I love her mom❤️, even if she was chasing wealth, she loved her daughter & fiercely protects her. Unlike many terrible "mothers" that choose wealth over daughter. Yeah, groomed her daughter to marry the wealthy Payton. But to be fair, he WAS a respectable young master & had treated her daughter fine. UNTIL the skank came back, & the idiot strayed. She also adviced her to turn the other way, & that wasn't very motherly of her to do. But she didn't discourage her daughter from choosing to start her own business. Once she saw how much her daughter hurt, & how resourced she was to leave the scum. She didn't object & encouraged her, . Obviously she had her own interest at heart, she's not a perfect loving mother & she does crave the wealthy life. But she still stood up for her daughter, & raised her tenderly. The FL was very strong & resolute, by not standing any of his BS. She's right, a man like THAT can only ever love themselves 🤷🏻♀️.
A mistress who thinks she loves the guy and wants to be the wife, I can understand taunting the true wife. But I don't understand professional mistresses taunting the wife. A real professional would stay quiet in the background and get her money instead of taking the chance to be kicked out early.
It is good when the scumbag men show their despicable and cheating ways before marriage so wise women can walk away and find good and faithful men that will make them happy.
Have to admit that although story was interesting, I'm getting tired of these white moonlight plotlines. Especially, the ones where the guy thoughtlessly gives away items precious to the FL, where the guy doesn't bother to investigate what the skank has been up to since she left, where he immediately starts to neglect, disbelieve, berate, and lie to the FL, and where he takes the skank's side on everything. This is getting kinda old.
