Do you have any recommendations on activities in the area other than hiking and what are the best locations to visit in matthiessen and starved rock? I wanna make sure I don’t miss anything important
At Matthiessen the river walk along the Vermillion river is also nice. The trails get a little hard to follow so pay close attention. In my video of Starved Rock, I only did the canyons. You may also hike up Starved Rock and Lovers Leap. If you get tired of hiking, you can also fish and have a bbq/picnic, or eat at the outdoor bar which is really cool!
