I am a firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service. I was tasked to protect this particular structure during the recent fires that stretched from Lithgow to Bilpin and can attest to how amazing this place really is (still is). I would recommend a visit to anyone. The owner is also quite the gentleman!
absolutely beautiful. Your a very lucky man to live the way you do. I hope more people take note of how as we are are suppost to live. good on yeah. Peace love and tranquillity.
Very tranquil home and beautiful decor. Some have gone overboard in the decor and it takes away from the tranquility. This home has the perfect decor for this home. Rugged and not opulent. Very well done!
Wikipedia - Tree houses or tree forts, are platforms or buildings constructed around, next to or among the trunk or branches of one or more mature trees while above ground level. Tree houses can be used for recreation, work space, habitation, observation or as temporary retreats.
An absolutely AMAZING!!!! experience! The design is flawless & magical atmosphere! Truly well done to you & the Wollemi Wilderness team on ALL the other cabins aswell.. But TREE HOUSE is PHENOMENAL OMG!!!!!! :-)
But, of the wild birds in the area, do you ever get visited by the Pink Breasted Bed Thrasher? Of all the wildlife, that's my favorite. I believe they are native to New South Wales.
Perhaps they are migratory birds. Sometimes, this is preferable to a species that will reduce the local resources. But, it limits mating possibilities unless the male courtship dance is very attractive
A tree-house with a spa? 90 minutes from Sydney? My inspirational interview with the builder is getting some good traction. Like +1 for Treehouses! th-cam.com/video/Jl6W1gdNF6Y/w-d-xo.html
Do you know the builder??? I'm a Pacific NW Treehouse builder/lover (nothing big, but we've invented a LOT of the techology that goes into treehouses in my back yard here in Oregon like the slide bolt and several other key technical bits and pieces) and I lived in S. Central Queensland for a fair few years (Bush Opperator/Station hand) and was lucky enough to get to go see this place and explore the Blue's. If you're ever up in the QLD, there are some hidden gems built in and around the Kroombit that you should search out if you can find them. I'm happy to see these vids, but really, the spirit of treehouses is they're special, hidden gems in the forest. That's why that show "Treehouse Masters" is so unpopular with local PNW builders and the folks who invented the building designs that are still used today. Treehouses are not for profit... They're for the love of woodwork and building WITH nature not on top of it.
Hi D, great post - will pass on to the builder - some really nice info shared there - will keep an eye out for the QLD gems in my travels - agreed - tree houses are special places. Best, JA
Jamie Andrei Cheers mate, please do, I really LOVED the feel and the natural aesthetic they created in there. I'm an avid outdoorsman and a lover of all things wood-work and the feel of being in that area was so well reflected in the home that I was just in love. It never felt like being in a HOME in the forest, but in a room made OUT of the forest. Truly a masterpiece and a beautiful creation that pays homage to the beautiful landscape it's around aye. To say I miss the Iron bark, the Blue Gums and the Tee-trees in Australia is a massive understatement... Such beautiful country, I miss it every day. Be well mate.
That's awesome. I wouldn't ever live in one though. I'm too afraid of major wind storms. Just one 80+ gust of wind and your hard work is crashed on the forest floor below, along with the rest of your family.
Yes, it is very pretty, but as the narrator was telling of all the things one can see, I couldn't help but wonder if he had included all the mosquitoes one would see, as well. :)
Hey, looks great! We used to live in Mount Victoria and know there area well. I can just imagine what it would be like chilling in your deck! Quick question, we are looking into a similar idea ourselves in South Australia and are curious to know what the council have to say about it? Was this a headache to get approved? Is it approved? Would love any info or useful links you could provide! Cheers and well done!
Hi Sam, good to here from you - I am not across all the legal and regs advice - would hate to give you a bum steer - check with your local council or regulatory body. Apologies - not my area of expertise. Let me know how you go in SA. : )
Jamie Andrei Hi Jamie, thanks for your reply. Bum! I was hoping to hear about this guys personal experience and maybe learn from his approach before talking to council. Unfortunately, most councils tend to be incredibly conservative and have the creative minds equivalent to that of a stick so I would like to try and arm with myself with some factual knowledge - especially relating to structural requirements, and other such minimum requirements for this type of building before I approach any council body. Would actually be nice (and interesting) to know the entire process that your friend went through so I can gauge whether my dream is feasible or a financial/logistical nightmare waiting to happen! Please, anybody feel free to contribute to this topic! :) Cheers :D
Beautiful! What a wonderful life! I would be in heaven if I lived like that. I love trees, wood, rocks and water! Wonderful good cool water, swimming, submersed, drenched, rain, puddles - all of it. Thank you for sharing - you are an inspiration to me. I need to find my spot in this world.
No snake problem there - the Aussie snakes sort of keep to them selves, they don't stalk human like bears or lions might. They also generally get out of the way if you make noise while you walk through the bush.
Jamie Andrei haha, friendly :) my son had two constrictors, python and a boa. One time I was babysitting for him or snake sitting, anyway, he had bought frozen rats for the two, they were to thaw over night and the next day, I would give them to each...I think I had to wiggle them so that they appeared live, they grabbed them and that was 'job done' :)
TheNomadicGrammarNazi fun! but they can lie in wait f0r you as you make your way to the entry way...ok, this place is super and I believe the venomous guys would stay far away, at least I do hope so....I have this thing about Auss venomous snakes :)
I wonder, what kind of permit one needs in order to build a "tree house" ? I would like to live in one permanently. It surely needs some type of permission...
Jamie, This is the second time I’ve watched your video. I’m so sorry, I was so interested in the lyre bird I forgot to tell you how glorious your treehouse is! I get that Eagles “Peaceful Easy Feeling” just watching your treehouse video. Watching the clouds form and listening to the rain must be very soothing. Thank you for sharing.

