This car speaks pure class, no shiny bling bits to attract tasteless customers, and certainly not for those who just want biggest car possible in proportion of what they're spending. Many typical ones will choose Alturas G4 over this and it's fine, but that doesn't mean this car lacks anything at all. A decent design with purposeful features and placements, the simple yet elegant language of VW premium vehicles. Sad it's coming as CBU, else it could have done wonders as a CKD one.
We reckon an interest in the car will help take it the CKD route like the 5-seater used to be. So its chicken and egg at the moment! Knowing volumes are limited means the co may not push that hard on it, and hence the dealers may not too - meaning it gets relegated to staying CBU perhaps. But let's see!
Adding so much chrome to the car is pretty tasteless tbh. Also at it’s price, it’s going against some mountainously more practical SUVs offerings. Sure it’s seems nicer to drive, but a buyer biased towards driving won’t really eye an SUV. They would much rather go for sedans like the octavia. This car for me is suffering from identity crisis where it’s a compro on everything and a king in none.
VW is pretty notorious for its Indian made cars and adding to the fact that this is CKD, availability of spares are going to be a huge issue. Looks like a bad decision to me.
The best guy to test a 7 seater
I got one and I absolutely love it. What a wonderful car. I initially thought It would be a bit underpowered but was surprised as to how good the engine felt. Truly a brilliant car and worth the money. And did I mention its giving me 9.8kmpl in the city.. with my kind of driving.. just wow!

Look at how Hyundai, toyota, mahindra embraced bs6 diesel engines. Maruti, skoda, VW are taking career finishing risks by being adamant not to opt for diesel..
raj esh All those BS6 diesels don’t come with SCR without which you can just make it enough for BS6 norms, but still not well under BS6 norms.
@@bharathbvb Could you please elaborate on your statement. If it is enough for BS6 norms, that's more than sufficient. Why should one have something well under BS6, when that is not required? And if being green is very important, we could rather go for Electric cars and not Petrol. I am pretty confused by this strategy of the VW Group. Or possibly they are skeptical after the dieselgate scandal.
Sobeeraj Maruti is developing bs6 1.5 diesel for ciaz , ertiga , xl6 which is due in mid 2021 and skoda and vw are engineering new Diesel engines to meet bs6 emission norms and will launch it upcoming Octavia new gen , vw taigun , skoda kosmiq and rapid 2nd gen
Didn’t sell earlier, won’t sell now. VW needs a mindset change to understand the market.

I think your boot-space figures are all wrong. With all seats up it should be only 230 L (not 340) and with the last row folded down, it should be 700 L (not 1065L !).

Audi India as they dropped Diesel engine. As most of SUV and premium cars buyers prefers Diesel engine vehicles. Very disappointed with their approach.

Red and orange colors have black interior , rest all colors have light beige/grey colored interior
