My rosemary bushes are the lushes in the lands. Many can’t grow it or even able to keep it alive more than season. In 3 years my bushes are nearly 4 ft tall by 4ft tall, so bushy & lush.
Thank you. I'm about to put it in the ground, and the pruning tips are useful. I think I'll go a little lower than the bucket so the stems become roots and start pruning properly.
Thank you so much. Due to neglect mine has sprawled out very widely with a few leggy, woody stems. Now at least I have an idea on how to rejuvenate it once it has finished flowering. Spring in another 3 weeks so I’ll sharpen my shears. Mine is the Tuscan Blue variety. I don’t have a dehydrator so would it be okay to dry extra leaves in an oven?
Thankyou very much for this information, fellow gardner. I do have a query, I had to uproot and replace my potted rosemary which had root-rot due to heavy rains, would you happen to know how long does the garden variety species take to recover??
hI. Thanks for your sharing. I have three reosemary plant for 3 years. they never grow and now they are almost all brown. Are they dead? Should i throw it away and buy new plant? Thanks for any advice.
My first year for rosemary and im not sure what to do with it it was healthy all year then winter showed up and turned it brown is there any hope for it if i prune it, it is just the start of spring now. They have grown very tall not sure if i should prune or just see if they turn green yet, please advise, or should i just start over?i will just 😢 if i have to do that. I have 5 plants
I’ve got the same problem but my best bet would be to find the central area of the bush that you want to keep, then cut the really leggy parts right back down or off until you see a roundish or oval shape developing from the central area, then prune that back by 1/4 as she mentioned. You need to make sure to only prune it into the greener wood because the harder, browner wood won’t regrow as quickly if at all. Best of luck.
i wanna cry when you said that Rosemary can be hard pruned if the stem were already brown, i tossed it away with heavy heart because my cat poop on it and i didn't notice, after a week it become brown starting from the bottom 😭😭

Great video and easy to follow! Curious about the purple flowers though, cut them off, or let them dry naturally?

Fertilise with fish blood and bone and aggressively cut back. It will come back

okay but i need to cut the entire bush because it's overgrown so i need to more than tip prune. i need to take off entire 'branches'.

What is the most common issue ppl have with growing rosemary is they over water.
You’re right. It’s a hardy plant similar to lavender which doesn’t require a lot of water. I grow them both and only water them once a week.
