I’m riding on an early morning tram here in Warsaw, Poland. The sun is coming up giving the soft orange glow to the architecture. The streets are empty. Such a beautiful moment… 🇵🇱
Sorry for you for having a trip to Poland. It's a country that was totally bombed in the WW2 and afterwards communists handled power to 1991. It's a mess. Warsaw is the worst. I think the only city worth wisiting js Cracov, because it has many elements of medieval history of Poland
I began piano at age 6. And then I heard the older students playing Chopin. Chopin, the most exquisite music ever! I longed to play Chopin too! I am 78 and I have not changed my mind.
My mother loved the "funeral march" and said the ending was like the leaves blowing over the grave. She loved Chopin and this did not depress her. She only heard the intentions of the composer. Miss you, mum.
I am sitting in Bethlehem South Africa, by the bedside of my 96 year old mom. She is too weak to chew or talk and struggles to swallow. I live far away and came because I was notified about her deterioration. Yes she is old and weak but deserves that her dignity and quality of life be preserved until the end. Family resent me for “causing drama” to ensure she gets enough liquids etc. We feed her water, juice and liquid sustenance with a syringe between feeds. She is too weak to have a feeding tube fitted - it should have been done earlier. I can only imagine the discomfort that people like her may experience because of dehydration. She always loved Chopin. My phone is next to her head on the pillow so that she can be soothed by Chopin while she is slowly passing. Thank you for this collage. You mean more to her during the last days or hours (who knows which?) of her life than any words can say. It is also soothing my crushed heart. May you be blessed.
I admire your strength. I think your mom, if she was able to speak, will be so thankful for your presence. Hoping for healing power, strength and peace will come your way and your mother. 🙏🏻
I'm very sorry. It is difficult to work in nursing homes. I understand you. I don't know how you can cheer yourself up. But try to stay calm with your mom because she feels it. Stay with Mom, make these moments happy. Nothing more. Greetings from Warsaw. He often travels to Żelazowa Wola, where Chopin was born. Come here sometime. When I listen to Fryderyk, I will remember your Mother. Be strong and be good to the world.
Back in the 90s, I remember my father playing Chopin to wake me up in the morning because he knew I enjoyed his music His music will always be recognized
@ericjanga3245, what a wonderful way to wake up in mornings. My mother used to sing songs to awaken us with a beautiful voice. Much better than alarms! lol
Chopin only lived 39 years of life, but in that time, he managed to create some of the most beautiful piano pieces the world has ever seen. His life was cut short, but his legend and memory will forever be held in the notes of his music.
Russian blue cats are known for their love of music. My sweet girl loves Chopin. I played it for her all the time and even through her battle with cancer. She has now passed away this past June and Chopin still holds such a special place in my heart because of her. RIP Queen Bunny
I never understood Chopin the way I should have until I went through a period of love, pain, suffering and longing all the same time. 49 years old but better late than never I say 😊
If you love him find ballet la dame aux camellias its on you tube 2 bolshoi versions choreography by John Neumeier all Chopin sensual and extraordinary
listening to Chopin while studying for my physiology class. it's a cold, windy day in the beginning of autumn. there's a tree next to my window, and when the wind becomes particularly strong, the leaves look like they're dancing along to the music. this year has been hard, but life will be good again.
listening to chopin while studying for my biology class. Almost cold, a windy day in the beginning of autumn. I can see a park through my window, as the wind is always strong, the leaves of the trees always danced along to the music. Good luck for your classes
"Bach is an astronomer, discovering the most marvellous stars. Beethoven challenges the universe. I only try to express the soul and the heart of man" - Chopin
I wish you all the best my friend ... we don’t know each other but we all share the same passion for great music so I guess somehow we are all connected ..Cheers to good health to family and may every day in 2021 be happiness and celebration of life whoever is reading this
When I was a little girl, I hated Chopin's nocturnes and ballads. I thought he was depressed and sad in everything he composed, which thwarted my joie de vivre as a kid. Now that life has made me mature a bit more, I appreciate his work deeply and feel emotions I have never felt before. I believe he reveals a deeper side of our existence, by allowing us to transcend our pain.
Something about Chopin's music... It cannot be described with words. It's a lyrical masterpiece. A poem. A story. Unforgettable melodies that linger in your head like memories that cannot be placed. So melancholy, so beautiful, so simple. Chopin will always be my favorite composer because of this. It's not structural, but instead it has many different flowing parts, repeating motifs, and changes that add to it's magical, dreamlike beauty. - A wistful classical music nerd
I was looking at a portrait of Chopin and saw such sensitivity and suffering etched on his face. I thought the nature of genius is the ability to turn suffering into art which touches our hearts. Did he realize that he would still be reaching out and helping other struggling souls nearly 200 years after his death?
I am starting my mornings with Chopin. I don't know if my kids will remember it as a peaceful beginning of the day! I wish in a future they would say, my mom always listened to Chopin and it reminds me the peaceful, warming and loving mornings😊
I have been suffering from anxiety lately, and I was searching for calm music. Nothing helped. Randomly I searched for classical music one day, Beethoven showed up and then next in the line was Chopin nocturne, OP.9 No.2 E flat minor. Been listening to it since then, helped me with my anxiety. Music is powerful❤️
