Now this is a real tutorial, thank goodness. Bless you for not spending ten minutes telling me how and why you like each scrap of fabric and trim. Bless you 💕
Thank you! I have a sewing machine, but it’s something I use when I can’t easily find or buy what I want. It’s not really something I do for fun. I need a needle book for my embroidery needles, and I want to embroider the front. So, I really need to make it myself so that the back of my stitching is covered and I don’t have to stitch through a bunch of layers of fabric. Most of the tutorials I’ve seen only have room for a few needles and/or are for people who enjoy quilting… this is simple and approachable. I plan to add a pocket for my scissors and maybe a closure of some sort.
And I've done it! Lovely fast fun little project clearly and concisely explained. Sending to my daughter for a gift and will make myself one next. Thankyou so much. Subscribed. I love how everyone's book will be different and all lovely.
Thank you Whitney, this is The Best tutorial I have ever seen. You keep it simple. I am going to follow it to make booth Needle Book and 🙏 Prayer Journal.❤❤❤ Ever thought of becoming a Teacher.❤
I've never thought about needing a needle book. This is a great idea and I will have to make and embellish one just for me. Thanks for sharing, Whitney.
Hello , this is the first time I have watched your video, I liked it and I made one today, the inside one's felt size is a bit not perfect but I am happy that I made something different and new. Thank you so much😊
Thankyou so much. It’s 5 am in England and saw your tote bag tutorial. Had my sewing machine for years and have just started using it for the first time this week! My husband has just rolled his eyes when I said I was going to have a go at your tote bag ‘recipe’ 😂 many thanks lynda x
This is a great way to make a color or texture book for little ones! I love this idea, Whitney. As a daycare administrator, I love making things that will be played with and learned from. Thank you!
Glad I'm not the only one that wants to use this project as a toddlers book lol. I have two little ones myself, I thought making a cloth book will help them get used to different textures..
Love the tutorial and feel confident that I will be able to make one of these lovely books following your great and easy to understand instructions - thank you
This tutorial is the absolutely best and easiest one I have found, it is also a great size. Now, I have to make this my next sewing project. I want to take this on vacation, it is perfect for travel. Thank you so much, you always take the angst out of sewing for me.
even though i sew, i've always had a mental block about constructing one of these. add in all the bazillions of various tutorials and my brain freezes. thx to you i now have the confidence to try:) ty!
I have learned many things from your videos and many thanks for it. I have to have more than 4 felt sections just for the needles. I have been adding extra patches on the pages to help separate the sizes of the needles. Beading needles on one section divided by size and so on. So I made a large book. See what you have inspired? Any ideas how to add these patches so I can use both sides. Right now I m gluing the edges. Thanks again.
Hey Whitney ! I am making this today ! ! Such a good idea. I don't know how many packages of needles I have purchased simply because I can never find them when I need to hand sew something. Maybe one for sewing machine needles also . . . 1 page for each size. I do some FMQuilting and change my needle often and have a hard time throwing needles away when I know I can use them for other projects. Great video!
Hi Whitney Just found this but I want to put some pockets one side of the inside so I could place scissors and a seam ripper but wanted the pocket to lay with the open towards the middle rather thank across the whole book what size would I need to do the pocket ? I was going to put a seam in the middle to make two pockets it would have to be 5 inches high but how much to go toward the middle where the fold is ???
Hi Whitney, Just made the Sewing Machine Pad with Jenny from the Missouri Star Quilt Company and as a real treat made your needle case with the small scraps to keep inside it. Just discovered you on youtube a few weeks ago, many thanks for your fast pace tutorials. Keep well from Bonnie Scotland
hi! always helpful tutorials ! not sure if you have made a video for this, but what sewing machine would you recommend for a beginner with some experience in sewing (so not taking the first steps in this world)? What machine would be appropriate if a project requires sewing more than 2 fabrics together, or not only straight and zig zag stitches? Can you present us the sewing machines you use for your projects? Thanks!
I use vintage sewing machines 95% off the time (the one seen behind me in my intro). I have actually never purchased a brand new sewing machine before so I wouldn't be able to recommend one. You might check out Crafty Gemini's channel. She has done several sewing machine reviews in the past.
Your tutorial for a needle book is the simplest and least complicated I've seen, and I've watched several. Going to make this today. Thanks!

Very cute and far less complicated than some of the other patterns I have looked at.

@@cat.r.s you can add a zipper, or buttons too. Helps with self-help skills.
@@CookingwithCatLover0330 I never thought of that! Thank you for the advice!

That's the simplest one I have ever seen and very beautiful too. Would you suggest hand stitching for this?
I think hand stitching would be fine if you used a backstitch.

Very nice! Do you think it is worth having ribbon or something as a closure?
You could definitely add one if you plan on tossing it in a bag a lot, but for home use it really doesn't need a closure.
Love this. The 💗
