Same happened with communist Cuba during the last years of Fidel Castro's rule, when the Castros decided that future PCC congresses feature only portraits and images of the founders and godfathers of Latin American communism (Fidel, Che, Chavez, Julio Antonio Mella ), because the collapse of the USSR gave Fidel latitude to recommit to his goal of a Latin America free from US hegemony.

Damn, this looks 1000x more powerful than todays North Korean military parades, even with no military footage, this and the 1992 one before famine and the eternal presidents death
North Korea at one point was actually a good country with decent living conditions but everything started to go down when the USSR collapsed as the economy heavily relied on it
@@skeletonentertainment4201 North Korea's command economy registered some growth in the heavy and light industry sectors in the 1950s and 1960s thanks to the Chollima Movement but by the time that South Korea's Park Chung-hee was assassinated in 1979, the command economy of the DPRK was beginning to stagnate even as South Korea's economy made huge leaps and bounds resulting from Park's economic policies.

I'm wondering the same, the tune is called "Song of happiness for the great leader" and it is used whenever the leader in charge enters the scene...you can find a couple of videos here...since I've always heard it I've started loving it (I'll use it at my wedding too) but on YT you'll only find instrumental version, while nowadays they use it with no Lyrics (but with cheerish people added) once there were words too...but many things really changed since the death of Kim Il Sung...by watching old footages about DPRK it seem they were more relaxed in the 80's then they turned really paranoid and strict under Kim Jong Il.

Notice how the North Korean parades back then featured posters of Marx and Lenin but are completely absent from today's parades.
Back when they still had Support from USSR
They turned on backs on them since they had Juche, not Marxism-Leninism.
They were removed in 2009

The only gods in the DPRK now are all named Kim. Marx, Engels, Lenin, don't mention them.
These folks are something I can't explain because I'm speechless here.
During this time when Kim Il-Sung was leader these people were blind unlike today. Kim Il-Sung was a God to them
If only you were apart of it.

They looked less brainwashed then those cheering for Kim Jong Il’s parades and those presided by Kim Jong Un before this year’s midnight celebrations.
the Kim Jong-il regime enjoyed as much uncoerced support as the Kim Il-sung regime did, dude
