In essence, SCP-5001 is the real Heart of Mekhane (the piece used in the CoTBG's first attempt to resurrect Mekhane was an artificial recreation) and his consciousness is Omega. SCP-5001-A might be Yaldaboath, or something even worse, since it was stated that Mekhane contained Yaldaboath, which is why he was broken.

Ye, same here. This SCP is full of machines, so of course Mekhane is involved, perhaps Omega is like his sort of Daughter? And she is watching, making sure to keep the Devourer, be it Yaldabaoth or something of her spawn, is kept secure and contained
No, Omega is Mekhane's consciousness. "My children....one day you'll rise to a higher state of consciousness and being as I had always hoped..." Mekhane always wanted humans to take a step up on the "evolutionary" ladder and transfer our consciousness and being into purely technological forms that SCP-343 believes we are not ready for. But it's ability to counter the reality-bending abilities that an elder deity may have, and especially if you're of the mind that SCP-407 Song Of Genesis is somehow a recording of Yaldabaoth's voice, then it would make sense that The Devourer would be Yaldabaoth or one of it's earliest creations. But of course it's sufficiently vague enough
@@alexjfranco Another piece of evidence that supports this is the fact that after the incident, logs mention how some of the personnel working in 5001 were radically mutated and biologically harmed and that a disembodied voice could be heard demanding that they "Revert to its domain" which fits the agenda of Yaldabaoth pretty well.
Basically it's yaldaboath, the larger SCP Universe Canon seems to go with the narrative that Mekhane sacrificed himself to contain Yaldabaoth, becoming the broken God, and this facility is his body literally containing him. Another big hint its Mekhane is that the facility is called 5001-A or Alpha and the computer name happens to be Omega, hence "The Alpha and the Omega" as the God describes himself in the Bible he is the beginning and end of all things, like Mekhane.
@@ns0557212 Actually I think it’s very likely that SCP-5001 may be the TRUE heart of Mekhane. The one recovered during The Broken God 001 Proposal “aka SCP-882” was actually a fake that was created by another Group of Interest called The Factory. Plus when you think about it, the last statement from Omega’s message was “Directly from the center of my broken heart”.
I swear, any SCP that's in thousands tend to be one of the ones that are the most dangerous, out there, or the most reality breaking. I mean, look at SCP-2000, 3000, 5000, and 6000.
1000 is a species that possessed hi-tech when we were still hunting-gathering but lost all of it to us 2000 is a machine capable of resetting humanity if they're destroyed in some way 3000 is a big eel that produces amnestics 4000 is a forest that can't be called the same name twice 5000 is the perfect stealth suit 6000 is a branch of The Wanderer's Library leaking into reality
5001 is one of those SCPs that makes me think the Church of the Broken God is doing more harm than good. If this facility is Mekhane's true heart, the Church will undoubtedly release whatever evil is contained inside trying to rebuild their god (who probably won't even be fully rebuilt at the time either).
It is that the true followers of Mekhane were assassinated long ago. The Church of the Broken God is an altered and warped version of the ancient followers of Mekhane.
My sentiments exactly. All the blueprints of itself in several languages are likely there for people to find and help Mekhane improve or be maintained when Sarkicists or whoever attacks it. Same concept as Cthulhu. Whoever SCP-thulhus parents are keep brainwashing people with visions to end the world but all he wants to do is play Minecraft and be left alone.
The more we hear about the Broken God, the more I'm convinced the entity is a benevolent one as the Church says. Messing around with his parts do seem to cause death, but the entity itself does not seem malevolent.
In one SCP tale (called "When we came home") Mekhane was rebuilt and defended humanity from the other malevolent deities and things such as the Hanged King, the Factory and (other servants of) the Scarlet King. Yaldabaoth wasn't mentioned though.
Well, the heart from the Oroboros cycle was a fake made by the factory. 5001/Omega/Mekhane's true heart clearly wants a more beneficial, moral, individualistic version of humanity achieving 'Borg' status than the XK Class hell the Oroboros cycle gave us.
I mean to be fair he is a God and for mortals you should already know messing with anything God/Goddess related can either do good or do this...This being a fate that makes hell seem like heaven
I don't know if they exist, but it'll be refreshing and vindicating if you could make a video in which the Foundation's extensive experience with containing anomalies really does come into good use. There's been so many "The Foundation meddles too much with what shouldn't be touched" videos that it just seems to give them a probably unfair bad rep.
