His back 2 overhead is cancel-able into his spit, slide, and fatal blow. It’s best used with the slide though so you can condition full screen and potentially get to actually launch them with the full charged over head.
@@YBSalvo While charging it without releasing the button, you can input any of the three moves. It’s a little weird because your holding down one button while simultaneously trying to push another, but with enough practice you can do it consistently.

Guys try the scorpion kameo with reptile! The neutral r1 kameo move are fire balls in the air and it keeps them in the air. Use stand 4 acid spit but use the scorpion air fire ball(far) as soon as your hitting standing 4 into acid spit. Came up with some SICK COMBOS with this
He still has the Reptilian Dash and as Honey Bee showed in the vid you can use for mobility after an air combo to start pressure. So he's still a speedster for an extent.
Thanks for this! Now I finally know why my 2nd forceball won't combo! Can't wait to hopefully see Smome and Nitara guides. They seem like character's you'd enjoy. Especially smoke with the cancels. With Cyrax he's scary because you have an overhead that leads to 31% meterless, a low that leads to 40% 1 bar, and a throw that can get ~22% 1 bar.

I use Montaro with Reptile, you can throw a amplified slow force ball then instantly use montaros teleport kameo to move to the other side and create a high pressure situation for them they got you in there face with the force ball coming behind them
I’m practicing reptile currently you can tell with each character who combos come out smoothe and hassle free and that’s what you want. And reptiles one of those characters: Reptiles chain combos come out smoothe for me which makes him fun to play just straight to the point his play style and enjoyable. Other characters combos seem like a chore based off other videos I’ve watched and practiced with.
Fr man, I tried to pick up Mileena and the efforts I had to do to achieve a weaker combo than Reptile's bread and butter ones were insane💀. I gave up on her and stayed with Reptile

Have you thought about using kung lao with reptile, since you could use the ambush teleport to get sandwich situations with the force ball, and the low buzz saw can make some neat situations with the dash and overhead launcher
Haven't finished the video yet so sorry if this comes up later but you can cancel his standing 3 into falling fangs after the first hit for an overhead mixup since you are airborne during the move.
Not actually a mix up. Second hit of s3 is mid so... I guess it's just a specific punish tool, also if you cancel into falling fangs you can side switch.
Remember in mk11 you could tag combos in practice so there up on the screen the whole time, can you do that in mk1, am I missing something..... Its annoying having to go in to move list the whole time
This was great, I was using reptile with sareena but I’m thinking scorpion might be better with him, since he helps extend combos and provides more tools

His pressure also feels weirdly over comital and his specials not really doing much different when amped is weird.
That's one of the reasons why I love Reptile, because he's always a versatile jack-of-all-trades character no matter what game he's in, and this one is no exception. He has long-range Zoning, mid-range Zoning, Rushdown, Mix-ups, Pressure, mobility, damage etc; Everything that you want, Reptile has it.

@@hehehehaw8346I checked it myself as well and there's no difference between regular invisibility and EX one. Then again, Reptile across all of his special moves doesn't need meter that much, just like Honey Bee said. I was experiencing with some combos and EX specials increase the damage in Reptile's combos by like 1%. The most use of EX specials I can see for Reptile are his projectiles, as EX Acid Spit has better range and hitbox and all of his EX Forceballs become full screen projectiles. Other than that there's really no need to use meter for specials, even the other specials that are not projectiles. That's not a bad thing though, because that means that Reptile can save meter for universal mechanics like Combo Breakers, which is always good.
I am waiting for your Nitara guide since you said you are interested on playing her, I've already found some non optimal 30 - 54 % combos but I would like to see your approach on her gamestyle to improve. I took a lot of inspiration on your gameplay to main D'Vorah on mk11 so now I will follow yor guides on mk1 !

I would turn off the option that confirms specials on button release so that the input for up+4 happens as soon as you press the button. That should reduce the instances where Reptile jumps instead of performing the invisibility. I just keep that option turned off in general, fwiw.
Some kameos affect your healthbar, serena also gives you 50 extra health, not sure why this is the case. Makes you wonder if some affect your damage or defense etc.
I love the video but maybe in the future it would be nice to see you play some online games at the end and maybe you live commentate what you’re doing / trying to force out from the opponent and your overall thought process in an actual match! Love your content brother!

MKX and MK9 Reptile is stronger. The only thing this Reptile has is damage. Everything else is lacklustre. He has no setups without burning meter or kameo meter. Pity he needs to charge his overhead to get a launcher.
So, Kameo sub zero's ice shirt tanks prjectiles? maybe that could be good to inforce rushdown with Raiko. Is there anything else kam-sub zero can help with or offer to Raiko?
Reptile seems pretty basic compared to a lot of the cast considering he was probably one of the more complicated characters in MKX, especially in terms of combo paths with his nimble variation

They nerfed his damage from the pre patch. With kung lao kameo and one bar of meter I cap out at 336. Mind you I haven’t had that much time to practice but even with different starters I got the same damage.
What do you think of Darius? His forward-kameo + reptile’s b3 could be hard to block in certain situations. Are those real, or easy to get out of in practice? Edit: also, tried to see what ex invisibility does as well. Maybe lets him recover a little faster? Not sure though.
The Darrius + reptile b3 is a real mix up but it's not great as the recovery from summoning him (off of a string specifically) is punishable or even walking forward from the opponent keeps them out of range from the follow up overhead kick And yes the EX invisibility is just faster recovery. It still takes just as long to go invisible
@@Raz3477x ok so after future labbing, the Darrius overhead mixup is EXTREMELY viable if you do it as part of a combo. Reptile's air 2,2,3 combo with Darrius ambush attack to keep the opponent spinning and then imputing the overhead kameo command can lead to mix up. Using reptiles b3 of course
Seems like Reptile’s really lacking in mids and just mid-range in general. People just turtle, block low, and armor his strings. Tough time opening people up.
@@txtayler7086 You can go into the practice screen and then hit triangle at a certain move and then when you go back into the practice menu while you're fighting you can see your combos on the screen so you don't have to go back and forth

I didn’t see any mention of forward 2, 3 which you can loop twice into stand 4 force ball to get some juicy damage. Even without cameo

Hey you can use 2 forceballs in the same combo. The 2nd one must be pulled back, but it works
You can use 4, two regular, two amplified. Just have to throw them at different speeds

The reason for the amplified invisibility is because he goes invisible a bit quicker and it also lasts longer

Why is nobody talking about how the frame data in the move lists isn't right? The move list says retile launching overhead is -13 when its -3 🤦🏾♂️
