This video is a good example of the Doppler Effect.
What is Doppler effect?

Literally any video of a vehicle with a siren driving past the cameraman “is a good example of the Doppler Effect.”

I live in New York City, so every once and a blue moon I hear the Powercall Siren here, it's so rare but sounds like the most perfect Siren, even with a Rumbler added to it.

I think there is a savage history behind it. Don’t quote me on this but I think long time ago, someone hit that ambo and claimed that it didn’t have enough lights and won I think.
So those savage people added everything they could find.

They are fairly uncommon here in the US
I’ve never heard the Powercall in Western New York. It’s really common in Pennsylvania though.
Starting to become more common in new jersey
Pittsburgh area, it’s standard. Along with a Q, you’ll hear fire run power call usually on T1 of most siren models. Manual is usually faster powercall.

Kal-El people complain about how much noise it makes, which I can respect because of the insane amount of calls they go on.
Why do you think they loved the PA300? They just used the manual...it was short and to the point...when you run 10-25 times in 24 hours, constantly listening to sirens can annoy you after a while.

@@sigsourr No, they switched because too many people thought it was a "police car siren" so they went with the E2QB to have the fire apparatus stand out

A lot of people don't like the Powercall, but I do. It sounds like the gates of hell have opened, and the devil himself is stepping out. Its a real show stopper.

3:16 was definitely not exactly that tiny rescue truck but that would be awesome for tight streets almost like how tillers are better for tight area because they have more maneuverability.

Our town has a powercall on the ladder and the heavy rescue only heard it on the rescue once and they use it on the ladder like once every 3 months and when they do it’s for like 2 seconds and then they switch tones
A lot of towns around here have them too but unfortunately it is also rarely used