Yup, dudes are powerful enough to contain thousands of Cthulu-esque beings (along with literal Cthulu who's a pretty chill dude), determined enough to sacrifice all of humanity and themselves for the safety of the multiverse, smarter than any other scientific institution with hyper advanced understanding of all fields, clever enough to trick god like entities and they have Doctor Bright on top of all that, I'm pretty sure they would have tons of missions they just steamrolled cuz of how op they are.
Always love entries on the broken god! It's strange how many of the objects and even it's followers seem dangerous, but the entity itself is benevolent. Makes you wonder why the church wants to resurrect their god when it spent so much in order to contain it's counterpart. Nature vrs technology at the most extreme!
They probably wish to resurrect Mekhane so he can help lead humanity to a new age of prosperity and enlightenment. A future of metal, circuits, and gears free from the corrupt hands of the flesh and Yaldabaoth
See... I think TCotBG have it all wrong. They try to use his parts to bring him back and solve problems with humanity, but it's like using the wrong tool for the wrong job. I think he split himself because he knows that Yaldabaoth is just as relentless as he is (both in physical and psychological warfare), so he split himself thinking we will use those parts to fend off Yaldabaoth (I give you SCP-2217 which stopped SCP-610 from advancing during a containment breach). TCotBG should be using those parts to follow the original plan of stopping Yaldabaoth, but the fact they don't points to the fact Yaldabaoth has just as much control as Mekhane. In the original SCP-2510, this dimension is supposedly still on the brink of being dominated by either deity. To me it means that no matter what either follower groups may do, the world is going to be full of constant conflict between them and giving more freedom of movement between the groups/deities will only lead to more destruction and chaos within the SCP universe.
Same reason why followers of Yaldaboath keep trying to use the flesh that hates etc for their own personal power not realizing those weasely power-hungry idiots in charge tend to get steamrolled and consumed by the power they want to usurp. Real life version is Catholics and Evangelicals perverting the teachings of Jesus to spread their hate and powermongering.
@@MrCatTheBlack The fact he died for humanity is proof of his love for humanity and why honoring his sacrifice by using his parts to destroy Yaldabaoth and her Sarkic's is what should Be done
You forgot about HECOR. Also, you didn't include the time the entity inside 5001 reached the surface and caused some distortion to human bodies on cities nearby. Where the people exposed by its radiation had the cannibalistic desires. The entity also said "Revert to my Domain". So there will be no other explanation that 5001 is indeed Mekhane or Mekhane's heart at least and it's containing Yaldabaoth herself hence the nickname Devourer
Mekhane: “The enlightenment of technology for all eternity… I had some issues don’t I? Although I suppose that’s true, humans do seem to embrace technology to some extent perhaps till the end of time. Yet even to me: All things must come to an end, no matter how much you advance in the ladders of technology you will face an inevitable end. But don’t fret the end will come but not for a long time.”
As cool as the Rick and Morty cameo is, they explicitly don't do Time Travel. Also more GOI lore is always a good thing for me. Day 66 of asking the O5 to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
In the last episode, we see that Ricks either time travel or go to alternate universes that exist in the past to force Beths and Jerries together for their need for infinite Morties. Rick doesn't time travel, but he also does. He just doesn't do it anymore like other asshole versions of him. He even has a box of time travel stuff in the garage just in case.
the "devourer" was nicknamed to Yaldabaoth because of his tendency to consume the flesh of everything that comes to his way, a face of true evil. Mekhane isn't so much as the "good" one here, but he's proven to save humans time and time again. he wanted to rebuild his form, but to no avail because of the combined effort with a cosmic SCP and the SCP foundation. another SCP with a nickname "the devourer of worlds" is SCP 2317. not sure, but this is just a speculation with ties of the broken god.
He didn't want to rebuild himself except as a last resort. This is the heart of Mekhane, and Mekhane clearly wants the foundation and everyone else to leave it alone before they ruin everything. Dont wanna be THAT rick and morty fan, but even as a casual fan, it bugs me whenever anyone uses them as an example of time travel. Rick and morty explicitly DO NOT time travel. Doc and Marty do.
