  • Although it’s uncomfortable, talking openly about money is important.
    I found this video challenging to make but I was inspired by the post I saw from Sophie ( / lawwithsophie ) which motivated me to put this out there.
    Being more open about money will help you make a more informed decisions about your future. It might help you negotiate a better salary. Also, sometimes it can just be interesting!
    This is not a video to brag about money, or my salary or anything - I don’t want it to come across that way!
    So, I hope you find this video valuable and it gives you a realistic look into this important element of ‘becoming a lawyer’.

    It'd be really interesting to see your perspective on investing. A lot of content here on youtube about investing is generally done by people who's annual income is significantly higher, or who have a much higher risk tolerance. It'd be cool to see how you approach saving as a junior lawyer

      Yes - As H C said, this is split with my girlfriend.
      Also, I'm lucky enough to get subsidised breakfasts and lunches at the office so can save a lot there (many city law firms do these sorts of benefits).

    I mam sure this is very useful to people. Thank you.We have the highest tax burden in 70 years and neither Labour nor the Tories are doing anything about it. People can choose not to have the pension sum taken off - so that is a voluntary deduction.

    How did you become a lawyer in both the UK and US?

    • @IdinSabahipour
      @IdinSabahipour  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      UK - I did the LPC exam and, after that, a two-year training contract.
      US - I did the bar examination in New York, so I'm qualified there.