Interesting to confirm the Crown can grant Private Tenure for free any time it chooses. The Crown still owns all land in Australia. The Crown is Charles III. Australians are in fact in law all his Tenants.
Absolutely stunning! Breathtaking to say the least!
Nice job barely showing the treehouse at all.
Exactly
OMG OMG OMG ...what a dream tree house! magnificent
my dream to live somewhere like this. Isolated from society

+BabyBBB01 gravity wins in the end in all things - this shouldn't stop you from living a little in the mean time.
So love all this stuff! If I could afford it, I'd buy one! I love tree houses! Always have! Always will!
He sees the beauty around this area in so much detail! That valley view is impressive!

I want to live there, you're so lucky. Literally 1 of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. YOU DID A REALLY GREAT JOB WITH YOUR HOME.
Would have been nice to see the inside properly. The whole video was just showing outside stuff.
That's awesome. I wouldn't ever live in one though. I'm too afraid of major wind storms. Just one 80+ gust of wind and your hard work is crashed on the forest floor below, along with the rest of your family.
Julia and Danny. I guess the best way to explain their suite is a tree house bungalo- they live next to rex.
OMG i wish i can go there sometimes.I loved tree house!!
I am interested in the details of the toilet of such a house.

How do you deal with lightning? Seem scary when sitting in the top of a tree.

wow wanna visit there once in life time that place look amazing even word can't describes
Yes, it is very pretty, but as the narrator was telling of all the things one can see, I couldn't help but wonder if he had included all the mosquitoes one would see, as well. :)
crittermom452 bugs aren't too bad a problem to be honest - pack some aeroguard - the breeze up the valley seems to keep them away.
Gorgeous. How did you get the local government allow to build something like this in nature?

beautiful. it should be kept secret though. if loads of people with money see this your gorgeous secluded spot is no more.
any problems with the poisonous snakes Australia is famous for - ?
No snake problem there - the Aussie snakes sort of keep to them selves, they don't stalk human like bears or lions might. They also generally get out of the way if you make noise while you walk through the bush.
Jamie Andrei well then, that's a bit of good news...I was thinking of snakes that are arboreal :)
The Aussie arboreal snakes are quite friendly - pythons are generally harmless.

Nice treehouse but is it possible to live in a tree house a big one ???
Love your tree house, it blends so well with the surrounds. Fab.....just wanted to ask you is this State Govt. land?
My understanding is that it is private land which is verged by national parks (an end lot you could say).
Thats awesome mate. Good onya
