If I recall correctly, in that fight they formed the tail beast bomb all together at once and then shot it, not individually then merging the ball. Haven't seen the fight in a while so I'm not sure how they all merged their attacks together

3:30 Regarding the five combined Biju Bombs thing, if each of the individual Biju Bombs maintained the 8:2 ratio (or 4:1 ratio, same difference), even if they were combined, the ratio would still be 8:2, so there'd be no imbalance.
To explain why the Tailed Beasts could combine their separate Tailed Beast Bombs into one, imagine five separate containers of paint. Each one is made of eight parts black paint, and two parts white paint. Combining them in one big container together will not mess with their paint ratios. 2 to 8 x5 = 10 to 40 = 2 to 8.

Even before watching this I have a question. Is the name change relevant with the Tailed Beast Bomb? I mean the Spirit Bomb purges evil, but the Naruto attack blows up like a bomb, so is it not accurate?
I think while the beast is gathering chakra to form the beast bomb it kinda holds it in place since a large amout of chakra is forced into one point, and when it is released its acts more like a projectile. So when that large amout of energy fires it could become unstable in the process to form a laser like appearance, although it usually acts as a projectile.
i wish that during Naruto's 2 years of training with Jiraya, he had learned how to make a rasengan without a shadowclone. but no. he learned how to free himself from genjutsu, make a slightly larger rasengan, and he became a bit better at fighting.

So after you mentioned 8 tails' beam attack it got me thinking of how each tailed beast could add their element/nature to the tail beast bomb. Or going off this could you explain how the different tail beast chakras affect Narutos rasengan and even give some ideas as to what some of the powers/effects the other tailed beast batures could have on them considering not all were shown
I'm very late but I think a tailed beast attack should've been a chakra nature blast, like the one tail shoots wind from their mouth, two tails shoot fireballs, three tails shoot water beams, four tails shoots lava, five tails shoots steam, six tails shoot bubbles etc.
The five bijuu bombs were all the same mass, meaning they all had the same 2:8 ratio. With a 10-to-40 ratio with all five combined, it is still a 2:8 ratio, just massive.
you should start a series about combinations of jutsu and nature potential. i feel like there are a hell of a lot more possibilities with charka than the show could provide

About the problem with the combined tailed beast bombs: There is no problem when 5 tailed beasts combined their bombs together. Even though of course everyone put different amounts of chakra, if the ratios are there there is no problem. Adding 10 chakra, that are 2 and 8, and 20 chakra, that are 16 and 4, makes a 30 chakra bomb with 6 and 24 so the ratio is ok, it just got bigger.
The reason for the Genki-Dama's name being changed to Spirit Bomb in the dub is because another character (Yamcha) had a technique with the same exact name so they decided to "ball" into "bomb" as not to cause confusion. As for why the Bijuu-Dama is called the "Tailed Beast Bomb" it's probably because "bomb" is a more accurate word to describe a technique which creates a giant explosion than something like "ball" (plus it's just a lot cooler).

Something that nobody seems to address is the question of why Naruto has a completely different form of Bijuu Mode from Bee. Bee has the actual Gyuki as his most powerful form of Hachibi Chakra Mode while Naruto has Kurama 's avatar as his most powerful form of Kyuubi Chakra Mode and can't access the less potent forms of the Kyuubi's power .
The whole entire premise behind the rasengan is the spinning chakra right? Otherwise it's just a ball of chakra that probably hits and disperses on in pact. The spinning mechanic was added to match the destructive force of a bijuudama

About the bijuu dama "floating" after being created -- the creator is lifting it up / holding the chakra (even tho I don't know how exactly). We know this from when Naruto fought the third raikage he tried to make one in human form and said that it was really heavy, so they aren't just floating on their own.
If you add two Biju Damas together, the ratio stays 2:8. Since all the individual Biju Damas are in a 2:8 ratio with their positive/negative chakras, two of them together would be a 4:16 ratio, which is equivalent to 2:8. The Nine Tails took on a Biju Dama of those five tailed beasts because it's damn powerful, not because they messed it up.
