Nice to see the Warlord minis getting some appreciation- they might not be as dynamic as the Victrix poses but they rank up better and are a more reasonable scale
Yeah. We're spoiled for choice w Dacians.. Both major companies make great stuff. I'm also waiting on the new Temple of the West Dacian command and character figures. The also look v nice.
After purchasing both kits I have to say that the Victrix takes the cake for me. Just something slightly off with Warlords sizing , not enough to make a regular person notice but for me (Being somewhat OCD) I definitely notice. It doesn't bother me that you don't get a decal in the Victrix set because no doubt with all there selection it'd be the wrong colours or something anyway.
The legs have too many lurching positions. This is fixable for most but takes time. These are also quite old now and there have been improvements in plastics and 3d modelling since the Warlord Celts came out. I think the metal parts hold up well though and could probably be mixed with victrix legs - cut the body in half, use a ball burr to create a socket to put the metal torso. Victrix heads and helmets are generally too big compared to the bodies but overall are excellent figures and priced well.
Can you realistically play Warlord and Victrix together or is the size difference too noticeable? I prefer Victrix but some of the Warlord extras like wardogs and female celts are good.
you could get the Warlord Dacians box as they are the Gallic set + extra torsos and heads to convert to Dacians , plus some metal Dacian command. @@bendavison8981

PS if you're interested in buying any of my minis please get in touch.. I'm running out of shelf space :)
With the victrix decals did you do a white undercoat for the shield to bring out the decal colour?
yes - The LittleBigMan shields need that.

Most of the Warlord Dacians are a good size fit w Victrix Dacians. Warlord are a bit inconsistent w their sizing in general.
@@greatsouthernancientminiat8812 i love victrix and building a gallic army for hail caesar but after 2 divisions it can start to look a bit samey.