They technically time travel, remember that time and space are equal, if you travel to another universe/dimension/whatever you left one time line to enter other one, the same way you stop occupying space in the former universe and star occupying space in the later one.
This seems kinda obvious that it's Yaldabaoth, or whoever that god was that Mekhane sacrificed himself to contain. Seriously, how was that not brought up in this video as a strong possibility?
Because it doesn't want to outright state it for awesome mysterious reasons.. even though it's obvious to pretty much everyone that Yaldabaoth is in there.
People don't seem to understand a "God" is a male deity and a "Goddess" is a female deity and others don't seem to understand these can often times be opposite as titles sometimes are like that
I believe it's related to the story told by the religions Themselves, where it's stated Meckane used it's body to Contain Yaldaboth. Granted, the Sarkic religion states that Yaldaboth Escaped piece by piece (acting as the origin SCP-610: "The Flesh that Hates" (or "The Red Death"), but its safe to assume SCP-5001 is Mainly containing the entities Soul in general. It's also worth noting that Both religions believed a War between them would occur on December 31, 2019, the day After SCP-5001-A attempted to Break Free.
Man, you skipped over all the epic details following the explosion lol All the frighteningly cool things that happened before Yaldabaoth nearly escaped But still, I love your videos, and hope to keep seeing them :)
"Powerful enough to alter reality right down to its humes." Every reality bender alters the hume level, its literally how the foundation detects and even suppresses reality warping.
This is rather a disappointing depiction of a rather amazing and action-packed article. It's rather amazing that you took the containment breach, which has half of the article and chopped it up to a few sentences. And sadly no mentions of the Foundation's use of an orbital railgun to help recontain 5001-A.
Pretty obvious "the Devourer" is Yaldaboth. You didn't exactly cover the details of what happened during the near-containment-breach of SCP 5001-A. You did do well covering the groups of interest, though.
I don’t think the Devourer is Mechane. Mechane is probably the entity containing the Devourer. If I’m understanding this correctly, the Devourer is the Old God Yaldabaoth, the deity of flesh and disease connected with yet another Group of Interest - the Sarckic Cults.
As much as I love the Rick and Morty example, they don't exactly fit with time travel, given that the creators don't really want to fuck with that much at all Great video either way tho
I really appreciated the absolute Meta scene where I cheered as I saw Rick and Morty come through a portal, and then it zoomed out and there was a guy cheering as he watched it as well. 😂
Does that mean that the devourer was actually the flesh god? (Forgot name) and 5001 is the cage that mekhane made from their own machinery? This is such a cool story
For those of you who are not going to look up the SCP 5001-A, the Devourer, is Yaldaboth. It even says in the original SCP Revert to my Domain when trying Escape.
Wait a second "The Devourer"....."Devourer of Worlds", as in SCP 2317 2317 is also believed to be connected to the 001 proposal "The Scarlet King" and the involvement of Mekhane also brings with it Yaldaboth ..... I've obtained more pieces to the massive puzzle I am amassing, and I am getting closer to the truth I will complete this puzzle the creators have left for us, and I won't let anyone stop me
Where there is Good, there is Evil Where there is Knowledge, there is Power Where there is Love, there is Hate Where there is Machine...... ....there is Flesh
It's a Reality-Anchor for another adjacent-dimension to parallel better with ours; know-how that innocuously taps and mirrors successful-realities' conditions, paralleling ours and others achieves a reality-similarity without actually sharing physical stuff: it artificially maintains similar occurrences in common with the places these are kept, making a green zone of their reality buddying up against good ones.
Wait I thought the only reason mekhane in the scp 001 file at least went around killing and integrating everything around it was because the faction of the church tried to recreate mekhane in mexico using a mix of authentic and replicated replacment parts and the replacment parts drove him mad.
Your channel is called SCP Explained, yet you fail to realize that the ontological stabilizers that are utilized by 5001 have absolutely no correlation with Scranton reality anchors.
Scp-5001 is the cage Mechaine made of himself to imprison the other god. Giving this knowledge to TCOTBG would probably make that a worship sight for them and probably make them like the foundation more for finding the mind of their god

Dont wanna be THAT rick and morty fan, but even as a casual fan, it bugs me whenever anyone uses them as an example of time travel. Rick and morty explicitly DO NOT time travel. Doc and Marty do.
