    Brilliant Peter. Getting contacts on a 2 transistor transciever is amazing.

    Interesting as always. When I was a kid, I ordered a "spy pen radio" by mail. It was a simple diode detector receiver fit into a pen case where the tip of the pen slide in and out for tuning. It worked pretty well. I wonder if a Pixie or Poxie could be constructed to fit in a package the size of a (fat) pen. I imagine an SMA antenna connector on one end, a headset jack on the other end, small button batteries for power, with the pocket clip as a makeshift key. There's a project for you, Peter! : ) 73

    Love the whiteout / liquid paper on the sketch. Still a staple in the architect’s tool box🤙

    Could you make it form a couple of cheap pixie kits? Not sure I like the name. My great grandmother had scars from small pox. An old curse was a "a pox upon your family". By the way, the large pox was the luetic spirochaete infection.

    In the receiver section, is the resistor to ground on the OA95 cathode 2200 ohms or 22,000 ohms? I can't tell; it looks like a dot between the 2 and 2 to me, which would make 2200 ohms. Should there also be a capacitor to ground across that resistor?

      22k. No dot & no capacitor. Capacitor would just shunt the RF at that point to ground.

    Do you have one for 15m?

    • @vk3ye
      @vk3ye  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. 15m would be much more complex & much less active.

      @@vk3ye Thanks for the reply! Looking at making a 15m CW beacon and are looking for an easy circuit.

      Over last few weeks, I have often monitored 15m when open during daytime. I have heard very little activity around 21.060MHz. In EU at least, there doesn't seem to be much QRP activity on 15m. I seem to have more luck on 17m and 10m.
