I know this, because I own a HD-DDW5500 system, which I had purchased in 2009 for Rs. 38K, from Vijay Sales in Mumbai. This model has an extra dedicated sub-woofer amplifier that HD-DDW5500 does not; the receivers (amplifiers) and the tower speakers are also different in both these models. While the STR-KM500 HT system has 6 Ohms tower speakers. the tower speakers of the HD-DDW5500 are of 4 ohms impedence, which makes the STR-KM500 superior tothe HT-DDW5500. Otherwise, both models are 1510W RMS output and Mu-Te-Ki, and have the same number of speakers and sub-woofers. Neither system supporst 4K HDR. Yes, you can hook your PS-4 or X-Box to these systems.To demonstrate the true sound output capabilities of this sytem, you should do the sound test using the optical (TOSLINK) or HDMI inputs, instead of plain vanilla 3.5mm to RCA. I use the RCA inputs for attaching a BT receiver, so that I can stream songs from my smartphone.Cables are a mess only if you do not take pains to conceal them. So, this should not be too much of a concern. Yes, old school Sony HT systems are superb and excellent value for money!! Sadly, they have been discontinued by Sony, in favour of systems with smaller footprints. And sadly, there are very few 6.2 system out there nowadays.And the doors and windows of my neigbours house also rattle when I listen to music on my HT-DDW5500!!

Fenda or any other companies will not compete against sony for these types of models and their form factors(like 5.2,7.2,9.2 or configurations os woofers and channel speakers)
If you're gonna play media file in tv then take HDMI out from TV and send it to this Sony receiver. It'll take 5.1 audio signal or stereo as per file being played.
hi, i have the same set up for few years. i use it at its full volume very rarely. i have noticed one issue. im not sure if its just for my set or not so maybe some one can help me on it. when the master volume get higher that 40 and so on, i feel like the bass get low and i hear too much of the mid range. is this normal? but when i listen to it at a moderate volume ,, the sound is just great ,,,,,
This is because the woofers are only capable of outputting bass which will rival mids and highs at about 50% volume, above that they will fell short, and not only loudness but bass will lose its richness too...

I do not remember music name! It was some NCS track I played randomly. Most of the heavy bass NCS tracks I've already uploaded on my channel NCS playlist kindly check the same.
If your TV has HDMI out then send it to input of Sony receiver input. If your TV has HDMI input and doesn't have output then use your main source as input for Sony receiver and its output to your TV.

Nope I had newer version MT55 which sounded way better! You should try newer muteki system once the clarity and detailing is way better with some more bass.

Bhai, I'm from south africa.. Have this system connected to ps3 via optical cable for sound and from ps3 to android TV with hdmi.. Hdmi from ps3 to TV is taking picture and sound but hdmi not taking sound to the receiver from ps3. Any fix?
You mean the newer version M55? The newer version is louder in highs and also has more punchy bass. It also comes with Bluetooth, aux, USB and HDMI as well as optical connectivity.
No bass from fronts so far. Yes there is some midbass but not strong enough to be noticed if kept together. Must be starting from 150-200hz approximately. I haven't placed system technically far for surround system maybe then I'll be able to hear some bass from fronts.
@@Live_Loud i have a k670p it has the 150hz hpf. but im seeing the k750p has the option to change from micro sp to largue it is press power + main menu when the amp is off. can you try it in the ht5500? in my k670p it erases the setting to default

Yup low end is missing in all sony muteki setups. The normal single subwoofer home theater systems are better for low end by Sony. These muteki are for loud midbass! 😅
You are the issue. for this machinnery piece of art is neccessary good spdif or tosslink connections with a good Player set up to deliver dts multichanel with the respective individual channel for BASS enhancement what we call Subwoofer. It hurts to me when I listen to comments coming from ignorant people, and No insult because I Ignore other different subjects but sound is my expertise. MUTEKI these models are the best on planet but for people who like to set up and read manuals. the best ever is the DDW5000 with active subwoofers, it took me a time to get them here in southamerica 12 years ago, and it sounds deliciously up to now, it is all about how you treat things and use them as it should be... these machines were no made for mp3 world, or garbage compressed sound like spootify or whatsoever. greetings

Try something else instead of ps3. If you have hdmi for ps3 avoid optical port. I guess some output settings are to be done in that ps3.

Just got 1. The bass was bloody disappointing. Compact subwoofer sounds way better. This one not even have low end even it had 2 subwoofers.