I love his music so much... Also, as a Polish person, I'm really proud of him and his achievements. Seeing people from all over the world sharing listening to this talented man's music is such a great feeling. Sending love!
Same. Not the parents part - I only had one anyway. I'm agreeing with the tears part. Not many rock n' rollers listening to Chopin while they run or while they're in the shower...
@@Grandtrunk You are right in general, but have you listened to his faster etudes, mazurkas or polonaises? There is little - if any - melancholy in those...
I wish I knew it was 2 days ago. I would've played nocturnes. Delighting with a nice cigar and a bit of rum. Here's to you Chopin! May your name live on for generations to come.
Chopin will forever remain of my favorite componists. I am fascinated by the way someone can produce a piece of music that can move you and make you feel... I could listen for hours upon hours... Imagine the state of mind someone has to be to come up with this heaven in music form. It's pure genius!
I've been listening to Chopin for 10 years now and every time is like the first. Chopin never gets boring and he's always a good choice. Always. Whether work, studying, relaxing, dinner party, some kind of reception... You can't go wrong with Chopin.
Yah, I can relate to that. Sometimes I’ll be listening to a really dark piece of music on loop, and this generic add pops up with some generic pop music and it really destroys the whole mood, lol.
His music feels like it tells such sad tales, but each one always seems to have that slight glimmer of hope or trepidation when turning into the next the next transition. I've never seen music like this played live 8n my country, and I can't wait for the day that I do get to experience it. It's so beautiful.
My neighbor was playing Chopin's pieces everyday for the whole year I lived next to him. Now these reminds me of his music and that flat I used to stay:)
Chopin is absolutely my favorite composer. His Nocturnes are otherworldly. His Nocturne in C-sharp minor from his Opus Posthumous is one of my favorite pieces of all time to play
This specific piece has a climax where surrendering is the only option and gives me a sincere smile. It has something to do with anticipative embellishing tones piling up(theory 101)
@Black Monkey to be honest Chopin is one of the musicians that people sometimes classify as classic, and sometimes as romantic, although i agree that the correct one is the romantic era
When I hear in the news all the calamities around the world, how we are destroying this beautiful paradise we call earth, I get depressed, but then I listen to Chopin and I realize his music justifies the presence of humans on this earth.
“After playing Chopin, I feel as if I had been weeping over sins that I had never committed, and mourning over tragedies that were not my own.” Oscar Wilde, 1891
When I feel sad, I turn to this playlist. It never fails to totally change my outlook on things. That's the power of good music. That's the power of Chopin.
Listening to Chopin, to me, is like having everything I thought I wanted and yet softly longing for something that I am not sure exists and gazing out my windows somewhat enchanted by possibility that such thing could be out there, remote but reachable within my grasp.
yes, i get you, that longing for something beyond words. zi feel the music is saying, you are so close to heaven and we just have to realize it is within us all
to all the warriors fighting twice as hard as everybody else in life, your effort is seen, what you've been waiting for is coming, often due to the nature of this fight we lose track of time and we feel like the fight is endless, it's not. God bless you all.
Perfect! Chopin, was a genius who's music keeps living on, in our hearts and soul, today and forever. To all here, enjoy life's little gifts, unexpected surprises and this beautiful music, a gift from Heaven. Halidon, thanks for sharing.
guys.. now i'll tell you a story yesterday it was raining( i very like the rain)so I made a cup of tea and stood by the window and put this video on ... it was wonderful
A wonderful state to place oneself in, especially during this time of havoc and intense suffering. Glad it brings you peace. I feel the waves of it, too. 😊🌊
My dad played this and I remember lying under the Steinway feeling the vibration and allowing the music to fill my ears and my soul. I will always love this piece. It was also used in the movie, The Turning Point as Leslie Brown bourree'd across the stage.
Wonder if such geniuses would be born again on this earth. The music written these days can’t be listened more than a few times, unlike these masterpieces which we can listen for many years many times and the next 20 generations can also enjoy.
Chopin's slow pieces and his simple but meaningful pauses contain the beauty of rain-drops falling at languorous intervals on delicate vessels producing sweet clinking sounds. His sudden changes in pace from slow to fast and vice versa in his mazurkas and valses are beautiful too without any display of virtuosity intended to overwhelm his listeners. His compositions make his connoisseurs instinctively identify piano itself with him and his music. Hats off to the piano genius.
coming back after finishing my university entrance exam. Listening to this, my mind goes right back to those days when I was always stressed out, scared of the unforeseenable future, worried if my effort would paid off, filled myself with expectations and unavoidably dissapointment, etc. Going through all that, I'm just gonna give myself a pat on the back. Although the result isn't remarkable or anything, I know I deserve it. The future ahead will be much harder and harsher, but I know I will not give up on any goals easily
The song at 13:57 is my favorite song and the most beautiful, wistful, melancholic piece of music I've ever heard. I always feel so nostalgic and yet so peaceful when I hear it.
@@noa4953 OMG I know! It took me so long to find it on TH-cam since it has such a similar name to one that's much more famous... But this one is so much prettier yet it's so under appreciated.
Whenever i listen to Chopin music i am so moved by the greatness of the sound and notes. I’m also constantly amazed by the brilliance of the people out there who have mastered the keyboard. I’m so impressed with the genius of the piano and people who can play such beautiful music.

