Massive. All Together on Balance 005 is just such a big mood. And I have such fond memories of Big City being played late night at some Culprit after party or something like that and running to get the ID...
And speaking of the childlike joy of revisiting old favorites: I'm heading home to the US for the holidays and very excited to bring the needle down on some things I haven't heard in a while, including some that I bought from you

Nice Matt what did you buy from me? That culprit party moment sounds great! Nothing like running to the booth like a crazed person requesting ID :)

@@MAMP I'll have to get on discogs on my laptop to check for sure, somehow my Gmail is just pulling up PayPal records which don't include details of what the orders were. One of them included that ridiculous Horrorist - One Night in NYC record, that i remember

Hell yea! Luv fake x holden! U should talk about comatonse [terre thaemlitz's label where he releases under his many aliases] u should also check out the Fresh fruit x pssst labels from the 90s that features Rene Et Gaston/Chocolate Puma

Hey hey good to hear from you Cheese. All of the Comatose records I have I already reviewed in the previous 2 Spinkles episodes. Until I make some new acquisitions I'm out of ammo :)

Have you heard the latest Holden tracks from the upcoming album? Preferably the track "Common Land" even if you don't like his recent output, this track is worth a listen

The Poppy sleeve was designed like that because it was one of four covers that made up a single picture. If you bought all four in a row after Poppy and joined them together you got a poster

I try to keep up with the current stuff. And yes, there are plenty of underground artists out there, who are great producers. EDM didn't ruin everything, like some people claim. However, you just don't hear the kind of magic like you get on early BC releases anymore. Like, the way Petter comes out swinging on All Together. I think that modern producers are a little afraid to let themselves go this much on just one track, because nowadays you can't really release one EP, then disappear for a year or two, while you experiment and draw inspiration for new material. You have to keep the new content coming consistently.

Hey great comment. I think what was happening in the early 2000's was that most of the producers were true music people. You had to be a super eccentric person to be pursuing EDM production back then. So you had serious talent colliding with the very early stages of music software. Golden era!!
