    Thank you so much for your wonderful video. i feel like I understand when I listen. but i have trouble in practicing with the exercise. Here is an example: Use the AS-AD curve to analyse the impact of of the events on the domestic output, overall price level, and unemployment in short-run. Draw the AS-AD diagram to illustrate:
    a/ The government raises the tariff on oil imported
    b/ The domestic interest rate increases significantly due to tighten monetary policy.
    c/ The world economy starts to recover.
    Can you help me to solve this? I hope to receive your response soon.

    It is not inflation on the vertical axis, it is the price level

      This model is slightly different, it's tied to their book. This is actually a DYNAMIC aggregate supply and DYNAMIC aggregate demand model, not the traditional AD&AS model. Rather than looking at price levels and output, they are looking at the changes in these variables. So the changes to price levels are inflation, and the changes to output is growth. This is also why the AD curve has variables with vector notation over it - to represent the changes in these rates. By doing this they are able to look at how the economy is changing over time without having to know anything about it's current levels. Personally, it would be easier if they used the notation of DAD and DAS rather than AD &AS to prevent this confusion.

      I see but this must be noted clearly on the tile as this is not the standard AD-AS model the students are used to.

      @@perrygogas Watch their earlier videos and you will know that price level and inflation rate are the same :)

    • @perrygogas
      @perrygogas 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AW-zc1rf @Andre Weltjen inflation rate is the rate of change of the price level. Of course they are not the same. BTW, I am a professor of economics. I think I know what I'm saying. It is a dynamic model and should be stated.

    • @AW-zc1rf
      @AW-zc1rf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@perrygogas Yes, you are right, my words they are the same were wrong, but those are depending on each other. To understand this AD-AS model you need the know and understand the quantity of money theory anyway and then you should get those things. In addition, they have the real gdp growth "rate" on the horizontal. I had only one economic class and I do get what they are talking about. If you do not understand this model, you probably should refresh the basic model. No, I am not saying you do not understand it, just in general. And if you wanna be that accurate, they are saying "Using the AD-AS model" and not "explaining the AD-AS model" and there is a lot of space for interpretation.
      For me it was not confusing at all.

    It would be easier to pay attention to what she is saying if the music wasn't so loud. This really makes it difficult for someone with ADHD to concentrate.

    Wow - this is actually quite frightening. You've made up your own theory on Aggregate Demand! Aggregate Demand is made up of Consumption, Investment, Government Spending and Net Exports.........despite what monetarists tell you. Utterly baffling. No wonder it's only been viewed so little.