I can listen Chopin forever. I love some melodies of all other famous composers, but it seems that I love almost everything that Chopin composed. It resonates with my brain natively. Am I alone in this?
Of course not. I love Beethovens music, but particular pieces I like more than others. This is the same for Bach's music. Yet, I cannot think of a single one of Chopin's pieces I've heard that I've had any feeling of nuetrality to less toward. I have no idea how he could think to compose these pieces. Does he simply consider a melody, a key signature first? Brilliant.
Today I decided it was time I gave a listen to classical music. I told a friend I was going to start exploring classical and his first words in reply were "You need to listen to Chopin, you will not regret it!" He was correct. I'm a guitarist. I've been a musician for over 40 years, and I will admit here and now, I do not know a thing about classical music. Before today there were a few guitarists I thought created chord progressions and solos that were genius. After listening to Chopin, I have to say those same guitarist's composition are primitive and seemingly puerile in comparison. So now I am faced with a great conundrum. Since I can no longer listen to, or play, contemporary music with the same appreciation and enthusiasm, should I repurpose my electric guitar into a living room lamp and buy a classical guitar? It's already evident to me that I am going to be enamored with classical music. That's a done deal, thank you for enlightening me Frédéric Francois Chopin! If I am going to love listening to it, then I am going to have to also learn to play it. Good grief, this is going to feel like starting beginner lessons again. LoL
As a Polish man I have to tell you, that I get this music much different than you guys. In most tracks, I can hear the grief after "lost homeland". Chopin wrote most of his stuff in France, outside of his own country. Every track recorded just after November Uprising (1830-1831), when Poles, tried to get their independence again (there was no Poland on the map from 1795) was just a bunch of grief included in everything what Chopin wrote (for some years at least). There was a lot of polish artists like writers, painters, musicians, that in those "romantic" times were trying to express the grief about lost Poland, about that they were born, or remembered when they could study in school in their own language etc. Polish artists around 1795-1850 were extremely "romantic", and most their works were about "the lost countryland". The same is about Chopin, and you can feel that.
wow nice. What I like about chopin though, listening to him over the years, every time I listen to it it is still a mystery unraveling itself from a new. Someone said that the only reason he can play Chopin as a professional for over 20 years is for that reason.
Thank George Sand who made it her love to keep him alive and able to compose in Majorca. He had TB died in his mid 30s. What a sublime soul he was then, she too for recognizing his gift.
Throngs of people saw this man's individual performances and till this day he is revered worldwide. You don't need lyrics or drugs to be entertained and taken to a profound level of bliss and euphoria. Just Chopin suffices.
It's crazy how we can perceive the same piece in different ways depending on the individual. This piece invokes a kind of despair in me that does not manage to gain the upper hand.

Don't let them kill your momma. May the Lord heal and strengthen her and may he bless you for your faithfulness.

Nocturnes are my fav.

Nicely put,
Something about Chopin's music...

My favourite composer. He captured the human condition so perfectly - the beauty and the anguish.
I can listen Chopin forever. I love some melodies of all other famous composers, but it seems that I love almost everything that Chopin composed. It resonates with my brain natively. Am I alone in this?
no you're not
Of course not.
LoL
My father played Chopins music on the piano and I love this music so much....
Thank you for sharing this.
