I have now watched quite a few videos about these log splitters and this is by far the best I've seen. Mine does not leak but the ram movement does not always start unless I waggle the lever. It also sometimes doesn't return and I need to push the ram back by hand. Also it has only ever been able to split thin logs but I bought it secondhand so I don't know how it performed when new.
I think I did measure the torque, but it was inconsistent. Also releasing torque for a fastener will be different than a tightening torque. Similarly as pushing something uphill, or pushing it downhill.
if the motor is spinning and it's not moving the ram the bypass valve might be the culprit. if the motor hums but does not spin then the start capacitor might be faulty

Great Video! Extra points for running the analysis. What hardware/equipment and software are you using to scan the casting?
Hi Michael. Glad you enjoyed the video. I used a shining einstar scanner with its own software for scanning.
Just go for 35-40 NM, with 4 bolts you can't go wrong.
What is the part number for this housing, ty
Walter. I'm not sure about the part number, it's shown as #16 cover on the diagram. you can send them an email to support@yardmax.com
It is 343201302050
@@Phiyedough thank you very much. So far there not a available thru the company. Months they say.
could you have measured the Nm when you were disassembling the plate?
And I think your deserve a Project Farm Special Commendation!!!

OK works most of the time but now it just hums

@@enginord thank you. I will check the capacitor.
Way way to much info for the average guy such as myself
Wasted value
Sorry buddy I wasted your time. Hope you can find more interesting channels.
