There is still lot of different between rar and 7zip, 7zip is pretty much compress file as lower size as possible, winrar cant, also there is another one software, its free arc, it gives even more better result than 7zip but require more memory depending on file size

Windows couldn't even extract my severely corrupted files. If they can surpass the top file extract softwares, then I would be satisfied with Microsofts' new file extract software.

.rar files maybe but THEY DIDNT HAVE .ZIP UNTIL WINDOWS 11??? MacOS had that since Lion and Many Linux distros also have this for ages now.

While ZIP and RAR are the two most popular ( and is really good news to get native support ) personally i would still keep 7-ZIP , its great and supports a lot of formats

7-ZIP is nice indeed, but this update will save a lot of less techy people from downloading possibly malware-ish zipping apps.

I don’t understand why winrar is so popular. I literally hate winrar with every fiber of my being. I have a special unlocker tool on saved to my desktop just for deleting winrar every time I’m forced to install it
