I don't either, but the last game Josh coached at Oklahoma, the "nail in the coffin" was the 2014 Russell Athletic bowl, Dec 29th, 2014. They lost to Clemson 40-6. The defensive coordinator for Clemson was Brent Venables. Josh keeps receipts and Brent knows it. Incredible offensive mind against the best defensive mind. I can't wait for this game.
@paydenj8447 I agree. I know that decision actually benefited everyone involved. Heupel wasn't a great OC until he was fired, then eventually bettered himself to where he is now. Same with BV when he went to Clemson, he bettered himself there.
If Josh has an ax to grind still, that could work against him. Everyone blames someone in a divorce, eventually most grow into understanding it was a blessing. The celebration of his time here will damper his frustration. Win or lose Josh will be loved here forever. He is still our boy.
@@awethinic8379 brother as stated already in this comment thread the final straw for Heupul at Oklahoma was 2014 vs Clemson when Oklahoma got destroyed and Brent Venables was the defensive coordinator for Clemson. Heupul got hired to TN 1yr before Brent went to Oklahoma. I think he feels overlooked and it's the college that he truly loves and played for. I don't think he has any ill feelings to Oklahoma but he may feel slighted by the staff. Either way I love the dude but hope Oklahoma wins.
OU's offense might do better if they'd settle on a running back. None of those guy's get enough touches to get into any kind rythm. Sawchuck has been their best back for last couple of years, but it's like they're fighting it for some reason. The Chuk is a back like AD that needs touches to get into a groove. The more he gets in a game the better he will get. But he's gotta be sitting there like young Dewey Cox, wondering if he stinks, because they always just seem hellbent on trying to replace him. I'd go with the Chuk and Tatum and play the other two only if needed.
If Coach Heupel gets a chance to put his foot on any opponent's neck, he'll do it. I don't think he's actually out to get OU specifically. It seems to me like he loves OU but might have feelings about some individuals... maybe.
I’m going say exact opposite then cuz Shane. No, we haven’t seen Nico ability to run ON PURPOSE. Anyone who know this history knows there’s been gamesmanship that both coaches circled. Not only did OUr coaching staff circle it. The University of Oklahoma Admin circled as a must win. And you can bet, Brent hasn’t shown you everything…
Nico hasnt really had to do anything for three games. I dont think they have any idea what Nico can do because the last 3 games he was basically a pocket qb. He isnt a pocket qb.
@@uni4rm Both QB’s need to live in the pocket until you gotta move the pocket… So Tennessee has one of the best pass rushers?? We have one of the best front 14. Not to mention all American Safety’s! As an OU fan something has been missing the last couple years, it’s like OU couldn’t get up for games they were supposed to win. (For big 12 teams) They’ve wanted to get the SEC move done ! Players, Staff, everyone. For me- The pressers were telling!! BV talking about what’s on tape or the lack there of, Seth talking how vanilla he’s kept things and not wanting to show JA legs…. Shit, last week about this time, if Tulane would have won, OH LAWD! You’d thought the damn wheel fell off the chuck wagon!!
TN stats are based on 1.5 games played by Nico, Sampson, and Pearce.... 1.5 games by second string... oh my... We haven't seen the full vol offense/defense yet.
I think josh will be an NFL coach one day. He threw some ugly balls but they were always on point and in the right place. You knew he was going to find the holes on every defense even mid play he was directing traffic.
I'm on week 3 of not knowing what to expect from OU. Then to throw the facts of players coming back and we were running "vanilla" I just have no answers lol maybe that's by design and we come out looking like the team I expected to look like in the off-season. Maybe we look like the team that played Houston. 😂 who tf knows

since you heard it all why listen? What else would YOU like to hear? Let everyone know. You be having some weird dumb comments on ALL of the podcasts out there. 🤦🏾♂️
You guys keep talking about who has Tennessee played while glazing over Oklahoma hasn't played anyone guys what the hell... huston, tulane, temple, None of those teams are good with the exception of tulane whom I'd say is on a NC State level 😂😂😂 Oklahoma should have better stats against Medicare competition but they dont!!! I'm not saying Tennessee is going to boat race anyone I'm a realistic person but the stats don't lie.. Tennessee defense is the real deal no touchdowns in 4 games going back to the bowl game!!! Oklahoma has given up points against junk teams Tennessee has not!!!! I have this one 36 to 17 Tennessee wins... I've been wrong before but I don't think I'm wrong on this one fellows
Vol will win more than 28 blow out tn run game is to much for Oklahoma defense 3-3-5 will not work and the front 7 is to fast for Oklahoma qb to run and tn is going to make Oklahoma defen The whole feild tn offense is to complete for Oklahoma
History is not on your side on this one. Since 2000, OU has only lost at home 12 times. Of those 12 times, only 3 were greater than one score. The biggest home blowout was in 2014 vs Baylor (14-48). I don't think I need to tell you who the OU offensive coordinator was in 2014. This game is going to be a dog fight.
OU is not a good team to run against. They are absolutely elite at stuffing the run. If that’s your gameplan you are in for a miserable day. Do some homework.
My two favorite channels meet Lfg! Make this a thing all the time sec Mike and cousin shane are top notch
I really like OU and I am a TN fan. If not for them we may not have JH.
Great episode! Cousin Shane is the man!!
Love cousin Shane! Welcome!
Sooner fan discovered the SEC podcast in pre season. Love those guys this was a great interview
Enjoyed having Cousin Shane on your show. Think about him now every time I drive past a Cracker Barrel.
Cousin Shane is always an interesting fellow
Most mountain folk are!
Different, kindly stated.
You guys were great to listen to. I’d listen to a post game with Brandon, Parker, and Shane
Great episode love the collaboration. Enjoy both shows. Boomer!!
Love cousin Shane!!!
What a great podcast!!!
Always welcomed shane
One day closer boys. Go Vols. Going to be a close game.
I can’t shake the feeling ou plays amazing this weekend and struggles again next against Auburn. Seems a team who will play up and down to competition
i love Cousin Shane!!!!!!!boomer
I don't see how the whole "Josh is mad about Stoops firing him" has any legs. Stoops isn't coaching and this staff has nothing to do with it. 🤷♂️

Correction: Hickman is listed as questionable and Everett is probable at center. Brandon had it backwards.
