The secret to better drawings is to start with the basic shapes and guides first to capture the subjects proportions and composition. Then slowly begin adding mid level details to refine your sketch.
The final steps are increasing contrast in your contours while modifying the lines snd adding more details. And then lastly giving our shapes form by adding shadows. By following these steps in this video your results will be much more precise.

Sorry to bother you but would you recommend the pencil you are using? I use the same number pencil but mine comes out so dark and messy especially when I try to rub it out..
Great tutorial. Iv done a few of yours. Some turn out great some turn out to be a mess. My request would be, for the outlines can you give us approximate measurements? I'm still having trouble determining how long and/or far apart lines should be. Iv tried using a small ruler on the screen, pausing the video after each line, measuring how big your lines are, but it seldom works out. I'm not very good at splitting pies, if you say 1/3 distance between each line its not going to work out for me. Geometry was never my strong suit, haha. There are some artists on TH-cam that actually say "go 3 centimeters from the top of the circle" and it's super helpful. Just to get a proper outline down. I would definitely be ok paying way more than $1.00 for your membership if you did that.
