    Hi Morgan, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your channel so much. I decided back in October that I wanted to pursue a bookkeeping business and I have watched pretty much all of your videos. They are so incredibly informative and helpful, so thank you! I'm currently working through the QBOA trainings and will hopefully be taking the exam soon. I'm a mom of three little people (5, 3 and 2) and everything you talk about regarding your bookkeeping business sounds so ideal for my current life situation. Thanks again for all your time and effort and the amazing information!

    great video, would like to see more on your typical client work and transaction flow. How do you record deposits, record checks, provide financial data to your client, etc. Thanks Morgan!

    Hello. Subscriber here. Do you have any videos that show how to use the “check list client” “ needs assessment “ from quickbooks ? You know the part where you sit down and ask question to the client and based on Their answers you suggest the type of service they need. Maybe undertake some of the questions they have listed in the form . Cause I don’t even understand some of those questions. And we don’t want to ask a question we don’t even understand .

    Hello!
    I was curious if you talked with a lawyer when creating contracts for your clients or if you created one yourself and how you went about making that!
    Thank you so much! :)

      Good question. I had one that I got from another bookkeeper, then I had a lawyer friend look over it unofficially. When you're first starting out with a couple clients, if you're very budget conscious (like I was), I think you can do more of a do-it-yourself contract that you find online. Once you start growing, maybe at that point would be a good time to invest $ in a specific legal document.

    Hi Morgan, With a lot of people now a days worried about identity theft and things like that, how do you go about asking a client for their login credentials to their business bank account(s) so you can input that info for the bank feed to QB? Thanks!

      Some people like to use separate logins for her or they could use something like LastPass or Keeper to share login details

    do bank feeds replace the need for inputting manual journal entries? for example, purchased inventory. If categorized correctly via bank feeds does that remove the need for manual journal entry or are both necessary?

    Hi Morgan, I am learning QBO and I don't understand the blue "Checking Account" bar on the Banking page. Why does it say negative $3,621.93? Does the negative sign mean the account is in the hole? I'm so confused by that blue Checking Account negative number vs the "In Quickbooks" number right beneath it.

      I would recommend utilizing Facebook groups. They have been awesome for Morgan to get specific questions answered by kind & helpful bookkeepers. She likes "The successful bookkeeper" but there are lots of options on FB! Here's a video she made about how to get your questions answered: th-cam.com/video/On2KWzGX6zw/w-d-xo.html -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

    Hi, can you please make a short video to guide us how to clear out Account Receivable when created invoice, but not have sale yet. This issue made the customer AR over deal even thought the company not sale 100%, but only received 50% deposit to customers. Thanks

    How do you train your clients to keep and file their receipts? Without receipts or support, if they are ever audited they need the receipts, not just bank charges. This is where is get the most pushback why they do not want to outsource their accounting work. They don't want to be responsible for all the filing of this info.

      @Khairi Cody Hi, I am an accountant too. The point I am making is business owners don't want to maintain paper or digital files (or scanning them to digital). So the differing formats are really irrelevant to this objection.

    How often should I review the bank feed?

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amber! Morgan recommends categorizing the bank feed once a month. However, you may need to do it more often if you're client is requesting it.

    Do you: 1. print the bank statements, 2. print the Rec summary and detail report and 3. mail it to the client.

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't personally save bank statements, but a lot of bookkeepers do save them digitally (I think you can always order from the bank if needed, and a lot of banks give you multiple years online). I don't send a reconcile summary to my client, but do email a P&L and balance sheet.
