Nice informative video about speaker box building project. For those who have not done so, please just watch what tools and materials being used for specific tasks, so that you can cut down some of the errors in building your own. One of the advise I'd give is the box material...It is the plywood the poster used. I'd suggest using MDF (medium density fiber board) which provides better acoustic performance.

MDF could have better acoustic performance, but all books I've read about acoustic cabinet construction recomends using good quality plywood. Specially if the cabinets are going to be used outdoors or on stage, they resist abuse better.

For outdoor uses, A UV resistant/waterproofing coating (or vinyl covering) on the MDF is better...For indoor used, spray paint or wood vneneer on the MDF will do, depending on your taste/decoration requirements.
