Being a british, and growing up with Coldplay playing everyday in the house or the car then discovering BTS almost a year ago, this collab brings me SO much joy to my life!!!
The fact that you hadn't heard the song before watching this made it all the better a reaction. Your emotions were so raw. This was the best collab of the year! And just knowing they were in the studio together making it is just.....chefs kiss
I absolutely agree this is some of my favorite vocal work from BTS in quite a while. I know their occasional autotune is a style choice, but they truly don't need it. they all have such interesting natural vocals and this seemed weirdly, on an EDM inspired track, cleaner and more pared down, natural, and more striking. I agree, JK's voice on this was incredible. I love the whole idea of the song though. So many different meanings you can pull out of this. from covid, a worldly love, and the idea that in a "normal" world, BTS and Coldplay shouldn't be collaborating. there is so much stigma around different languages in western music, but both groups said screw that, we're gonna do something revolutionary and do our own thing. it's an impressive collaboration.
I love this collaboration so much. Its so full of love and hope. And loved it even more when i watched the documentary and saw how they made this making it more special. There's so much respect and chemistry between these two groups. They were so intentful in making this 🥺💜

Loved everything you said. As to Jin & V's vocals, I have to say that I deeply appreciate their higher registers - they can make me cry. But I am always happy when we hear more of a range from them. I LOVE V's natural lower register. And Jin has such a wider range than I think he often gets credit for - I love his lower register as well. The differences in tone and texture of their voices is what makes BTS who they are. They are all so differenut but it all works for the songs that they make. There are so many layers, structures and textures in their music that is just so unique. When I finally delved into the BTS rabbit hole last year, that’s when I understood what the hype was all about. It all made sense why people where so drawn to them. And they continue to attract new fans into the Bangtan universe. It is so amazing. And this song, to me feels like the offspring of Mikrokosmos of BTS and A Sky Full Of Stars by Coldplay. Seriously!

one of the biggest talents that JK has, is his ability to adjust the texture of his voice to suit different moods , here he adjusts it to Chris's so they sound not really similar, but not so jarringly different, it was like butter. Hes a maestro! And Tae's...its weird, but his voice has the power to cleanse my palate...lol What I mean is, he almost resets the song and brings it back to the base where everyone else can build it back up again. Its his super power (apart from the fact he sounds so incredible).
