"... I repeat my former Advice, that in all your Amours you should prefer old Women to young ones ... Because there is no hazard of Children, which irregularly produc'd may be attended with much Inconvenience ... Because thro' more Experience, they are more prudent and discreet in conducting an Intrigue to prevent Suspicion ... and lastly they are so grateful." - Benjamin Franklin, Inventor, Founding Father, and Cougar Hunter.

@@chewie2055 I know this comment was written two months ago but when Benjamin Franklin was young he was considered very fit, even athletic looking for his time and very handsome. Not only that but I think that quote he may have wrote it around the time of his prime if not maybe around the time he was leaving his prime but before age took him over, but it was definitely way before the American Revolutionary War even first started.

In real life Franklin was observed doing the full monty with a French maid, though I don't recall by whom. Franklin called it "the ungovernable passion." In his youth he was a real stud, a man all of greatly charm and intelligence, and physically fit. Being a printer in those days was a total workout, all day every day. Save the Sabbath, perhaps.
In his later days he was world famous, which didn't hurt.

I haven’t seen this series yet, but it looks like an actor’s dream. The actors have to convey the emotions and tensions while speaking in lofty English. Obviously, we don’t know if these people spoke like that in casual conversation, but it’s probably pretty close.
I also like how every character had an accent that was on a spectrum between British and Modern American, and I bet they did a LOT of research to see what their accents were probably like. The idea of being eloquent gentlemen was certainly important, and their accents were probably very close to British, Irish and Scottish (depending on where the characters grew up, and where they were educated).

@dreamerboy84, the Continental Congress made Franklin sole diplomat to France, a.k.a. they were kicking Adams out of his job in France. John was too honest to be a good diplomat and he wasn't as conceding a negotiator as Franklin. He ruffled a lot of feathers at the French court, so Congress thought it best to send him elsewhere. Poor John!

I wasn't as annoyed as I was scared. That face haunted my nightmares. :O
I don't mean that towards the actress, she did a great job in the role, but they could've given her some less-scary makeup...

@zbt518, wow! How cool, I didn't know that! Makes sense though, considering there were so many double-agents in France spying on the Americans at that time. It's a wonder how Mr. Adams and Franklin got anything done with so many eyes watching them. xD Thanks for the comment! :)