They time travel in the snakes episode
They technically time travel, remember that time and space are equal, if you travel to another universe/dimension/whatever you left one time line to enter other one, the same way you stop occupying space in the former universe and star occupying space in the later one.
S4E5 "Rattlestar Ricklactica"
Rick time travels in the very first episode to get that cure for Morty, dude.
Gotta say this is one of the best channels for my studies
Third device they found was FTL engine, and SCP Foundation is in the process of studying it's technology.
This seems kinda obvious that it's Yaldabaoth, or whoever that god was that Mekhane sacrificed himself to contain. Seriously, how was that not brought up in this video as a strong possibility?
Because it doesn't want to outright state it for awesome mysterious reasons.. even though it's obvious to pretty much everyone that Yaldabaoth is in there.
hmm... wonder what happens if you run a active scranton reality anchors through SCP-914 on extra fine?
The devourer is the god of flesh
Change my mind
No one will everyone agreed error
The creator of the SCP literally said that.
Goddes*
People don't seem to understand a "God" is a male deity and a "Goddess" is a female deity and others don't seem to understand these can often times be opposite as titles sometimes are like that
But yes Yaldabaoth is the
"Goddess of Flesh"
I believe it's related to the story told by the religions Themselves, where it's stated Meckane used it's body to Contain Yaldaboth. Granted, the Sarkic religion states that Yaldaboth Escaped piece by piece (acting as the origin SCP-610: "The Flesh that Hates" (or "The Red Death"), but its safe to assume SCP-5001 is Mainly containing the entities Soul in general.
It's also worth noting that Both religions believed a War between them would occur on December 31, 2019, the day After SCP-5001-A attempted to Break Free.
I don’t think it’s the heart of mekhane in there, but yaldabaoth. Remember Mekhane destroyed his body to make a jail for yaldabaoth.
The curch of the broken God is quickly becoming my favorite scp universe group
Me : wth this scp??
" let this be my final gift to you directly from the center of my broken heart"
Me : CoTBG!! Mekhane!!
I'm ready for the twilight zone style TV show for scp. Come on make it happen. There's definitely an audience for this stuff. Make it happen
Idk if it’s the narrator or the writer, someone makes these videos amazing
I always like seeing the video pop up and then the discord notification
SCP-001 "The bones" Apollyon Class "This anomaly can rip your bone's out"
Oof Ouch my bones
Hunter has an amazing voice
Man, you skipped over all the epic details following the explosion lol All the frighteningly cool things that happened before Yaldabaoth nearly escaped
But still, I love your videos, and hope to keep seeing them :)
Easily one of my favorite SCPs.
"Powerful enough to alter reality right down to its humes."
Every reality bender alters the hume level, its literally how the foundation detects and even suppresses reality warping.
I wish this scp can be shown in movies or series i would watch it
I was hunting a Khezu in Monster Hunter Rise and totally forgot it didn’t have a battle theme, heard the music in this video and just went with it
I love the background music
Could you cover SCP-6001? I really like it and I think it's interesting how they handle SCPs over there
i feel like they were teasing it with the 6000 video.
3:12 So how long till these two are labeled as SCPs?
This is rather a disappointing depiction of a rather amazing and action-packed article. It's rather amazing that you took the containment breach, which has half of the article and chopped it up to a few sentences. And sadly no mentions of the Foundation's use of an orbital railgun to help recontain 5001-A.
True, would’ve loved to see them animate how they interpret the containment breach
oh wow. there's more? i was underwhelmed, it being a first runner up and all.
What the SCP explained version of it it explains it better
@@shrodingerscat8940 huh?
@@Bush_Dude watch the video of SCP explained channel on this it's way better
Your videos completely explain these scp cases, my favorite scp channel..
This should also be called "the intro to important GOIs too SCP".
Seriously scp foundation you have ONE job!!
Pretty obvious "the Devourer" is Yaldaboth. You didn't exactly cover the details of what happened during the near-containment-breach of SCP 5001-A. You did do well covering the groups of interest, though.
Yea
@I comment amogus on every video amogus
@I comment amogus on every video amogus
@I comment amogus on every video amogus
@I comment amogus on every video 😐
I don’t think the Devourer is Mechane. Mechane is probably the entity containing the Devourer. If I’m understanding this correctly, the Devourer is the Old God Yaldabaoth, the deity of flesh and disease connected with yet another Group of Interest - the Sarckic Cults.
