As ive heard from many rating EAS videos, Japans alarm is a quiet jingle to keep everyone calm and organized in the event of emergencies, though ive heard its tsunami alarm is pretty scary
Isreal's alarm reminds me of that one glitch on ajpw when all the sounds stop and all of a sudden theres this creepy siren noise that progressively gets louder over time until you get kicked out of the app.
Went to look up what the siren is called, and found out they have one near where I live. A bunch of different models by Federal Signal have the tone. It's called "alternate wail" and is basically reserved for when things are near apocalyptic.
As an Aussie I can confirm that the alarm is real, it plays that then it says “take shelter in your house, it is too late to leave” and when I heard it during our massive bushfires I was shitting bricks
Same. I've never heard it before Edit: i did actually hear it before it's just that they only played the beggining here. Also i remembered the note going higher and lower a lot more quickly.
I like New Zealand’s alarm the most cause it overwhelms you with all the noise making you incredibly uncomfortable rather than just being a creepy sound
Fun fact about israel, we use that alarm in mourning days, we all just stand straight with our heads down for a solid 2 minutes while the alarm rings, its probably terrifying for tourists
That’s amazing. It reminds me a little of visiting a US military base in a car and seeing everyone just standing still and saluting…turns out they play the national anthem at 5:00 every day, and everyone just stops what they’re doing until it’s over. But yeah, standing still with that alarm going off like you said is probably even more confusing to outsiders lol
I used to go to a Jewish school (even though I wasn’t) that taught a lot about Israel but one question I had but never got answered was what happens if someone’s just performing a life saving surgery but the siren goes off? Do they just stop and mourn
@@LeRealMilk no, they will keep doing the surgery, there is infact no law that states you must stand and mourn but it is considered as common manners to do so and people who dont do it usually seen as assholes.
The reason Japans alarms are very 'calm' compared to others, is because Japan is kind of known as the country of the elderly. They respect elders and quite a lot have stayed in the country since birth holding traditional views. So the alarms are calm to make sure they don't cause panic or accidents by scaring the elderly
