itself is a different colour. Any wearables you get this way you keep in your closet and can mix and match. Just make sure to do the one without clothes (the actual pet colour) last. I did it accidentally once not knowing it was a thing and it turned out so pretty! There are lists of which pet colours give wearables, and which can't wear them.
That last tip is more for down the line, but might be handy for coming up with dreamies. Pretty much all of the tips have further info online which is pretty easy to track down and I'm probably not saying anything people don't know.
I've played for yonks, my original account was made in like 2002 or something. My current main is like 13 years old and I've came and went a couple of times but played at least a little bit each year. I agree that so many of the recent changes/additions to the site really are pretty promising and exciting.
Even considering I've been playing all that time, I still got new info from this video! I actually didn't knoe that that was how the wishing well worked. I used to put a couple NP in as a kid and an item and obviously nothing happened so I guessed that it was just a random activity that didn't do much. It seems like a good way for me to actually do what I was trying to do as a kid and work on growing my usuki and plushie collections because some of that stuff gets costly 😅
I'm really hoping that once they finish getting things tidied up they'll bring some new sparkle to NeoHomes. I also really want them to bring back the Habitarium game, it seems like a great chance to bring it back, it was a good source of NP and it was really fun. Of course that's for later, they have a massive job on their hands rn as it is! (not to mention the show that's coming eek)

I absolutely adore the Altador quest. It cant get reaaaally hard, so I recommend you use a guide. It's soooo fun! You technically need Flash, but there are ways to get around that

Another useful tip: Grarrls and Skeiths can eat any kind of item! So you can feed them all that trash you find!
But be careful too, sometimes they eat stuff on their own, so don't leave rare items in your inventory 😅
