Lots of families do that, no matter what their lineage; mine's whiter than the inside of an Oreo (as far as I know at the present time; my brother's getting one of the DNA ancestry tests), but if Daddy's having an affair, nonono - we don't talk about it. We pretend to make it normal. That's why I love Ms. Lorenzo's work - you don't have to be Latina/o to relate to it, or young either, LOL!

The cousins gathering in another room to escape the crowded masses of revelry. The kids sleeping all over. That one cousin who actually remembers to go find the group missing when the important thing is about to happen - while everyone else just doesn't realize. That collective trauma comment. The loud insanity of celebration. This is every Latino holiday you'll ever attend. Absolute perfection!!

Stork aside, I feel like Laritza's was probably the most realistic of the three. So I'm going for her.
Had a similar experience with a guy, who was always at my grandparents’ house, I could not quite figure out my kinship with. It was only after not seeing him for a long time, and some other dude calling my grandmother ‘ma’ that I realised he was my uncle’s then boyfriend and that they had broken up, and the new guy was not a cousin, but my uncle’s new boyfriend.

I would watch a series where Michi solves mysteries. Anyway, Feliz año nuevo to all and to all a good night or something.
We did a video last year, partnered with Totinos, where Michi investigates who ate her pizza rolls. We joked about doing a Dora the Explora parody called Michi la Metiche, where she thinks she’s doing detective work but in reality she’s just being nosey and chismosa.
I loved this episode a lot! I loved all the faces "they" did and the way they interact all together. Más de las tres primas juntas pliiis😍.

They did, he is actually Tia Migdalia's son, so he's actually Laritza's cousin, but not Michi's or Jasleiny's.
Jasleiney’s story actually gave me chills and I got scared and sad at the same time wow😭
THEORY: Primo Kevin is the son of the grey-haired Tia Migdalia who gifted Lartiza her comb for her quinceanera. We never see Tia Migdalia cuz she is neglected by her entire family for being too overbearing and also knowing everyone's dirty secrets while growing up. But Kevin comes around once in a while. The last time we saw Tia Migdalia was during the "Different Types of Tias You Encounter in the Holidays" episode.

I love these deeper and deeper dives into the family lore. It's fun to see Laritza, Jaslainey, and Michi sort of bonding over trying to figure Kevin out. And Jasleiney going full Midnight Society leading into her story - the best sort of on-brand.

@@ConstantChaos1 Before last year's thanksgiving episode, I had this theory that Gloria's husband had a secret affair overseas (which explained why he was always absent) and Kevin is the offspring of that affair, therefore making him Jaime and Jasleiney's half-brother. And since Gloria, who knew all about it and never wanted anyone to find out his real identity because that would be a scandal, she always keeps him around those family events telling that he's the girl's cousin.

I. LOVED. IT. This was literally such a funny video; I could not stop laughing! Like always, your work never ceases to amaze me and always makes my day so much better! I loved the fact here that Kevin's story was muted by the loud pachanga noises! And, the creepy story that Jasleiney told about Kevin's backstory also added a nice touch of horror to the video, and also simultaneously defines and adds to her unique personality. I personally think that primo Kevin is the son of Tia Gloria but to another man,
Kevin was the first son of Gloria but out of a bad relationship with his first boyfriend Gloria left him, then came his new husband and Jasleiney and his brother.
I also think that is the reason why Abuela isn't close to Gloria because of the accidental baby, and Abuela being the Good Mother, she chooses to forget the past