As much as I love the Rick and Morty example, they don't exactly fit with time travel, given that the creators don't really want to fuck with that much at all
Great video either way tho
I thought Omega gave a a starship the ability to jump back in time exactly 13 seconds, just enough time to redeem a single mistake.
Protect as in throw in waves after waves of human lives until it's contained in some way. SCP's motto.
I really appreciated the absolute Meta scene where I cheered as I saw Rick and Morty come through a portal, and then it zoomed out and there was a guy cheering as he watched it as well. 😂
The background music playing in the video was kinda dope
Russia Foundation: Work harder
Actual SCP foundation: *Work smarter*
YES ive been waiting for new videos
Does that mean that the devourer was actually the flesh god? (Forgot name) and 5001 is the cage that mekhane made from their own machinery? This is such a cool story
I would love to see one or more videos on scp-093, that is a really interesting one
Remember that this SCP is linked to Mekhane and his formed a cage to keep Al-daboth in? Yea. Great idea leaving it alone.
2:24 why did the number change from 11,000 to 1,000?
Huh, so the Foundation has it's own version of the Hellfire Club as heavies. Cute.
Yees, finally, ty SCP Explained for givin us the good content
For those of you who are not going to look up the SCP 5001-A, the Devourer, is Yaldaboth. It even says in the original SCP Revert to my Domain when trying Escape.
3:20 Lol, yeah, nice shout--out there.
I miss the old school SCPs like that book that can give you whatever dream you want or the carnival of horrors
Ah yes, the USSR, no wait, it's Russia without Karelia
I pity the Leaders of GRU - P
They had to deal with disloyal MINIONS .
It sounds like the only group of interest not involved with this SCP is the Serpent's Hand.
Wait a second
"The Devourer"....."Devourer of Worlds", as in SCP 2317
2317 is also believed to be connected to the 001 proposal "The Scarlet King"
and the involvement of Mekhane also brings with it Yaldaboth
.....
I've obtained more pieces to the massive puzzle I am amassing, and I am getting closer to the truth
I will complete this puzzle the creators have left for us, and I won't let anyone stop me
It is Yaldabaoth its pretty damn obvious
So glad you didn't say "Grue" division good job.
And in my opinion, the events taking place in SCP-2217 explain everything. We need to prepare for the final battle.
P.S. If I don't know English well.
Nice video
Where there is Good, there is Evil
Where there is Knowledge, there is Power
Where there is Love, there is Hate
Where there is Machine......
....there is Flesh
New quote or line to this quote!
Earliest I've ever been to an SCP video. Anomalous
What is SCP-5001 (Mekhane) containing? Easy, his Ex-girlfriend Yaldabaoth.
Lol
Wait I thought the only reason mekhane in the scp 001 file at least went around killing and integrating everything around it was because the faction of the church tried to recreate mekhane in mexico using a mix of authentic and replicated replacment parts and the replacment parts drove him mad.
There’s another god monster in scp called the devourer wow
Those gods needs some diets, they're all eating way too much
Your channel is called SCP Explained, yet you fail to realize that the ontological stabilizers that are utilized by 5001 have absolutely no correlation with Scranton reality anchors.
GRU Division P = Soviet Unions very own SCP Foundation? Wouldn't they actually be more like the Omega Group from CoD: Cold War?
I love ur videos
Revert to my domain! HECOR says not today
At a glance I read the title as SCP 5001- Sacramento
Damn I love it when the characters are portrayed as speaking and they sound like a kazoo XD
12:15 I see this when I close my eyes sometimes, anyone else?
The last message more seems like a direct message from mekhane. And it is containing something even worse.
Incorrect. Mekhane shattered himself to imprison yaldabaoth, and the author has said that the devourer is yaldabaoth.
It’s the long one wich I enjoy the most 👍
This should be called SCP a Eurocentric view of the world !
Didn't know that there are video for SCP 5001
Can you guys make a video about Dr. Cleff and Mr. Redd because you didn't explain him in the Little Misters video.
Scp-5001 is the cage Mechaine made of himself to imprison the other god. Giving this knowledge to TCOTBG would probably make that a worship sight for them and probably make them like the foundation more for finding the mind of their god
