I was at this one. Seeing Richard was a emotional moment after the shooting. Another down to the wire game between the Colts and Jags.

I’ve been eagerly searching for this one. Thanks.
One of the best performances of Peyton Manning’s career.

@chris orr he was definitely lucky that Brees missed the playoffs and that Brady was injured in Week 1...Peyton's numbers were terrible that season.

He had the fewest drives in the league & was saddled w/ by far his weakest roster of the Dungy era since 2002. That team had no business being in the playoffs. He missed all of OTAs, training camp & preseason due to knee surgery. He had a rough 1st 3 games but had a 101.0 QB rating & 3 to 1 TD:INT ratio the rest of the season.
The Colts rushing offense was dead last in YPA & 31st in YPG. Manning led the NFL in Game-Winning Drives & 4th Qtr. Comebacks. If he equaled Drew Brees in drives - instead of having the fewest in the NFL amongst QBs w/ at least 350+ attempts - he’d have had 5,162 yards & 35 TDs at his 2008 averages.
His numbers were elite, he just didn’t get the ball nearly as much as other players since the Colts defense was so bad against the run (24th) & on 3rd Down (32nd).

Manning didn't deserve mvp. Should have been Steve Smith or ed reed

Yes he did deserve MVP. The Colts offense had the fewest drives in the league, the O-Line had a different starting combination every week but the final 3 games, the Colts led the NFL in drops (37) & were 31st in rushing offense. The Colts defense was bottom 10 vs the run & dead last in 3rd down defense/completion rate allowed & just 18th overall in points allowed per drive. The opposing team out gained the Colts in rushing yards in 11 of Manning’s 15 starts, teams normally win 28.6% of their games in that scenario but the Colts went 8-3 (72.7%) in those games. Other than a pass defense that was great in the red zone & at not giving up deep passes, the overall team was very subpar compared to what the Colts had the prior 5 seasons (2003-2007).
Manning had 7 game-winning drives & 4 double digit comebacks in 2008. He led the NFL in QBR by a wide margin & won in situations most QBs lose.
If he’d had a league average number of drives - instead of by far the fewest in the NFL - he’d have had a 5,000+ yard season.
