I fixed her hair up and played around with outfits and sort of fell in love. I think their little bodies are absolutely wonderful. The are a sort of fashion encyclopedia aren't they? I make sure she takes care of her dolls well and tell her how to hold them and take care of them. I keep all the boxes and giant boxes in the storage area of our home with the accessories. So she just plays with them in their outfit they come with. Movie ones looks like Amy Winehouse. I don’t remember her name but the one that has the black hair with the blonde highlights in the front that has the art look, always reminded me of Amy Winehouse. I think it’s a reference Amy Winehouse. I always thought Beyoncé was more like queen bee. I also felt that the bossbabe was more like Mariah Carey. I have references for all of them too, and we’ve named all of them after singers. My daughter also has some of the twins. There’s a total of $30. But that’s a lot for a five-year-old. I kind of got them for myself lol my husband’s like why do you keep buying them. She mostly has them on display and only plays with a little sisters that she has, who, once in a while, will each pick a dollar a few dollars and play with them. I’ve never heard of washing my hair. I grew up in a Barbie era so I still have my old Barbies from the 80s in the 90s. I never really did anything with their hair. I just kind of kept it the way it was and try not to mess with it. A few of our lol dolls, have a messed up frizzy hair because a three year old got into them… Maybe I should consider washing them. How do you do that? Can you make a video on how you wash your dolls hair?
Hi! 😊 I see this is an older comment, but I've been following many doll creators here on TH-cam and many have tutorials for the best ways to clean your dolls, their hair and their clothes! 😊 How I clean my dolls (based on a number of tutorials saying the same thing haha!) For the hair; - I wash them in cool/warm water and washing up liquid (I believe in the US it's called dish soap). Use plenty in the hair and what's left over seems to be more than enough to go over the body. Washing up liquid cuts through grease etc so it can be good for removing some of the gluey product that's in a lot of dolls' hair. But be careful, I've heard it's not impossible for some washing up liquids that're highly pigmented to taint the dolls hair colour if the doll's hair is white/very light. If you don't wanna risk that, some people use hand wash or purely shampoo instead. - I use the washing up liquid, *sometimes* shampoo instead, *sometimes* followed by a small amount of fabric softener for their hair (it smells incredible!), ALWAYS followed by conditioner. - I use just a cheap hair conditioner that works fine for my hair too, and I apply a generous amount then proceed to gently brush the hair out from the ends upwards towards the roots. This is the best way to de-tangle any hair. - I let my dolls sit with the conditioner thoroughly brushed through for a few mins (usually whilst repeating the process with other dolls) and then finally, wash out the conditioner. - As for boil washing, I'd say do your research and stick closely to tutorials on TH-cam. I've only done this a couple of times and so far no issues, but some doll hair is different so better to do your research on the main doll hair types and what they can/can't take 🙂 For the body; - I take an old toothbrush which is purely for cleaning my dolls and some bicarb of soda (a.k.a baking soda) to create a gritty scrub. I get into all the small spaces with my old toothbrush and every single part of the doll except in the hair, then rinse. (Nothing bad will happen if it gets in the hair, it's just not necessary imo). This is the way I clean their hard accessories too like shoes, bags if they're hard plastic etc. There are lots of videos for hand washing doll clothes too! I wish I could remember the creators off the top of my head that go through cleaning your dolls but maybe one is "My Froggy Stuff"(?) 🤔 All the channels have been super easy to find though 🙂 There are social media pages too for dolls/doll collectors where people can discuss these things 😊 I use Reddit. Hope this helps and that you and your daughter keep loving and looking after these awesome dolls 🥰
