      @@MrAmhara that is not a statement of fact. Standing alone it's a statement that lends itself to imprecision and ambiguity. It's more accurate to say that much of Africa is impoverished. Africa in terms of its natural resources actually possesses much untapped wealth - and in terms of its human resources even moreso. Now, it's true that composite African GDP has not kept pace with the developed world. But that's a reality that will change with the ushering in of the Customs and Free Trade agreement.

    African free-trade means raw materials will be consumed within the continent, which is a headache for the West and China. For a very long time Africa has been taken advantage of by foreigners.

      I think that this will pose a headache for those entities that are unable to adapt to changing realities. I don't foresee Africa decoupling from external economies. Instead I envision Africans renegotiating the terms by which there is continued trade with those outside of the continent. Wealth will no longer be expropriated because Africans as a collective will develop and adopt smart multilateral cooperative initiatives to add value to native resources

    It was predictable that Al Jazeera would take a negative bend to this. You can't wait for perfection to move forward. You have to begin with a vision and slowly realise it by solving the challenges. Listening to this program one would think that this is a futile exercise. Pundits and critics are more often than not, wet blankets to anything positive.

      There's already an African Development Bank. Mostly established by China. The headquarters of the Africa Union was built by a chinese company and funded by the Chinese government. Some of the money for the initial implementation of this African Free Trade Agreement was from the Chinese government. 😂😂😂😂😂 China is already building Africa to make China rich.

    I believe the challenge is not infrastructure but political will ,most of our leaders need to show more commitment for this to succeed. The barriers must be removed for free movement of goods, labor and raw materials all over the continent. Looking forward to a visa free Africa for Africans.

He wouldn't even believe that a single African owns 3 biggest UK airports like Gatwick airport, London city airport and Edinburgh airport. Who knows if he hasn't bought more airport from the British government. There are countless businesses and companies owned by Africans in Europe and America which contributes to their GDP and also Africa's resources being exported and billions of dollars being unaccounted for from extracted resources. Even France still fight to keep control of their former colonies as they can't survive without these African nations. A lot of these westerners thinks that their taxes feed Africans through aids not knowing that it is Africa that actually aids their economies.

    We keep saying we need credible leaders. Each one if us are the leaders. Each one has to undertake the hard tasks of building The Africa We Want. Whether by deep study. Hard work. Teaching the little ones. Being honest with each other. Men working hard and leaving the drink alone and supporting the ladies.
    Hard work by all not just the leadership will bring about a prosperous Africa.

    I support African development. The basis of establishing the economic development has to surely be spiritual unity amongst black African brothers and sisters,mainly rejecting the influence of foreigners and their unfairly targeting the best of African resources.
    Yes trading with outsiders is necessary but not at any cost.

    I've been lucky to travel to some of Africa and it has so much potential, not just in the wealth of its resources but also in the huge talent of its young people. This continent is beautiful and it should be the centre of tourism so more people can experience its hospitable, warm cultures, gorgeous landscapes and wildlife, and exciting cities, from Cape Town to Marrakech and Lagos to Dar es Salaam! Such a misunderstood place. Much love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 - I hope there's more cooperation between African countries and Pakistan in the future.

But that is by the way, saying that africa is in debt to america is a fool hardy way of the oppressor.
