- How to Change the Side Marker lights from the Amber Colored light to the Clear Side Markers. This is an easy Do-it Yourself (DIY) Tutoria. Its an Easy change but couldn't find another tutorial out there specific to the 987 Cayman. Start the slow modification of the Porsche Cayman S to my liking. Enjoy!

FYI - DO NOT TAKE THE METAL CLIP OFF - That little metal clip you pulled out with a screw driver. Just press it in or down and it will release the connector.

Just press down on that metal clip dude and connector comes right off...no need to pry the clip out.

Don't pull the metal clip, simply push down it spreads its self open, super easy

I got mine from SunCoast Auto if you look it up there they will have OEM lights. Not sure pricing

Push the metal clip down and it unlatches
Just a heads-up. You know that clip that you struggle with and use you flat head screwdriver. It's easier if you just push it down right on top. It is designed to slide down.

I installed clear side markers a while ago on my 987.2 but I wish I had seen this since the motion to install the new one (back first and then front clip) is not what I did and I could never get the back to fully engage. I ultimately had to use double-sided tape to hold it in (you can't tell). I might go back now and do it again thanks to this video. Also, not noted or shown, I had to install resistors to avoid the bulb out warning light since my new ones are LED and draw less power. Not sure this is an issue for everyone since some may be using amber bullbs but I thought I'd call that out. To install the resistor I needed to remove the wheel well cover so I'd have room to install and mount the unit on metal (I used the fender support rod) but it wasn't hard to do once I turned the wheel (no need to remove the wheel but you can only do one side at a time since you have to turn the wheel comlpetely on one side which means it's blocking the other). The icon on the box is a wine glass not a bottle. That is a universal / all language indication that it is fragile .
