    Oboz footware are the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever purchased. I purchased a pair of the Sawtooth X low hiking shoe this fall. I put a lot of miles on them and decided to pull the trigger and I bought a pair of the mens Bridger 8"insulated waterproof boots. As you said they felt tight at first. It was the same with the Sawtooth X low shoe. After the first 10 miles the shoe fits perfectly. I wish I would of discovered Oboz many miles and sore feet before.
    I have spent a lot of money on Keen and Merrell footware in the past. They are inferior compared to Oboz fit and quality.
    Thanks for your review.

      No problem glad you found the video helpful. My brother purchase a set of snow boots and wears them in the field from Oboz.

      Glad you made the comparison between Keen and Oboz, as I'm looking for a good pair of hiking boots. You've confirmed my suspicions that Oboz are the better brand- thank you.

    Thank you! Great review! Just the review I was looking for. I recently bought a pair off REI outlet. But..... Holy crap they are tight around the tow! Right foot Big tow knuckle has pressure and left foot little tow had pressure. Initially I almost returned them with zero miles. Wearing them around my house they seem to have maybe loosened up. Tomorrow early morning will be a short 6 mile hike. I'm really hoping they stretch! I have two pairs of Merrell moabs. I like them, but I'm starting to do doing mountain peaks/lakes rocky terrain and my feet, knees are starting to ache so I thought I'd try something different.

    Thanks for the review, I just bought a pair at REI. I normally wear size 10, so I went up to a 10.5. I have slightly narrow feet, so I went with the regulars, although I'm hoping they will stretch a bit. There was a little heel lift, but I wasn't wearing my usual merino wool socks, so I think I'll be ok. Really nice boots, I hope I get the same value out of them as you have.

    Thank you for the great video and helpful reply to one of the comments that says they seem to run small in sizing. This has helped me a lot as I may have to mail order and don't want a poor fit.

    I have the same boots. I've had them for about a year and they are holding up great. The only thing I would change is the footbed because the balls of my feet need more cushion.

    Thank you for your review! I just purchased a pair of oboe and I’ve had a really hard time finding a boot that I’ve wanted that would meet my needs and expectations! I try not to be too picky, but with a limited budget and help from friends and family, I wanted a quality boot that would last a long time and meet the ware and rare of everyday travels through all four Canadian seasons! By your review and the pictures I am hopeful that this boot will meet my expectations and hopes! So thank you! If I could ask, are they leather( real leather) lol thank you stephen

      These are leather boots. thanks for the comment, and try them on indoors before committing. They seem to run small.

    It has some give now but realize these are rigid structure boots made to craddle your foot so you don't flex your foot too much and strian your arch for long hikes. When I deform the boot I'm trying to bend the middle of the boot and allow the front of the boot to drop down. See their website there should be a video of the stepped process of glueing the sole together you will see a rigid structure thats woven into the rubber sole. Their really good boot though...

    I tried on a pair of the sawtooth X today at a REI and liked them but came across these online that seem to be higher regarded if you will so they just might be the ones!

      Would you say they are fairly breathable if it is hot?

    When you try and deform the boots, which way are you trying to bend them? Can they bend towards the top of the boot? So you can have some flex in the toe to make it more comfortable for walking or running.

      You'll love them. Alot of structure in the boot. No problem with stones roots etc. Enjoy

      @@bertoutdoors3771 hope they fit well. A lot of boots I’ve tried are just a bit too skinny and the wides and just a bit too wide. Trying them blind and hoping for the best. I was using Columbia Newton Ridge..I do like them and have about 500 miles on them, but the grip is not the best.

    I’m trying to decide between a normal and wide. I generally don’t wear a wide but agree when I tried in a pair it was tight but comfortable with regular socks.
    Thoughts?

      Well I normally wear a wide. I bought these wide and I could still use more room. My feet swell when I hike.

    • @bertoutdoors3771
      @bertoutdoors3771  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely at minimum 11 wide. Can you try them on somewhere?

    How are they for sizing ? Are they true fit or run a bit smaller?

    • @bertoutdoors3771
      @bertoutdoors3771  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They seem to run slightly under size. I can wear 10.5 but I needed these 11.

      Bought a size 9UK wide and fit perfectly. I normally go 9 or 8.5 pending boot.

      They fit true to size for me. I own both the Sawtooth X and the Bridger 8 in a size 9 wide. Both pairs felt snug out of the box but in time and miles the padding and insulation formed to my feet and feel like a custom made shoe.
