Thank you for the lovely video. I just saw this moth for the first time on my butterfly bush yesterday. Fascinating creature. Great song to end with. Love it.

I believe these are a NEW species, a hybrid because the bees are endangered, many "new species" being created by the evil agenda

@@MsKwenchi That is fascinating. Sort of makes sense, as you'd think we'd have been seeing them our entire lives. I have never seen one. Not one time, that I'm aware of anyway. May the evil ones be held accountable for their sins against nature.

@@illuminotmereloaded6896 wait until you catch a bee-fly or three in your own garden!!! I have seen four in three years and i managed to catch three of them.

@@MsKwenchi You mean a CIA bee? Just kidding! What do you mean? I love that you mentioned the evil agenda, by the way, though I really hate that one exists and is being implemented on a daily basis.

I live in the Chicagoland area and enjoy them as they hover around my flowers. The first time I saw one, I thought it was a mutant hummingbird but as I got closer, I realized the difference since my yard attracts hummingbirds, as well. These moths enjoy my fragrant flowers but also feed from my fall purple asters. I see them most often in the late afternoon and then on into the evening. Next spring I will plant a moonflower vine so I can attract even more of these very cool little creatures!

About 10 years ago i saw like 5 of these swarming around a bush in Sweden. I knew back then they don't live in any region even near Sweden so i was really confused and over time i forgot about it. But i was still convinced i saw hummingbirds that day. Randomly i clicked my way through youtube and found this. Thanks alot :) Can't blame me though. They look so much alike...

Remarkable footage, and great information. Also a wonderful excuse to plant a bunch of butterfly bushes, as they are beautiful and smell terrific. I can't believe I have never seen one of these. Something to look forward to. Thank you!

@Leony Nation Thats cool that you saw some. Unfortunately I live 3 hours from either panhandle. I really think something wiped them out in the southern part of the state.

I had one indoors this morning. He was resting by my window screen. (Somehow slipped in last night.) At least I got a good look at it, to figure out WHAT it was.
It has been in my Agastache. I was in-and-out, watering after dark, and I SAW it trying to get in my front door, but I thought I had left it outside. I'm glad I could gently let him outside, this A.M. :) This is a SPECTACULAR moth, and unless you can SEE that it doesn't have a beak .... you'd never guess it was a bug. ie: humme

Saw one a few weeks ago in northeast Michigan in my yard. I've lived here for more than 30 years and that was the first time I'd seen one in my life. At first I thought it was a moth the way it was flying around, but once it found a bunch of flowers I knew it was a hummingbird by the way it focused in on each one. But it had odd colors for a hummingbird, so I moved in for a closer inspection. It had beautiful orange, white and black markings but then I noticed it had antennae and no beak...

Supposedly inspired mythical "Fairies" ... due to clear wings, and seemingly 'magic' abilities to hover.
