I think the Kaffe fabric works very well with the other fabrics. And I love the black denim because I like high contrast. I am really excited to see how the quilt turns out! ❤❤❤❤❤
When I got on TH-cam this morning and saw your video, my mind immediately said "Oh, my friend posted a video". I thought you would like to know even though we've not met I think of you as a friend and really enjoy your channel. You inspire me to create! ❤Andie
Love the collaboration idea! I think your styles will mesh well, and can’t wait to see each step of your quilt! Voting for the black denim to make all the colors pop!
Loved watching this, loved seeing your baskets of colors. I need to sort some of my fabric by color instead of designer or line. Looking forward to seeing the collaboration!
A great concept for a colaboration. How fun to do. You have me thinking.... To do this you have to be open to someone elses vision of working. Looking forwardd to see how this goes.
I am looking forward to your collaboration with Tom, I am already subscribed to his channel. I enjoyed watching your thought process matching fabric. Thanks for taking us along.
Hey, Kristen! This sounds like a fabulous collab! I’m already subscribed to both of your channels. I think I learned of his channel from you a while back. I prefer the black denim, because it really makes the colours pop. It would also create a clear break between your sections and Tom’s. I think the inherent texture in the blue denim would muddy the waters. I’m really looking forward to following the progress in this project. Thank you, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
How fun! I see familiar names in the comments for this. I am looking forward to seeing what the 2 of you make. I have been subscribed to Tom's channel for a while now. Yes I am getting your emails Kristen because of the big blocks quilt.
I like the Kaffe or the orange batik with the leaves. Sorry but the black denim does look nicer. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Hopefully I’ll see it in person as I’m actually going to the festival of quilts this year, I’m so excited 🎉
"Goes with" is not the same as Match.... not even close. ))I'm waiting to see what blocks you will choose to sew. Close color nearly match so it looks like only one person made the quilt... or enough different that it coordinates the two workers. Are these 5 colors his ONLY colors for the whole quilt, or just for the one center block? IF whole, the next frames will need more diversity. Does he build on your choices to make his frame "match" or "go with"? Are your frames mostly print vs his solids? Choosing only half the fabric and structures is going to be fun. ))
Yes I’m pretty sure those are the only colors he is using. I’m not going to do my section in blocks but he is doing his that way. Not sure if he will alter his after he sees mine or not 😂 that will be part of the mystery!
How do you think I did with the fabric matching? Should I use that Kafe Fasset print?

So fun to see your process. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching!
This is great have not seen a video from Tom in seems like forever.
I loved your selection process; who knew there were so many versions of orange?!!! This quilt is going to be fabulous!
Thanks!

Fab! Glad you can follow along! 💕
I was doing the same today in a lot of the colors - am keen to see how this all plays out. Denim has so many hues so difficult to choose
It does have a lot of hues! And I’ll have to use a mix of blacks or blues whatever I go with.
How exciting! I definitely like the print. I don't know if I can say on the blue vs black...
Thanks!
I am a fan of Kaffe Fasset so yes from me. 😊
Thanks!

I know the black does look better - was half hoping it wasn’t true but I know it is 😂!
I’ll be at FOQ fri-sun!
Yes to the KF print! It goes so well!
Thanks!
I liked the other orange print better than the one you chose. I loved your process and found myself saying no and maybe along with you. 😅
Thanks for choosing along with me 😂!
This sounds like a fun collaboration! 🎉. I’m having a busy summer, so I’ll catch up later.
I subscribe to both of your channels.
Fab!
Just an FYI, the backs of grunge are awesome solids!
Great tip!
Love the orange print
Thanks!
Sounds like a lot of fun😊👍I would go for a pattern fabric with similar colour unless you have exact plain fabric as Tom’s
Thanks!
😀
What an interesting project, I saw Tom on the Karen Brown video, Just Get it Done is it?
BLACK❤❤❤
Thanks!
Black!
I know! The answer was in the question but I wanted to be proved wrong 😂. Oh well another evening of cutting denim!
I like the black denim. The blue isn’t as striking.
Thanks for that!
